My great grandmother was in Sunshine Nursing Home in New London, Tx where she developed bed sores and had nurses stealing her personal belongings. My family had heard good things about Overton Nursing Home so we decided to move her there. We were very pleased with our decision. She died in this home, and hospice/staff were there for us. Looking back, I would do it all again.

Overton Healthcare Center's feel and personality fits the town in which it resides. It is a small, cozy, and friendly old nursing home. Its appearance on the inside and out is nothing special but the staff are friendly and seem knowledgable. Like I said, the inside of the nursing home is dated but appearances are not very important when choosing a nursing home. The care is what is critical. I've visited this nursing home on multiple occasions over the past few years. The staff were always helpful, the residents also seemed pleased with the care received. I've had several opportunities to speak with the administrative staff and they seem to genually care about their residents.The home doesn't smell and it appears to be clean. The residents looked well taken care of. I would feel comfortable placing my loved one at Overton Healthcare if needed. Overall, I rate this nursing home a four out of five. The reason I didn't give it a five is that it does not have some of the modeern amenities that some homes have and because it feels old. With so many choices of nursing home within 20 miles of Overton, this home provides a good option if your loved one grew up in the Overton, Arp, and troup area.
