"I will move into The Reserve at North Dallas. I liked it because it was very clean and nice, and there were a lot of people who worked there in the hallway. The room was very nice. We looked at the room, and a friend of mine came with me. The lady who helped us was excellent. Her name's Brittany. She answered all our questions, and she wasn't pushy. They have a refrigerator and a stove. They have a full kitchen, and they also have washers and dryers. They drove across town to come to pick me up because I was wheelchair-bound, and I didn't have a way to get over there. So, they used their vehicle and came over across town, picked me up, and took me over to the place. Then, I took a tour, and they brought me home. The food was good, but they accidentally brought me one of the wrong things."

"I moved to Atria Canyon Creek. I like the amenities here, but I think the single biggest factor why I chose to be here was that it's close to my daughter. Everybody that I have met so far has been very friendly and very informative. The food is great. We get breakfast and dinner, and there's a large variety. You could be as active as you want to be as there are many different things to do. You aren't limited to just 1 or 2 activities. They even have learning experiences. My apartment is larger for my needs at a comparable price. The staff has been very good and very responsive. Everything is nice, clean, and neat. In comparison to what other facilities cost, Atria Canyon Creek is a much better value."

"The Tradition - Lovers Lane is very positive and excellent. I visited both the independent and assisted living. The food was good, the atmosphere in the dining room was excellent, and my impression of the staff was very positive. Shopping is convenient and there's a large grocery store across the street that has a bank and a pharmacy. There's also other commercial shopping less than five-minutes away."

"I toured the Alexis Estates Gracious Retirement Living. I liked it. It was nice, but it just didn't have very much to do. They don't have the cooking facility. They have the hot plate, and I wasn't interested in that. The staff was very hospitable and very accommodating. They invited me to dinner. They came out to the house where I was staying with my daughter and son-in-law, and brought me a gift as a thank you for coming to view their facility. The facility is beautiful, and they've only been open a few months."

"I toured Edgemere. They had a lot of amenities. The indoor pool was nice. The rooms were nice, too. However, the closet space was too small. They had a library and an entertainment space. The cleanliness was excellent."

"Belmont Village Turtle Creek is more like luxury apartments with extra amenities and services than kind of a medical facility. The traditional assisted living is fine, but they kind of stepped it up, and it's very home like and very catered to the needs of the client. The rooms were very spacious, very bright, with lots of windows. They had a lot of options for the type of floor plan. They really had an eye to individualized service, from what I've seen. This was just the initial tour, but there was a lot of activity in the hallway in a good way. Clients were out. In a couple of the places I've gone to, there's nobody in the halls, the lights were off, and it's kind of dark, but this place was vibrant and active. Not just listening to what the tour person, Vivian, was talking about, but like observing what was actually happening with the clients. It's going to be such a perfect place for my husband, who thrives on the social, but just can't get around as easily. They had an extensive menu and my husband has a specialized diet. He's pescatarian, so he only eats fish and vegetables, and they had a lot of selection for him. They have a meat and a fish and a pasta every day. It looks like chef-inspired meals. I got that from the menu. I didn't actually eat the food. The staff was very good. I met everybody. I met nurses and caregivers and a janitor lady. Everybody was friendly and just seemed comfortable there. It's a beautiful facility. It is very expensive, but really quality care. I think this is going to be it for us. They had a chapel, a movie theater, and a pool. They had everything."

"We loved Briarview and if we could afford it, that's where I would put my mother. It is private pay. It's an assisted living place where most of the clients will move over to the memory care facility afterward. It was very nice. We sat and chatted with Janice for over an hour and a half. I knew that if we had the money, I think my mother would love it. We saw the floor plans, but we didn't sit down and eat the food. We talked to a couple of people. They just loved it there. My mother would have to be in memory care. My very first impression of the staff was outstanding. It didn't smell like a place that was trying to hide anything. That would be where I would want to stay if it were me and that's where I would like for my mother to stay if we have the money. It would cost us anywhere from $5000 to $9000 a month to put her there and we don't have that money and they're only private pay. That's the downside. You first go in, they make you feel welcome. We talked to another gentleman whose parents had been there for a while. The staff seemed happy to see their clients. The memory care is on the opposite side of the grounds and it's a locked facility. I liked it. What I saw was great."

"The food was very good at Pioneer Ridge; however, they were not able to show me a room. The residents I talked to were very good, and we had a good conversation. It's number one on my list so far."

"Emerson at Rosemeade Park was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The square footage was a lot smaller than I expected though but I understand why the building was set up that way."

"The best place I have visited is Evergreen. My mom is on the wait list there. It is wonderful. It is clean, well run, and very nice. There are no strange odors. The carpet and windows are clean. They have a kitchen downstairs but there's also a kitchen area in the apartments. The apartments are updated; I couldn't see any evidence of wear and tear. It was just very nice. The staff member that I met was very friendly and relaxed. I didn't see anyone that looked uptight or upset."

"We put a deposit down at Alders Rockwall. It's very clean, and it's a new development. They have about twenty-five residents in there right now because it's brand new. It has only been open like three weeks. It's just a nice place, and it is sort of hidden. It's not open where there's a lot of noise, and my wife likes that. The staff was really nice. My wife cooks, but they have continental breakfast down there during the week. They had coffee and snacks, and it was good. They have a heated pool, a spa, and a miniature-golf putting course. The outside is really nice. They have a media room, a game room, a library, a parlor for women to get their hair done, and a nail salon. They also have an art room for people who like creative arts."

"I am in a cottage in Orion Rockwall with two bedrooms and two baths, a study that can also be made into a bedroom, and an attached two-car garage. They provide meals if you want to eat in the community. They have people who would clean your apartment if you want them to, at a charge. They provide different activities, games, and a workout place. There are 13 cottages within the complex all on one street. To me, their price is too high, but it meets my needs. On Friday nights, they have a music program where different people come in and provide music, and the residents can dance. They also have a mystery book club."

"I've chosen the Gala at Fate for my parents. They're doing pretty good. It's an apartment for 55 and up. The staff was pretty darn good. Alyssa, in particular, was great. She's helped us a lot through the process. It's all brand new, so it's beautiful. It's not finished yet, and it seems to be taking a while. That's my only complaint. They haven't finished the laundry rooms, they haven't finished the salon, and they haven't finished the walking paths. There's stuff that needs to be finished. This place is based on income."
