We are using Home Helpers Home Care of McKinney for my husband because one, they're prompt. Number two, they always show up, and number three, we like the individuals who interact with my husband. The caregivers were male, which is fine. They're good with him. They talk with him, and he talks with them about his life experiences. He enjoyed it with them. The value for my money is very good.

We are very happy with Flo and the person she has sent to help care for my husband. Evan has a great personality and he and John have really bonded. At this point he is more of a "companion" to John giving me some much needed time to take care of the home and to see to John's personal care. That will change in the future as the Parkinson's progresses. Thank you Flo, and Evan, for your attention to us.

Home Helpers Home Care of McKinney helps us change my sister's diapers, feed her, get dressed, and give her showers. I was having them take care of her 24 hours for the first couple of days, and now I'm weaning her off of them because she's in assisted living care now and they have aides there. Everything that Flo is doing is wonderful. She's great. I love the caregivers. We have a girl called Julie and a girl called Portia, and they're fabulous. There's less of a stress on having these familial caregivers. You have people coming in and taking care of the person that needs help rather than you being there constantly and it's very important because you still have to have a life for yourself, too. It's very time-consuming. It's very draining emotionally and physically. As we get up in years, it's harder to do, so I am very blessed to have met Flo and her team.

We had Home Helpers Home Care of McKinney for 19 days, but not every day. From the beginning, they helped mom to the bathroom with toileting and everything when she was still walking. They gave her showers and then a sponge bath and just did everything. They helped us once we brought the hospital bed in, how to work with the bed, and how to do the sheets so that we could roll Mom. They suggested things that would make it easier for her. They brushed her hair, put lotion on her, and talked to her. They did the laundry and helped my dad with changing the sheets. They did the dishes, did some light cooking, and cleaned the bathrooms. The billing is done with my dad. So as far as I know, it was a once-a-week billing. We worked with Flo who came in. We did the original set scheduling and then Bertha was our aide who was available to help as we needed her more. She was coming in two times a day for a little bit and came in on a couple of weekends.
