"We toured Hawkins Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's not furnished, but it's a nice size and has a nice closet. They served three meals a day. The person who took us around was very efficient. They have a small area, but well-manicured and everything."

"I toured Heartis Longview for their assisted living, but I'm not sure where they're going to put my stepfather-in-law. They checked on him yesterday, and they will let us know. The assisted living was very nice. It was clean and pretty. The staff members who assisted me were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable, very sweet, and willing to help. They showed me a studio. It's got a bedroom, a kitchen, a nice-sized kitchen, and a bathroom. It was very nice, too."

"I went to look at Arabella of Longview. I like the environment, the surroundings, the cleanliness, and the upkeep of the facility. The apartments seem to be very sufficient for my mom. They have a recreational area, an on-site pharmacy, an eating area or dining hall, a common area, and a courtyard area."

"Parkview on Hollybrook was just too expensive. It was beautiful. The rooms were double occupancy. My cousin would have her own bedroom and bathroom, but they shared like a kitchen. The staff was very friendly. He even called me back a week later to see if I had any more questions. They had some games going on. They had bingo going on while I was there. They were also just finishing up some kind of an exercise class. They had a whole list of different activities."

"My mother moved into Autumn Wind. I was impressed with the location. The atmosphere, staff, services, and food are fine. They have physical therapy, a computer room, and a beauty shop. The room I saw was fine too."

"My husband has moved into Arabella of Kilgore Senior Living. It's three miles from my house. It's a beautiful facility. He has a nice room. The people there are very, very nice and very helpful. The food is okay. It's not the way I cook, but it's good. They have several programs during the day. When I go there to visit him, a lot of people are engaged in these programs, like games or doing things out in the dining room. My husband doesn't participate. He likes to stay by himself, though. It's kind of expensive, but it's a good place."

"The location of Wesley House was one reason we chose it for my mom. The cost was another thing. Memory care is a very small unit, and I feel like my mom would get individual treatment in a smaller unit. I think the staff is all great. I've met all the nurses and most of the nurse's aides. They're very sweet, very caring, and very kind. I'm very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. It is neat, clean, and up-to-date. I haven't seen anything that I didn't like. My mom is 95 years old and has been a little stubborn. She has not participated in many activities. But the family and some of the staff have gotten my mom to participate in some by encouraging her and being insistent. Even though we can't get my mom to join in all the time, they have some great stuff going on. I'm impressed with this place. They haven't done anything to make me think any less of them from the very first time I entered their doors. They're a good facility."

"We toured Trinity Timbers Assisted Living. They had a really good and friendly staff. You can tell they had good care providers, and they really care. The place was really clean. It had a fresh environment. They had a little patio, and they had a game room for the elderly. They had an activities coordinator, and they had games. They had a lot of stuff for a small community. It's a smaller place than other places here in Longview, but you can just tell this was more of a low-key place. They probably have anywhere from 11 to 13 residents, versus other places where they have 30 or 40 residents. You can tell the residents got a little bit more one-on-one care that they can provide."

"I liked Buckner Westminster Place, but it's too expensive for me. It offered everything that I wanted. It accepted pets, it had covered parking for my car and it had all the meals and light housekeeping. I liked the lady during the tour. She was nice. The receptionist was nice too. There was a group of ladies having bible study. The main thing that impressed me was the closet space. The ones I've looked at had more closet space than the rest of them, and they had laminate floors instead of carpeting. With my two dogs, I don't want carpeting."

"The tour was very nice. Everybody was receptive to whatever questions we asked and they answered what we wanted to hear. They showed me the cafeteria and the snack bar where they could go and get snacks. The rooms are nice. It was very clean. The dining area was very pleasant and accommodating. The staff is very nice and has a good personality."

"My mother will be moving into Southern Wind Manor. It was affordable, but also it's a smaller community and more of a family atmosphere and we liked that. Everything is well cared for. They have renovated everything including the floors and they've painted, so it's very clean looking. It's not super modern, but it is very nice. They have a person who gives them showers once a week. They have a beauty salon there. They asked us to eat there and their food was really good. They have a full-time nurse on staff, and they have a doctor that comes in once a week. It's a family-owned facility, so the guy that runs it is the son of the owner. The full-time nurse also takes care of a lot of things and so we talked with both of them, and they were very helpful. You can tell they care a lot about what goes on there. We liked them a lot."

"Wesley House is great. The staff is caring and they want mom to be happy and they're willing to do whatever it is. They're so helpful to us. I'm very pleased with them. She has one room, and it has a little kitchenette, a nice sized bathroom, a very large closet which is nice for her to have some storage, a full refrigerator, and a microwave, so it meets her needs for sure. They have a lot of different sitting areas throughout the facility. When we go, we don't have to sit in her room. We can go out to one of the many sitting areas and they have an activity room and the dining room. They have a nice library that's fully stocked with lots of books."

"I was very impressed with Wesley House Assisted Living. It's a beautiful place. However, they could not take my loved one because it was very expensive. Also, my loved one takes liquid morphine and she has control of it herself, but they said they couldn't have liquid morphine at the facility. So that cut them out from the get-go. However, if someone had the funds and didn't take liquid morphine, I would highly recommend it. And the community room was very nice. It's kind of like a big living room area. The rooms were small, but other than that, it was very good. And the staff who gave the tour did good. She was very nice."
