Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County

This program aims to help vulnerable seniors in Rockwall County to live independently for as long as possible. Volunteers deliver hot nutritious meals Monday to Friday and offer human contact and support services. The meals are monitored by a licensed dietician to ensure they meet state health regulations. To be eligible, seniors must be age 60 or over or totally disabled, be housebound and nutritionally at risk. 

Texas Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

This federally funded program provides energy assistance to low-income families in Texas. The program is for households who cannot afford to pay their high energy bills, with priority given to the elderly and individuals with disabilities. The program provides financial assistance with energy bills (up to eight of the highest bills of the year) and education to reduce future energy costs. 

Weatherization Assistance Program

The WAP provides residents of Rockwall County with home improvements to improve energy efficiency. The program is federally funded and carried out by local providers. To be eligible, applicants must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (e.g. maximum yearly income of $25,760 for a one-person household). Successful applicants receive a comprehensive energy analysis and services such as weather stripping windows, caulking and wall insulation. 

Commodity Supplemental Food Program

The CSFP provides nutrition services to 13 counties of Texas, including Rockwall. The service is provided by the North Texas Food Bank and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
