Nursing Home Communities in Chickasha, OK

"My mom was at Cottonwood Creek Skilled Nursing & Therapy. They're rehab and long-term care, but they don't have memory care. They could have taken her there, but the doctor there said that she was more of a memory care patient. The upkeep and the amenities were great. It was not a lockdown facility, but you have to have a code to get in and out. They had a cafeteria. I didn't taste any food, but my mother enjoyed it. It looked great. The care was great. It seemed like they had a large number of staff members and doctors, 24/7. They're right next to Grady Memorial Hospital, so they're really close to the hospital. They have community activities. They have a TV room and a little library. They have bingo and things like that. They have a place where my mom could go and visit with other people. They also have a place where she could go and eat, but they would bring her food to her room as well. It's more of an older place, but I feel that they were accommodating it well. I'm actually from Chickasha, and so is my mother. That's why I decided to go there, because she has family there that could come and visit. It was expensive. To me, most of these places are $7500 to $8000 a month."

"My dad is at Shanoan Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. They've been very engaging, helpful, and just wonderful to him. The staff has been very helpful to answer all of my questions, very accommodating, and caring. It's a nice facility, it's a little older but they are very loving. They seem like they like their jobs, which makes a huge difference. The facility is right next to a beautiful pond and a Veterans Memorial Center. It's nice and beautiful outside."

"They have an abundance of staff, caring staff. They catered to our Mother and she loved it there. "

"We decided on Glenhaven Retirement Village for my parents because it is in a location where my parents live and because they know people that live there. It is in a nice area. The building itself seems to be in good condition. Their people seem nice as well. They offer both assisted living and skilled nursing. Of course my parents prefer to be at their own home, but they seem to be doing fine there. In the assisted living, they have good activities for the residents and they seem to enjoy doing those things. I would recommend this place to others. "

"My mom is in Tuttle Care Center. They do a lot of stuff. They do two group activities a day, anything from balloon toss to bingo to roulette. They took them to the lake to go fishing the other day. They take them out to go shopping, and they have parties. They have fun activities for the people who live there. A lot of them generally love it, and they like living there. It's a much happier facility. There are places for us to sit and visit when we go. They keep it pretty clean, but it does have smells. I don't like that part. They never stop cleaning the facility. There's always somebody there mopping and cleaning. When you pass certain closets or rooms, it'll smell really bad, where they're either bathing them out or they're picking a diaper up and there's poop, or there is a closet that has all the soiled things in it. There are odors, and that's my only gripe about the whole place. Not all the time are there odors because when we went to visit, we didn't tell them we were coming, and there was no odors whatsoever. In this place, there are a lot of people who are totally coherent, and so it's a happier place. The staff is awesome. Because it's a small facility, they know everybody in there, and they're very nice and accommodating. "

"My mom is at Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy Norman. She was at another place first, and they moved her into Grace last week. She would be doing rehab there. The physical appearance is pleasing. It's a nice place. My mom really likes to cook, and she loves the meals there. She has not been there very long (only a week). As far as we can tell, everything's fine. She hasn't complained or anything. The rooms are small, and she doesn't have a roommate now. It's a great fit, and she likes it there. I haven't tasted the food, but she told me every day that it's good when I talk to her on the phone. The facility is nice and clean. It's pleasing and doesn't stink."
