"Though not a new facility, the staff is exceptional and treat my mom and our family like their family. They are not shy to dismiss one from duty if the care is not up to par. I feel secure with leaving my mom in their care. "

"Longview Hill Nursing And Rehabilitation Center had the secure dementia unit that we were looking for, and it was only women, so that was important. It was clean, bright, didn't smell bad, and the staff and the residents that we saw on the tour looked happy and satisfied. We also had a family there in the past and they said they were good. Medicaid only pays for a semi-private, so that's what my mom will have. It's in a secure hallway that they can't get out of without somebody who knows the code. Each semi-private room has a bathroom and a shower. This had a toilet, sink, and shower that just the two people in the room had to share. They also do therapy. We looked at the list of activities on the board and they had a lot going on, like bingo and stuff. They have their own little sitting area with a TV, couches, and tables, and then they have their own enclosed little courtyard that they can go in and out of. Everything was nice looking. It's been recently remodeled and it was bought out by Regency Health Services, I believe, just last year."

"My 83 year old mother in law went to Treviso after a hip replacement. Dana Hoefstetler made the admitting process trouble free and greeted mom as a friend. The nurses eased her fears and took care of her for four weeks with kindness, respect, and understanding. The rehabilitation team worked daily helping her to regain her strength and have the confidence to resume her life . I visited her every day that she was there. I was very impressed by everyone involved in her care. Now she is back home. She is more active than she has been in years. She talkes about the time that her "friends" at Treviso took wonderful care of her ! If I ever had a need for this type of transitional care I would go there ."

"My brother is staying at Arbor Grace Guest Care Center. He likes doing the exercises with everybody, and he likes the food there. His room is adequate for him, and it's what he likes. They have a dining room. They play bingo and some groups come in. The staff there do their jobs. The place is clean, and it doesn't smell."

"My dad is going to rehab right now at Highland Pines and Nursing & Rehab. The staff has been great. They work with him very carefully. Overall, they are great. "

"I went to Whispering Pines Lodge I, but it was more of a nursing facility and my cousin didn't need that. She would have a shared bedroom, and it just didn't fit my cousin. It's a little bit older. It was more of a hospital atmosphere. The staff was wonderful. She wouldn't have gotten choices there. You just eat what they give you. They had bingo that was going on while I was there and they just had a Halloween party."

"Overton Healthcare Center's feel and personality fits the town in which it resides. It is a small, cozy, and friendly old nursing home. Its appearance on the inside and out is nothing special but the staff are friendly and seem knowledgable. Like I said, the inside of the nursing home is dated but appearances are not very important when choosing a nursing home. The care is what is critical. I've visited this nursing home on multiple occasions over the past few years. The staff were always helpful, the residents also seemed pleased with the care received. I've had several opportunities to speak with the administrative staff and they seem to genually care about their residents.The home doesn't smell and it appears to be clean. The residents looked well taken care of. I would feel comfortable placing my loved one at Overton Healthcare if needed. Overall, I rate this nursing home a four out of five. The reason I didn't give it a five is that it does not have some of the modeern amenities that some homes have and because it feels old. With so many choices of nursing home within 20 miles of Overton, this home provides a good option if your loved one grew up in the Overton, Arp, and troup area. "

"The staff at Park Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center does not respond immediately when my dad presses his call button. When they do, they tend to his needs but not adequately. It has a sad environment because a lot of people are out in the hallways yelling to help them, but the staff said not to mind them because they don’t know what they need."

"Azalea is not really nice, but my sister is getting good care. They took care of her. There are a lot of nurses and a lot of aides. She has to have a special kind of diet, and they accommodate that. Everyone has a private room. I think it is fine. "

"I have visited The Clairmont Nursing Home approximately ten times over the past three years. The Clairmont has recently been renovated (within the past couple of years) and has become a very nice looking home. I have had positive experiences while visiting with nursing home staff. They provide a good therapy program designed to help residents become more independant and possibly be able to go back home. The nursing home has 120 beds but it does not have that large nursing home feel to it. I have had a couple of friends that were residents of this nursing home and both them and their family was pleased with the care. I would trust placing loved one in this nursing home. The Clairmont is in a good location being within a mile of two hospitals and nearby many doctor's offices. While I believe this is a high quality care facility, I believe the food is average to below average from what I've seen. "

"I was thoroughly impressed with The Colonial. A friend of mine was previously employed there, and I decided to check it out to see if it would be a place I may want to volunteer for Hospice. The place was very clean, and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. I was given a tour of all wings and introduced to several clients. Every person I talked to made it a point to tell me how great the staff treated them, and several clients, as well as, employees welcomed me to volunteer. The dining hall was very large, and I was able to taste a sample of lunch. Pretty good! Most nursing homes/assisted living facilities have a certain unpleasant smell. The colonial smelled very clean. At no time was I subjected to urine or fecal odors.It may not sound like a big deal, but in a small town nursing home, it is! I have been to several nursing homes and assisted living facilities, but The Colonial is the only one that really impressed me in the east Texas area. "

"My husband is at UT Health Rehabilitation Hospital, and I would highly recommend this place. We had a good experience. The staff is excellent, and the food has been good. My husband is on a special diet here, and everything has to be chopped."

"My friend was at Waterton Healthcare & Rehabilitation. I didn't like it. There was a conflict with the medication. Before he had emergency surgery, he could dress himself and get coffee and make cereal in the morning. And now, he couldn't even sit down by himself when he came back. They overdosed him. They didn't listen to me when I told them the medication wasn't right. The staff was not very friendly. In the 20 days he was there, they moved him to three different rooms, and I don't know why. The rooms were nice. They were clean and he had physical therapy there. When my friend went there from the hospital, he was talkative and interactive and he could carry on a conversation. However, the last few times I went to visit, he was tired and sleepy. When I went to get him, he couldn't walk by himself and he couldn't even sit down anymore. The facility was nice, new, and clean. When he went there, he was able to walk with a cane, and then, later on, he couldn't walk by himself, and they never said anything about it. "
