"We toured Emerson On Harvest Hill. It was very nice. The location was good. The staff was very friendly, and so were the people staying there. We did have lunch, and the lunch was pretty good. The facility seemed clean. I have no complaints about it. It was a very nice tour, and the person who gave the tour was very friendly, showed us everything that we were interested in, and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. The dining area was nicely set up. We sat down, and they brought the food to us. It was nicely laid out. The staff was very nice, and got the food on time."

"The main reason we moved Mom to Whiterock Court was the location. I also like her studio, which has an outdoor patio, and its people (some of the people there are from her original community). The facility is excellent. The food is fine. They have social activities and games. They also have transportation to stores. They're very attentive."

"My mother is staying at The Waterford at Plano. They're very friendly and very caring. It's a very clean place. She has a large one-bedroom apartment on the second floor. It's really wonderful and helpful. They have a lot of activities, a library, a piano, a dining room, and that includes food. They have TV rooms, game rooms, and activity rooms. I looked around and that seemed like the best place and I really liked the place. It's a great value."

"My mother is at The Forum at Park Lane. She was already in independent living with a sister placement and she just wanted to continue with them. She's doing well there and they're wonderful to her. They have been good to work with as we're helping her adjust. She loves the food and she's not loved the food everywhere she's been. That's important for a senior whose life is limited. They have incredible menus to choose from. They have helpers where she pushes the button and they come to help her and they're pretty quick about it. Of course, they could be busy with someone else and she might have to wait, but most of the time, they're quick and they come to help her with whatever her needs are. They have concerts every week and they have games and things. It's expensive, but it's not as expensive as some others we looked at."

"Landon at Lake Highlands is independent living with extra assistance if needed. The staff is very friendly. They have a very low turnover rate. This place has been open for 17 years, and they have someone who has been working here since the beginning of the conception of the agency. I like that about it. It seems like they like to work here, and they're not here for a paycheck, which is nice. They have a pool that is open during the warmer season. I like that because I can do water exercises for my arthritis. They also have a physical therapist on staff which is helpful as I'm recovering from a knee replacement surgery. I have a two-bedroom apartment, but they also have one-bedrooms and studios. The apartments are very nice. Housekeeping is included as part of the rent that you pay. They have washer and dryer hookups in the apartments, so you can do your laundry in your apartment instead of having to use a public machine. I like that, too. They provide full kitchens in the apartments. If you choose to do your own cooking, you can. You can benefit from their prepared meals as well. The chef is very good. They provide three meals a day, and they're open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., which is kind of nice. I'm blind, but my relatives said it's a very clean place. I also think it's well-kept. I have not experienced any activities as of yet because this is my third weekday. However, they have lots of activities. They also have nondenominational worship services on the premises. It is a pet-friendly community, which I like because I want to get a dog. My brother said that they have a fitness center and a gym with some nice equipment."

"We moved into Solstice Senior Living at Plano. Everyone here is very friendly and outgoing. Generally, I like the people here. The ones that are in charge are really concerned about our welfare, really caring, and interested in how we feel and what's going on with us. Our room is comfortable, adequate, and nice. We haven't had any bad food yet at all. It's very good. It's very comfortable, clean, warm, and inviting."

"My sister and I went to Sunrise of Plano. It was beautiful. It was very nice and very spacious. They have a lot of areas, like a hair salon and a place to watch movies, so it's very nice. The people were very nice, but not a lot of them speak Spanish. The common areas were very nice, spacious, and clean."

"We're very happy with Edgemere. It's very clean. The people are pleasant. They take good care of us. The meals are good. Maintenance and housekeeping are all good. They have a Bible study that we go to. They have a lot. We do movies and stuff. It's worth the money."

"I liked the Tradition - Lovers Lane very much. I looked at independent living. I think by the time I move I may go into assisted living, but I loved it. The rooms were very nice. They had an art studio because I paint. Everything was very clean and neat. I have not had a meal there, but I hear the food is very good. I haven't really met anybody or had anything to eat there, but I was impressed. I liked everything. Why I really looked there is because it was right next to Central Market and I love Central Market. The woman who toured me couldn't have been nicer. I met a couple of people who work there and they were very nice, too. She was excellent. She asked all the questions, and she showed me everything that I was interested in."

"My aunt will be moving into The Conservatory at Plano. The staff was outstanding, very friendly, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions. They gave a good tour of the facilities and told us about all the amenities. The facility was beautiful. I loved all the amenities. The apartment units were all very nice. I didn't try the food, but my aunt and my cousin tried it, and they said it was delicious. My aunt is so excited to be moving there. She can't wait. She loved it."

"I toured the independent living community of Ariel Pointe of Sachse Senior Living. The residents were friendly, and they all looked engaged in doing something. The apartments were very nice, and their layout is wonderful. They have different options to meet everybody's needs, like how some of the residents have fenced backyards, and they all have pretty patios and balconies. It's just a really nice facility. The person who gave the tour was amazing. She was very friendly, answered our million questions, and even let us take pictures. She had also followed up with us really well. They have a beauty salon, a pet groomer, and a place where physical therapists can come and work. They also have a gym."

"We loved Briarview and if we could afford it, that's where I would put my mother. It is private pay. It's an assisted living place where most of the clients will move over to the memory care facility afterward. It was very nice. We sat and chatted with Janice for over an hour and a half. I knew that if we had the money, I think my mother would love it. We saw the floor plans, but we didn't sit down and eat the food. We talked to a couple of people. They just loved it there. My mother would have to be in memory care. My very first impression of the staff was outstanding. It didn't smell like a place that was trying to hide anything. That would be where I would want to stay if it were me and that's where I would like for my mother to stay if we have the money. It would cost us anywhere from $5000 to $9000 a month to put her there and we don't have that money and they're only private pay. That's the downside. You first go in, they make you feel welcome. We talked to another gentleman whose parents had been there for a while. The staff seemed happy to see their clients. The memory care is on the opposite side of the grounds and it's a locked facility. I liked it. What I saw was great."

"My parents have moved into Brookdale Club Hill. There is a nurse on staff 24 hours. The doctor comes and sees them in their apartment, too. The food is good. The cleaning lady is good. It's all around a nice, clean place. The apartment is small but workable. There are lots of activities. Right now, my mother is in rehab with a partial hip replacement, so a lot of our time is spent at rehab. Before that, they did bingo, went to Walmart, went on outings, and went and saw bluebonnets. There is constantly something going on every single day."
