"Kiloo is the owner. She cared for my mother for about 6 years. When she opened Glorious, my mother moved from her home to the residential home. The care was impeccable. I think Kiloo and Mimi are the primary caregivers at this point. I can't say enough about the loving care that they gave to my mother. The food was fabulous. I would take in things from time to time kind of just a treat. They always provided good nutrition. Any kind of problem that popped up when my mother began not to eat solid food and couldn't chew, they came up with all sorts of solution. They put food together that she could eat. Mother had a large private bedroom with a private bath with a walk in closet. She brought her own furniture which we've allowed them to keep in case somebody comes through that doesn't have furniture or something. My mom was pretty much bedridden and she was not an active person. So they put her in a wheelchair and wheel her around. She pretty much wanted to stay in her room. She wasn't a social being. That was not really anything that they need to come up with for her. It's just a very loving Christian atmosphere. I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. They're just fabulous. "

"Twin Rivers Assisted Living had a Veterans Honor wall, which was extremely nice. They had pictures of the military members when they were young when they went in. The staff was very nice. The dining area was large and very nicely laid out. They had an arts and crafts and puzzle area and a little area where they could do physical fitness."

"We are choosing Brookdale Club Hill for my mom. It was a friendly and active environment. The staff was friendly and competent, as far as I could tell. The rooms looked good and they were big enough. It was a big community. We have not tried their food yet, but the menus looked great. They had beautiful dining areas. When we went over there, the residents seemed to be busy. They had a beauty salon and a laundry room."

Right by duke creek walking exercise trail and surf and swim gym. Have some classes that can check in to. Fire dept. in back door. "I liked Brookdale Summer Ridge because everything was on one level. The room was very nice. The staff member was very nice and answered all my questions. The dining area was very nice. The residents had assigned seats, which I thought was a good idea. They had a very nice enclosed garden area."

"My mom is at The Waterford at Plano and I like the atmosphere of the place. It's very clean and warm. The one-bedroom apartment is very nice, very big, and I like the way they're made. The showers are easily accessible and everybody has those little doors to their apartments decorated and show their own personalities. They encourage the seniors to get out and do things too. I also really like the fact that someone checks on my mother every day. She's 91 and whenever something needs to be fixed, they're just right there immediately. The closet space is very important for my mom as she likes to dress, especially when going to church, so it's just nice. She got her sofa and chair delivered yesterday and she went with us to pick up her stuff and decorate it there. She's really happy. The staff is very attentive, very polite, and they've all just been nice people. I have not seen any personal activities that they have been doing, but there's always something going on every day, like there's a young man coming in to play music for them, they do a lot of walking, they go out for somebody's birthday, they go out every week or something like go to Wal-Mart, go on outings, and what have you. She's got invites on the door since she's been there, so from the activities that they've offered her, they try to keep her pretty busy."

"I visited The Wellington at Arapaho. The staff was wonderful. They showed me around while they were in the process of remodeling. The rooms were small but very nice. The price was good. "

"I toured Mustang Creek Estates - Allen, and my interaction with the staff there was just very warm and inviting. It was a very pleasant environment. Some residents were sitting and reading books in the living area. Some were going to play bingo in one of the other homes that was right there with the other residents. They were just laughing and having a good time playing bingo. The staff was very knowledgeable. The first thing we did was sit down with the director of sales. She went through every detail with us, gave us a pamphlet, and covered all the expenses. It was one of the all-inclusive places. So, they're not adding on every little bit, like if you need dressing care and this and that. They had the best value for the size of the room. They have two registered nurses per home, plus other CNAs and other staff. So, they had the best staff ratio with only 10 residents unless they had spouses. They had no more than 13 people and two RNs in every home. It's very clean, very inviting, and very roomy. We got to see empty rooms, but they also had residents who had agreed to show us their rooms, those that had been set up, and they were just very nice and friendly. The whole environment was saying, "This is where I want to put my mom.""

"Brookdale Lake Highlands has been pretty good overall, but it's taken some time for the staff and my mother to figure each other out. It's very pleasant. My mother's room was quite nice. It was unfurnished but larger than any I have seen, and she has her own bathroom, plenty of closet space, and a pretty view. The dining room is very nice and large enough for everybody, but it's too dark. The staff has been very accommodating. "

"Our Aunt has been at Appletree Court for going on 4 years now. Right from the beginning and many times over, we have said, “We sure picked the right place!” They have been very accommodating to her needs and have worked to individualize her care as health and mobility have changed. Likewise, they have always made time to talk to us on the phone or meet in person with the family as we work together to problem solve issues for the best outcomes for our Aunt. As an example, they gave us “outstanding help” to make it possible to have our Aunt’s Birthday Party at Appletree, despite our fairly large family group! They provided all that we needed from chairs & tables to coffee to a private space to smiles for all the guests! It was a Great party and it was accomplished by the accommodations of the Appletree staff! They knew it was best for our Aunt to stay in-house and they made it happen! In addition, ALL the staff are very caring and positive and take an active interest in engaging the residents. You will find delicious food in the dining room, immaculate custodial care and a variety of activities every single day! So that is why we are very glad to be part of the Appletree Family! You will be, too! A Grateful Family "

"My mom has moved into Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was very nice. It has nice colors, and the residents seem to like it there. My mother has dementia, so sometimes you have good days and bad days. Overall, that's just her. The people there are very friendly, very watchful, and everything. They're taking very good care of her. The place is pretty clean. They play ball. They throw a ball around. They fold up some of the laundry. They paint and just stuff like that. They'd rather keep them busy doing things. When my mother has a good day, she's happy there. Sometimes though, she has a bad day (it's not their fault, it's just her). She doesn't even recognize me on those days. They all have, pretty much, a room to themselves. In some of the suites, they have a bathroom. The suite room where my mother is in shares the bathroom with her neighbor. They're both in wheelchairs. They have to be helped with that anyway, so it's not a problem. The room is very nice. It has a big window, so she can look outside if she wants to. It has plenty of room. I haven't tried the food, but I've seen it. It looks a lot like a balanced meal."

"I have two friends there at Vitality Court Texas Star. We celebrated one of my friends' birthday but we brought food in. I haven't eaten their food. I did go to a wine and cheese there, and it was a lot of fun. He's just in regular care. He's not in memory care. It's clean and the rooms were large. I found it very appealing. As a matter of fact, I put my wife on the waiting list there. They have a very pretty courtyard with ducks and a pond. When I visit my friend a lot of times when the weather permits, we sit outside and get fresh air. They take good care of them, but I haven't experienced any of the activities because when I come, we spend our time together. Live music comes in once a week. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and if I have any questions, they answer them promptly. They always set us up, so that I can visit my friend comfortably because he has Parkinson's and I appreciate that. His wife felt so comfortable with it, that she brought her father over there also, so she has two relatives in the same unit. I think they're very satisfied."

"Gracious Care Home - Allen was nice. The staff who assisted me with the tour was nice. It was like living at home because it was an actual house. It's just a single home in a neighborhood. It's not a normal facility like the other places. It was very small, so there would be lots of one-on-one attention. I think they said they only take 3 residents at a time. They only had one lady there at the time. They did home-cooked meals but they didn't have a meal plan or anything like that."
