Waterford, Virginia, is a small hamlet just northwest of Washington, D.C. The entire community is noted as a National Historic Landmark District for the preservation of 18-19th-century buildings and character. Seniors who enjoy history may find plenty of interesting things to learn about here. The Leesburg Senior Center also offers opportunities for the elderly to explore different hobbies or simply meet new friends. With about 1 in 10 of Waterford’s population aged 65 or older, the senior center can be very active.
The nearby Leesburg Premium Outlets shopping center is a popular destination for seniors who enjoy shopping, with a wide variety of options to buy or simply window-shop. The temperate climate in Waterford, as well as its proximity to the nation’s capital for big-city needs, makes it an attractive place for the elderly to retire.
Many seniors in Waterford opt to age in place, remaining in their homes and familiar surroundings. To help these individuals retain their independence, the Waterford area has several highly qualified home health care and chore assistance, or homemaker, services. The cost of these, according to Genworth’s Cost of Care 2018 Survey, averages $22.50 per hour for homemaker assistance and $23.38 for home health care. For reference, the national average for these services is $21 and $22, respectively. Waterford seniors can budget and average of $4,290 to $4,458 per month for home assistance.
Note: Home health care cost data was not available for Waterford, so data for the closest city, Washington, D.C., was used here.
At Caring.com, we’ve compiled a comprehensive directory of every home care provider in the Waterford area – complete with types of care provided, services offered and reviews from families who’ve actually used the service. In addition to our in-depth provider listings, we’ve compiled a list of resources to help seniors and their families access all the tools they need to age in place safely and gracefully.

what we mean by client-centered care:

Our goal is to provide our clients a chance to live or recover and happily manage
healthier lives at home.

You determine the hours of care you need and we will work with you to meet your
individual needs, in other words we do not advocate for a one size fits all model.

We are probably the most affordable in the region for a fully licensed, insured and
bonded agency, letting you enjoy affordable care and peace of mind. We keep
our expenses low by not running expensive advertisement campaigns and this
allows us to save you money.

Our contracts are simple with no long term commitments and we will even let you
try us for a week with no strings attached.

Our caregivers go through an extensive health and background checks and are
also trained on company policies and procedures.

Our caregivers often live in the communities they serve. We are confident our
staff will exceed your expectations.

We are willing to accommodate you if you are in need of a caregiver with certain
language requirements.

We require our caregivers to be COVID free and perform testing as warranted.

Three agency owners, John, Jim and Niran met at a previous work place and
formed the agency based on their own difficulties experienced while looking for
quality care for their parents and loved ones. They are approachable and just a

My mother had Alzheimer and in bad health after she had a fall and broke her ankle. She required a lot of care and I did it myself for the first year but I need to have some more help. I called a couple of different agencies and I liked Kaltoon. I thought she was real helpful and she was local and I like that. She just went above and beyond the call of duty and I really enjoyed working with her. The caregiver was wonderful- Lulu was terrific! She helped my mom with pretty much of everything she needed. She was extremely good and was very compatible with my mom. I couldn’t ask for anyone better.

Chris was a godsend in my search for senior caregivers for my parents. I was tired of searching and trying new caregivers from different firms every few weeks, but to no avail. My parents were also a bit hesitant about getting care from unfamiliar people. Fortunately, I found Always Best Care’s website on the internet. I called them, ready to be disappointed again. But, I was never let down by Chris and his team. They were very understanding and offered the most suitable caregivers for my parents’ care. Without their help, I would still be stuck in the painful process of finding caregivers and being disappointed. I would recommend Always Best Care to everyone.

We tried them for months
They would promise and promise and
never come thru with what they promised they could do for us
We had some very specific needs that we made clear to them
They will tell you what ever you want to
or need to hear
They sent 2 people over who barely spoke english and seemed to have little if any actual training. Nice enough people, but
we were paying out of pocket for trained aides, not someone needing training.
We got one good person but they left the company
The more we dealt with the office the more
questionable they seemed to us.
Another hospitalization gave us a chance to change, and try a different company
Much better
Better communication

I worked with Comfort Keepers for my mother for over a year. We had a hands-down excellent experience with them. We hired them as in-home care from 11 a.m. until after dinner. The caregiver would come in at 11, prepare lunch for my mom, do light housework and entertain her. They were just wonderful and they were sweet to her. They took care of the medical appointment she had, they managed her medication, and they made dinner for her. They stayed with her through dinner and put the breakfast in the refrigerator for her so that when she wakes up in the morning, she could get into the kitchen and make herself a cup of coffee and have a little breakfast. It worked out beautifully for quite awhile until her health started failing. That’s what Jennifer, our caregiver, provided for us when we were using her through Comfort Keepers. She really was eyes and ears for the family because none of her children live in the Virginia area. We really needed someone to organize everything. She watched the house, she watched the mails, she watched the meds, she watched my mother, she took care of grocery shopping, she did all of her driving for her and took her everywhere. She was a lifesaver. In terms with working the administration, they were very good, too. We went through 3 or 4 different women before we landed on Jennifer, but they worked really hard to find the right kind of match for my mom and made sure that the caregiver was what my mother was comfortable with. She became part of the family over the course of the year.

Our mother is 88 years young and valiantly striving to maintain her independence despite some health set backs over the last six months. Fortunately, she has had the help of Guardian Angel Home Health care providers over the past 5 months. She was receiving care from this same agency while recovering from an accident and was in the process of gradually diminishing her home care, when suddenly she was hospitalized for a serious ailment. Upon her release Guardian Angel was able to provide a care giver on very short notice. This was no small concern for our immediate family that this was the second time they were able to come to our rescue with very little lead time. She has continued her home care with Guardian Angel and is very pleased with her daily care giver and all the things this helper is available to do. We are especially thankful that the care giver is able to be present for her bathing to ensure her safety while doing so, not to mention running errands and taking her to many of her appointments. Her care giver has certified credentials and is very knowledgeable about the medications that are all new to our mother, and have to be taken at different times of the day.
Guardian Angel has been most cooperative for all billing requests, we requested to be billed weekly instead of the usual bi-weekly billing. Also they have promptly complied with all (and many) requests from insurance companies, including sending information about the kind of care they provide and invoices.
The home care our mother is receiving through Guardian Angel has made it possible for our family to cope with the many trials and tribulations that the toll of aging has taken on my mother. We are very grateful for this service provided by Guardian Angel Home Health located in Alexandria, Virginia.

I would rate them at about a six on a scale of one to ten, and I would recommend them. They succeeded in providing something very important, and that is the services of an excellent therapist.
