"My mom is now at Winkler Court - Carthage, TX. I like that everybody is friendly, and everybody tries to find the answers if you have questions. The place itself looks nice. Everybody has their name on their door or something that sets them apart from other people. There's a bunch of jigsaw puzzles that people have put together. They frame them and hang them up on the walls, so it's really colorful. There's a beauty parlor, and I think you're able to bring in your own stylist or a barber or whatever, and they let them use that. They have an inner court that doesn't have any access to the outdoors. If the resident is not supposed to be outdoors, they could just wander in the inner courtyard, and they're safe the whole time. All the doors have alarms on them in case somebody wanders. Everybody is really helpful. I don't have any complaints about the staff. They said they geared their diet towards patients with dementia and then they accommodate other diets like diabetes or low-salt diet and things like that. The biggest meal of the day is at lunch, and the lighter meal is in the evening. At breakfast, you can have eggs any way you want, so it's pretty much your choice what you want for breakfast. The place is seasonally decorated. There are fresh plants outside and in the courtyard. They have a lot of activities. Every month they reward like 4 or 5 people who were most helpful to other residents without having to be asked or somebody asking them to do something. The reward is you get to go in a limo out of town to a restaurant."

"We toured Reunion Inn Assisted Living, and my mom enjoyed it. She liked the place, so that's why she picked it. The lady in charge, Jacque, has been just tremendously helpful, especially with trying to get mother's insurance organized and holding the room for a while we get it all done. The room was very clean. I would not say it was huge; it was just the same size as with any of them. The place was nice, clean, and an upbeat area. The inside and outside is secure. At the time that we went, there's the pandemic that they still have to watch out for. They generally have game day. Then they have activities every day, and then they also have physical therapy. It's like aerobics, yoga, or whatever they want to do. There's plenty of books and with a huge open rec area. They have a library area, too. It seemed very peaceful and quiet. It's a small town, so we all know each other. She knew a few of the people who are residents there and that helped. It's real friendly and easygoing. I've only met Jacque, and she seemed to be really nice. They were real nice and real caring people."

"I'm not sure about the Facility because I never had an opportunity to visit. The upfront presentation from the person that answers the telephone is Horrible. I contacted the Facility to ask about information for a parent. The person was VERY rude and if that's the presentation from the greeter, I can not imagine what the level of patient care would be. I learned years ago Leadership comes from the Top. I asked if he was the owner and was asked why. I want my mother to have a pleasant experience and it starts in the lobby/greeter. "

"Buckner was entirely too expensive but very nice. It was a newer facility. They do have a lot of services, but some of those services she didn’t need. It wasn’t a good fit for her. "

"My father and I toured Heartis Longview. It is great money for value! Highly professional staff with obvious expertise in all areas that may concern the elderly. The facility is beautifully designed with a movie theater, spacious entrance and nice apartments. There is a menu with different options. Their food was delicious. The only little shortcoming is a large porch without further decorations like pot plants. This is alleviated by a calming view over greenery and a pond. Overall best money for value facility of the eight places that my father and I viewed in Longview!"

"We toured Trinity Timbers Assisted Living. They had a really good and friendly staff. You can tell they had good care providers, and they really care. The place was really clean. It had a fresh environment. They had a little patio, and they had a game room for the elderly. They had an activities coordinator, and they had games. They had a lot of stuff for a small community. It's a smaller place than other places here in Longview, but you can just tell this was more of a low-key place. They probably have anywhere from 11 to 13 residents, versus other places where they have 30 or 40 residents. You can tell the residents got a little bit more one-on-one care that they can provide."
