The caregiving is excellent and the spotless home is located in a quiet neighborhood. Killo has been very responsive and attentive to my mother’s needs. "I liked Twin Rivers. It was small and intimate, and it was well-kept. I only met the salesperson. I didn't meet the nursing staff there. They had a salon, a gym, and they had physical therapy available. They also had social activities for their residents."

"My parents have moved into Brookdale Club Hill. There is a nurse on staff 24 hours. The doctor comes and sees them in their apartment, too. The food is good. The cleaning lady is good. It's all around a nice, clean place. The apartment is small but workable. There are lots of activities. Right now, my mother is in rehab with a partial hip replacement, so a lot of our time is spent at rehab. Before that, they did bingo, went to Walmart, went on outings, and went and saw bluebonnets. There is constantly something going on every single day."

"We liked Silver Creek Assisted Living. It was very clean. We noticed a lot of the staff even though it was a Sunday. They were very active, were working, and dispensing medications. People were out. They were not just tucked away in their rooms. There seemed to be a lot of activities going on. For a Sunday, we were very impressed. The rooms were small, which we expected. This facility has a respite room where we could pay and have my mother-in-law there if we want to go out of town or something. It's like a hotel if you will. It had a bed, a recliner, a TV, a mini kitchen, closet space, and a bathroom where you could walk into the shower and not have to step way over something to get there. It was big, so if you had something to sit on, you could shower that way if you wanted to. It was roomy. If you have a walker or you're in a wheelchair, it is all very compatible. The staff was very friendly. The gentleman that took us on a tour was not his regular job. When we got there, he was behind the main reception desk and then it was already planned because someone else came and went behind the reception desk when he took us on a tour. We had a great follow-up from the salesperson that set this all up. She was out of town that weekend. It was fabulous how well they all communicated and were able to back each other up."

"I went to Brookdale Summer Ridge. I liked everything about it. It was clean. They have a lot of activities. I didn't taste any of their food, but they say it's very good. The person who took us on a tour couldn't have been nicer or answered our questions better. Everything I saw looked great. I felt like the atmosphere was very nice. The people were very cordial, met me right on time, and showed me everything I wanted to see. I was looking for a two-bedroom and they did have it, and it was very nice. The dining area was large and there were flowers on every table. I saw the menu and it had quite a few choices."

"The Waterford is a fantastic place. My mother has been there for nearly three years and loves it. The staff is very caring and looks after the well-being of the residents. They keep me updated when I visit on how she is doing. They keep the residents active and engaged (my mother is in assisted living). The place is well-maintained and very clean. It's always a pleasure to visit and spend time there with my mom. My mother-in-law was there years ago as well. I highly recommend them."

"My mother has moved into The Wellington at Arapaho. She has been there for two months as a resident, but she was there for two weeks before that in assisted living. She liked it. We talked with the marketer, Jennifer, and she really helped in making our decision by explaining all the attributes that they had to offer. They wear their call buttons. They have one that they're supposed to press in the morning when they get up. They have a full-time chef. They're offered three meals today, but they also have a little kitchenette. They had different-sized units, but we opted for the unit that we had because it had a kitchenette. They have one that does not have a kitchenette, and then they have one that has a full-sized kitchen and has more than one bedroom. The tenants are very happy about being there. We did talk to a lot of the tenants there, and they all had a lot of good things to say about it. With all of that, it's pretty much cinched it in that that was where we were comfortable with leaving her, and she was very excited about moving there. She has access to a doctor and a nurse if it's needed, but she's pretty much self-sufficient. They have call buttons if they need it for assistance, like helping with the shower or changing the sheets on the bed, or something like that, but not so much medical-related. They have game rooms, craft rooms, a restaurant sit-down type of cafeteria, and a music area. Sometimes, they'll have people come in and play music at the facility. They'll have entertainment. They have all kinds of offerings. Sometimes, they'll have enough people to want to go to Windstar, or they have a shopping thing that they do. The food is very good."

"I toured Mustang Creek Estates - Allen, and my interaction with the staff there was just very warm and inviting. It was a very pleasant environment. Some residents were sitting and reading books in the living area. Some were going to play bingo in one of the other homes that was right there with the other residents. They were just laughing and having a good time playing bingo. The staff was very knowledgeable. The first thing we did was sit down with the director of sales. She went through every detail with us, gave us a pamphlet, and covered all the expenses. It was one of the all-inclusive places. So, they're not adding on every little bit, like if you need dressing care and this and that. They had the best value for the size of the room. They have two registered nurses per home, plus other CNAs and other staff. So, they had the best staff ratio with only 10 residents unless they had spouses. They had no more than 13 people and two RNs in every home. It's very clean, very inviting, and very roomy. We got to see empty rooms, but they also had residents who had agreed to show us their rooms, those that had been set up, and they were just very nice and friendly. The whole environment was saying, "This is where I want to put my mom.""

"I toured Brookdale Lake Highlands. I like the fact that it wasn't like a big facility because I don't need to have him in a big place. The person that I met with, Hailey, took me on a tour. Everything was nice, she explained everything, and then let me know if I had any questions because this was the first time I'd ever done this. Everything seemed great. They're accommodating to everything that I was asking, just certain things to keep my dad in his same routine. She was very informative, nice, and pleasant to talk to. My dad's on a special diet, and he's on a vegan diet. I asked if they could make sure that they were able to just accommodate him. It's not anything like crazy. He just doesn't eat meat, chicken or pork. I said, 'He's happy with scrambled eggs and potatoes every day if you let him. It's pretty simple. He just doesn't eat anything outside of that' and they're like, 'Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem.'"

"My parents will be moving into Rock Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care. They have a doctor visit twice a week that comes to the facility and they can make appointments with it versus having to leave the facility to go. The residents were pretty happy, and it was nice, clean, and updated nicely. Overall, it's a good place to be. The staff seems very good, too. They have an activity calendar. They have different levels of care based on what their needs are. Of course, they encourage people to be as independent as possible, and that was one of the things we were looking for, making sure that my parents stayed independent and that they felt like they had their own space or their own home. The staff was very, very helpful and knowledgeable. The assessment that they did seem to be very appropriate. "
