"The Mustang Creek Estates - Sachse has six houses. They all have two types of houses, which are assisted living, assisted living plus, and memory care. They can start at one and then eventually go to the next one. And then finally the last step would be memory care. In each house, there are probably at least 12 rooms. Usually, there's just a single person who lives in each room. But in memory care, there are some doubles. Everyone eats at a dining area up front. It's an open-concept kitchen area, so when they're cooking, you can smell it throughout the house, which was a big draw for me. They have a living area up front as well where they can watch TV, sit on the couch, and visit with their friends. They have entertainment. They do little activities and things like that. They do have like the assisted living buses that will take them on some cute little field trips every once in a while. Memory care doesn't get out as much because it's a little too hard for them. The residents seem to be very pleasant there, and the people that work there are nice and helpful and so far, so good. My mom is very happy there. If I ask the staff questions or like I'll ask them to maybe change something, maybe with something that my mother does, they are very good about it. They don't mind. They dress her in memory care, help her fix her hair, make her bed, and help her out a lot. So, that's very nice. And when I tell them that I'm going to be coming to bring her for a doctor's appointment, they have her ready to go for me."

"My aunt moved into Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care 2 weeks ago. So far, everything has been very good. She has a private room, but it was a shared bathroom. They do not have private bathrooms available. The common areas are adequate, and they seem good. It's the memory care area, so it's kind of scaled down. The staff seems to be good, especially the supervisor- level people. There is an onsite beauty shop. They have ball toss games, exercise videos, tactile, and activity mats. But there needs to be more interaction to draw the residents out of their rooms. The physical condition of the building is good, and it is kept clean. It is an older facility, but it has been well-maintained and updated."

"We moved my mom in after living in another memory facility. The difference is night and day. Everything is kept very clean, the staff is friendly and consistent and management is very responsive to questions or concerns. The rooms are nice and the open living concept helps with socialization for residents. Nothing is going to be perfect, but Avilacare comes very close."

"My aunt has been a resident there or 10 months. I can't say enough about to patience of the leadership and staff. The facility is very nice and the individual rooms AR very nice as well. There are a lot of activities for the residence and everyone seems to enjoy the meals. I've been very happy with my decision to place my aunt that New Haven."

"My father-in-law has moved into Colonial Oaks at Campbell Park. What I like best is that it's practically one-on-one care. I'm not sure I have anything I dislike yet. His room is 250 square feet, and for a memory care patient, that's a lot of room, because he's also a fall risk, and so the less space the better for him. It's practically one nurse for every patient, so it's a great ratio there. The staff is exceptional. The facility is beautiful, well kept, very clean, and it looks like a hotel. The value for the money is excellent."

"I am going to move to Lynridge Assisted Living next month. It was only 10 years old and it's nice. Everything was well kept up. They had an enclosed interior courtyard and it looked like a very pleasant place to live. The 1-bedroom apartment was too small, and I had to get a 2-bedroom apartment just to be able to get in there. It had a full-scale refrigerator and a sink, but you don't cook there because they provide you with 3 meals a day. They had all sorts of entertainment there. They had a very nice dining room and they served me a very good meal."

"We went to check out the Loyalton of Lake Highlands for our aunt. The grounds were nicely designed with plenty of benches and lovely greenery. Residents can use the computer, do arts and crafts, enjoy games and many parties and social events with each other and friends and family. All of the rooms were clean, bright and well maintained. The decor was different in each room with plenty of comfortable furniture. The private living areas afforded a luxury decor, still with a homey feel. Nice decorations and personalization. The residents really seemed to enjoy the living environment. The casual and formal dining options included varied menus of healthy and nutritious foods. All of it looked delicious, smelled great and seemed nutritious for every dietary need, too. The snacks looked really nutritious and are offered anytime the residents want them. The residents engage in a lot of scheduled physical activity such a classes for aerobics and yoga, or use the equipment with assistance as needed. They can also enjoy walking outdoors during the day. The facility is very near the Dallas metro region where they often visit museums, galleries, music venues, go shopping and enjoy both casual and fine dining establishments. They are many nearby medical offices and they are also close to the highway for easy visitation from friends and family. The residents appeared to be very happy here -- well cared for by kind and caring staff. The staff goes out of their way to ensure the comfort of the residents they are entrusted with. "

"The lady at Long Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care, Melody, gave me a full view of the whole facility. I liked all the activities that they provide. The tour advisor stated that they do keep a consistent eye on their residents, making sure that nothing potentially bad could happen to them. I liked their ability to be driving them to different things, like Walmart and all that. Melody was very helpful. She did go a step above and beyond to the extent that even if their facility was not something that could be chosen, she helped to provide information to be able to assist going forward in looking for a facility. So, she did give extra information just to be able to further assist. The dining room was nicely decorated and definitely had good, sufficient space. There was no tight knit corner and it was nicely designed and laid out. It was a fairly new facility. They had a decorated courtyard, a salon, games, and recreation type of room, and an area that's designated for rehab."

"My mother recently moved to Glorious as she can no longer live independently. The name is perfect — it is glorious! She has her own furniture and immediately felt right at home. The caregiving is excellent and the spotless home is located in a quiet neighborhood. Killo has been very responsive and attentive to my mother’s needs. A home health nurse told me this home is one of the best she’s seen. I was blessed to find such a wonderful place for my mom. It brings me peace to know my mother is receiving such outstanding care. "

"I liked Twin Rivers. It was small and intimate, and it was well-kept. I only met the salesperson. I didn't meet the nursing staff there. They had a salon, a gym, and they had physical therapy available. They also had social activities for their residents."

"We visited the memory care of Cambridge Court. It was very clean and very nice. At one time, we had decided to put my dad in there after he came out of rehab, but we have decided to just stay home. We were very pleased with it. The staff was very nice, very courteous, and very helpful."

"I've been at The Wellington at Arapaho for about three months now. What I like most are the caring caregivers. The facilities are very modern and up-to-date. The little kitchen area is very convenient and really easy to use. I'm living in a studio. The food is average. I would imagine the activities are very good. I haven't been able to participate in very many of them because I just came out of the hospital with a broken hip. Value for money is average to very good."
