"My dad moved into The El Dorado. Everything is very well kept. He was able to move into a freshly painted room, and they had just redone the floors and everything. But I think the biggest thing so far has been the people, the concierge, and the director. Everyone we have encountered has been wonderful there. They're bending over backwards to help us, even going as far as to help us recommend different companies we could work with to assist us with the VA benefits. So, they've been great. The whole community is really nice. They have 24-hour care if needed. He has a monitor that he can click, and there's somebody on hand 24 hours. They serve three meals a day and snacks. They have scheduled activities every day. He's already gone to a casino with the group. They go to the grocery store a couple of times a week. They take people to their doctor's visits. They even have somebody come in and clean once a week. So, he's loving everything about it. I have not tried the food, but my niece and nephew did. My dad has said that everything's really good. It's a nice variety. He says they give you a salad every day with your lunch. And they usually have a couple of different choices. I think he may have skipped one meal there. He has a refrigerator in his apartment as well. Everything so far is so good. He enjoyed it. The food has been good. It's an older building. I'm sure there are some repairs that they could do, but they keep it very well maintained and clean."

"I toured The Reserve at North Dallas. The apartments were very new, with huge closets and big rooms. The kitchen was very nice with some granite countertops. They had some good choices of food. And if you didn't like what they were serving, they had other food available for you that you could get, kind of what they always have. The outside was nice. The places, community rooms, and community spaces looked nice, along with all the activities they provided, and there were lots of choices. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, had lots of great information, was very friendly, and took the time. The residents were nice. Some of them were sharing their stories and what they liked about them. So, that was good too."

"The Forum is such a warm and welcoming place for my mom. She absolutely loves it there. There are so many great activities for an active senior, like line dancing, casino trips, poker and bridge tournaments, going out to dinners and the symphony. There is a daily exercise class, yoga, art classes and live musical entertainment and guest speakers multiple times a week. The brand new assisted living community is GORGEOUS and VERY well appointed with every attention to detail. The rooms are very spacious and the food is AMAZINGLY delicious. The Forum is SUPRISINGLY affordable compared to other communities some which charge double for HALF the Value. I am thrilled that my mom will be spending the happiest years of her life at the Forum with over 100 brand new best friends."

"I toured about 6 different independent living places in the Dallas area before deciding on Meadowstone. My decision was based on 1. the friendliness, competence and caring of the then marketing director who is now the executive director and 2. the friendliness of the residents who came to meet me while I was having lunch there as part of my tour and 3. the fact that meals were optional and 4. that the apartments all had balconies and were open to the outside and 5. that the grounds were well maintained and filled with all kinds of plants and flowers. I've been here for about a year and a half and it was absolutely the right choice for me."

"My parents have been living at Liberty Heights for over 4 years now. They enjoy it. I enjoy the community. They enjoy the people that live there, and it certainly met their expectations. They have a 2-bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms, a small kitchenette, a fairly large living, and a dining room. They do field trips once a week. They have a library, a theater, a billiard room, and a place where they play cards and dominoes. There is also a full kitchen that the residents can use. The meals are included too."

"I toured Edgemere. They had a lot of amenities. The indoor pool was nice. The rooms were nice, too. However, the closet space was too small. They had a library and an entertainment space. The cleanliness was excellent."

"I am 100% happy here at Atria Canyon Creek. I’ve been here for about four years. I have a beautiful apartment, and I love the people here. I am involved in all kinds of activities and have actually put 2 new programs together for the people here. There are probably 260 people here, and I think I know about 200 of them by first name, so I am very delighted with my experience here. "

"My dad stayed in the independent living facility here. He lived by himself when my mom was in their nursing home for a couple of months. It was an older facility. It was also small. Their apartments were very small and very antiquated too. However, my dad liked this facility. He made many friends there. He would go and meet with other people and eat with them. They have a once-a-week happy hour, but I would have to say that they did not have as many events as the other facility. Nevertheless, their community areas were very nice. Actually, everybody there was nice. The staff was also wonderful. "

"I loved The Waterford at Plano. The residents were really involved and happy. It was dinnertime, and they came to us and introduced themselves. We got to tour an apartment, and I got to see the menu. I would stay there. It was really great. The director of the facility was awesome. Even though we couldn't work it out with the independent living there, he still followed up with us. I was very impressed with that place. I highly recommend them. They had crafts, outings, movie nights, they had their own salon, a library, and people that come in and do different functions. The dining area looked like a restaurant. It's a very beautiful place. Everyone had their own apartments."

"My mom is in Belmont. It’s a very good assisted living place. It’s very impressive, and super clean. It has very friendly staff, and a lovely physical facility. "

"Solstice Senior Living at Plano only has independent living. There are no other types of residents available, which is different from some facilities. It's a two-story building and has a pleasant look and feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer three meals a day that are included in the base rent. They have a full-time activities director and they do various types of classes, some of which are daily, some are weekly. They have a weekly outing, like a lunchtime trip, for all who want to go. They go to different places, not just the same one each time, like shopping spots. They have a business area with computers for residents to use, but the feature that was important to us is that some of the units have either a private patio on the first floor or a balcony on the second floor. So, they are probably one of the most cost-effective communities offering the types of services and amenities that I described."

"My sister moved into Parkview in Allen. It's excellent. She's in an apartment and it's excellent as well. They have swimming, they take people to activities, and they play Bridge. They do all kinds of things. They have a library and a beauty salon."
