"The staff at Park Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center does not respond immediately when my dad presses his call button. When they do, they tend to his needs but not adequately. It has a sad environment because a lot of people are out in the hallways yelling to help them, but the staff said not to mind them because they don’t know what they need."

"My friend was at Waterton Healthcare & Rehabilitation. I didn't like it. There was a conflict with the medication. Before he had emergency surgery, he could dress himself and get coffee and make cereal in the morning. And now, he couldn't even sit down by himself when he came back. They overdosed him. They didn't listen to me when I told them the medication wasn't right. The staff was not very friendly. In the 20 days he was there, they moved him to three different rooms, and I don't know why. The rooms were nice. They were clean and he had physical therapy there. When my friend went there from the hospital, he was talkative and interactive and he could carry on a conversation. However, the last few times I went to visit, he was tired and sleepy. When I went to get him, he couldn't walk by himself and he couldn't even sit down anymore. The facility was nice, new, and clean. When he went there, he was able to walk with a cane, and then, later on, he couldn't walk by himself, and they never said anything about it. "

"My stepfather is a resident of The Heights of Tyler. The place is amazing. The activities and the care that they provide are outstanding, I could not be happier. The staff, and everybody there, truly care about their residents. The facility one is very clean, and it stays clean. I have never found that facility or his room to be dirty. They take care of their residents and keep them clean. The activities that they recently did, were trunk or treat, which was a large activity. Then they had trick or treating, and also provided an outstanding Veteran's Day program and honored their veterans, which my stepfather is one of them. They have things coming up next month and all kinds of activities every day. They offer Bible study classes, games, and Bingo. There are so many things that they offer that get the residents out of their rooms to where they just have something to do and not just lay in the bed. We have kind of adopted his roommate, too. When we bring stuff to the facility for my stepdad, I bring extra for his roommate because they are two peas in a pod. His roommate is wheelchair-bound, and a lot of times you'll see his roommate pushing his walker and he's pushing the wheelchair."

"My friend was at The Center at Grande. That was a good place. They had good food there. He went to physical therapy. He liked having bacon every morning with his breakfast. He liked the food. His room was nice and clean. He even would have his TV on sometimes. And they took him to his doctor's appointment. I'll meet them at the doctor's office. He went and got a haircut and his beard shaved off, and he had a manicure and a pedicure. I never saw the dining area, but he always ate his meals in his room. They had a little activity room. If they were busy or if he was in therapy, I went in and worked on a puzzle. There was a little activity room. There was an outdoor space, but I never went and checked it out. I could see it from the parking lot. I'm not sure how big it was because I only saw part of it. I think daily he had physical therapy, Monday through Friday."

"Chandler Nursing Center was well laid out and clean. The staff was pretty caring. I liked that place, but they didn't want to take my husband because he drinks and were afraid he wouldn't stop. They had studios and shared rooms. They had a gym with machines, a game room, and a calendar of activities. It's well situated. The nurses were in a centralized place, and it goes off like a wheel into three different directions."

"My wife is in a nursing home called Bluebonnet Point Wellness in Bullard. The staff seems to be knowledgeable and attentive. They have a physical training area and various activities. I'm not sure of all the things they have but my wife is not able to move around by herself, so she has not participated in much of that. Her room is nice. It's equipped with a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. They seem to be very caring and forthright in their evaluations and opinions."

"Colonial Nursing Center in Lindale, Texas is a rather small nursing home in a growing community. I have visited this nursing home approximately 25 times in the past three years. During my visits I found staff members to be friendly and helpful. Administrative staff were accessibile and willing to answer my questions. The facility appeared clean and well run. The nursing home provides a wide variety of fun actvities for residents and travel events for those that want to get out for a while. Moreover, Colonial Lindale appears to have less staff turnover than many nursing homes. I regularly saw the same staff there each time I visited. I would have rated this nursing home a "five out of five" but it is not the nicest looking nursing home. Considering quality of care is what is most important this is really minor. That being said I would definately trust Colonial Lindale with caring for my loved one. It is a nice option if you live outside of Tyler. "

"My great grandmother was in Sunshine Nursing Home in New London, Tx where she developed bed sores and had nurses stealing her personal belongings. My family had heard good things about Overton Nursing Home so we decided to move her there. We were very pleased with our decision. She died in this home, and hospice/staff were there for us. Looking back, I would do it all again. "

"This is an assisted living home/nursing home. I went there to visit my grandmother a few times. I stayed there and ate lunch with her. The food there was very good, and they gave decent portions. The nurses that worked there seemed really friendly but they seemed like they were pretty busy sometimes. One time I showed up there early to have breakfast with my grandma and i went into the kitchen area and there was an old man sitting at a table by himself. As I passed by him, I realized he was choking on something and his face was turning blue. I immediately called one of the workers over to help because I did not know CPR. The old man was fine, however if I had not shown up when I did he would be dead. That was my only concern with this facility. It was very nice. The rooms were very spacious and the other people staying there were friendly. "

"my mother lived there for many years and recently died. they took great care of mother...they loved her !! I just can't tell them the nurses...so many that took care of mom !! you know who you are bringing fresh flowers and even singing Hank Williams with her!! You made her life happy and lets not forget ...you guys spoiling her too with food from "STACEY's "!!!! "The home may be old, but the staff are VERY friendly. Everyone greets you as you enter and all are eager to help in any way. The food is the best I have ever since in a nursing home and they are always happy to offer a guest tray when I would visit. The facility is clean and the care is exceptional. The activities are wonderful and range from the traditional Bingo to silly string wars and hallway bowling. They even have a monthly painting party and the residents get to paint a canvas with the direction of an artist. It is a joy to watch this activity. They are active in our community and the staff and residents attend most of the parades and events and have participated in the multiple floats in our local parades. The rooms are small but are very homelike with personal items and decorations. They have multiple outdoor areas for residents and family to visit and the flowerbeds are beautiful I would highly recommend this facility to anyone with a loved one in need!!"
