"I toured Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay. I liked the location. There is nothing I like the least about it. I liked it very much. The staff were very friendly. They had everything that I cared about. They had a hair salon, they had a bus for transportation, and they had just a theater and a pub. They had just about everything. It was perfect. It was very clean. Extremely clean."

"Atria Aquidneck Place was a little bit farther away from home but still very close. It's on the island here, but it was about $3,000 more expensive than where mom is, and I could see it in the facilities and the things that they did. It was very high-end and it would have exhausted the funds that we had for paying for this facility. It is incredible inside, but it's not a five in terms of cost. The staff seemed great, and I got to meet various members; t wasn't just the person showing me around. They were fantastic. They had a restaurant area and kitchen, and it smelled good. It was fancier than some of the restaurants I ate at. The apartments were more expensive, but they were very nice. The common areas were beautiful. It was like living in a mansion with lots of friends. They have multiple floors."

"Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee is a memory care facility. It was beautiful, but also very, very expensive. Everybody was great. They're all trained to handle memory care residents. The rooms were nice, but my aunt needed someone to be with her and they only had singles. They were nice, but it wasn't going to meet her needs. The facility was brand new, so everything was clean and pretty. They all had little villages that they lived in and a lot of activities going on. They had a beautiful outdoor area, a bunch of function rooms where some lady was playing piano for them, a screening room, and all sorts of medical staff. It was top-of-the-line."

"Mom has moved into Blenheim-Newport. Everybody that I met has been very helpful, kind, and caring. The other thing is that I have had friends who have had their parents go there and also friends who needed assisted living. I know that there have been situations where one of the family members needed memory care and the spouse, rather than be separated, actually moved into assisted living. It is very close to where we live and almost across the street from where I went to high school. I didn't have to drive far to get there. They have been great at handling her in terms of meeting her needs as a blind person. The door has a plaque on it and not only has raised lettering on it for people who can't see, but it also has Braille. They made her feel comfortable. She didn't want to go there at first, but since she's been there, she's settled in, and there's a lot of things that they do with the people who are there for memory care. They have a chorus. They all sing together. It's more like a glee club. I feel it's worked out well so far. I have eaten there on more than one occasion. They have a restaurant and you can go there and have a meal. The memory care facility meals are served within a locked space so they don't wander around and leave. The food, at least in the restaurant area, was good. The facility has been there for quite a while. They're repainting areas and replacing some of the molding around doors in the halls. They're very good about letting you know that they're doing it and why they're doing it. In general, it's a very nice facility. They have activities. I know that they take them out on trips, they go shopping, they have arts and crafts, and they have this woman who comes in and gets them all singing, which is great therapy. The cost is no different than any of the other facilities I visited. For the price, it was cheaper. I'm paying for a single room for my mother that is cheaper than what a double room was at those other places."

"My mother was at the All American. She was only there for about a month though. The food was very good. They had two separate bedrooms to a unit, and the people could have a TV or a phone. If you walked in the door to these two bedrooms, there was a little sitting area first of all, to the left of that was the bathroom and a shower, and then the two bedrooms -- each with their own door and separated by a wall -- and they were very clean. They did laundry every week for everybody, they had nursing and activities going on, people coming in for the activities, and three meals a day. This was the memory care, but the whole thing was assisted living with not more than 16 people in it, so it was a nice, hands-on type of thing. It was a very good place. My mom had her 101st birthday over there, and they gave her a wonderful party. They were fine. Everything was a five. "

"Benchmark Senior Living at Plymouth Crossings is reasonably priced and small. There's 24-hours care there if my mom gets up at night and goes to the bathroom and stuff like that. Some of the others were just too big and they weren't going around to check on everybody. She's in assisted living. They help her with medications, bathing, and if she needs to get up they'll come and assist her to the bathroom. We like that she lives downstairs and is just down the hall. It's not like a huge building where she has to walk a lot. They cater to her and they have a lot of activities. The staff is also excellent. Her room is nice though it's not the biggest thing. She has a roommate on the other side and they share a kitchenette and a bathroom. She has her own separate room and they share a kitchen area with tables and chairs and a little refrigerator. They have music every Friday or Thursday night. They have a cocktail hour too, I just don't know if they're real cocktails or that's maybe wine. The location is easy to get to from the highway. They have transportation back and forth to doctor's appointments. They have a little minivan for any doctor's appointment that would require her to leave the facility. They have an in-house doctor too and they do all her medication twice a day. She says the food is really good. They have snacks and coffee that you can get whenever you want. Now because of COVID, you can go visit, but you have to stay contained. She goes to the dining area, but she can't have her husband go in there. They serve them lunch, it's a big meal, at the table. Whoever walks in, they take a temperature. This place is a lot cheaper than a lot of the other ones."

"Anchor Bay at East Providence is a little more modern than where Mom is. One of the drawbacks for me is that, depending on the time of day, it's going to be a half hour and 45 minutes to get there. The staff was great, particularly the people showing me around and talking about all the things that they provide. The facilities were very nice and new. I would have chosen this one if it was the closest one to me. They were just a little bit more expensive, maybe $1500 a month more expensive."

"I toured Atria Bay Spring Village and liked everything, like the dining hall. I liked the fact that there were other amenities inside the building. They had exercise classes close to the bike path. It's very clean. The floorplans were very nice. They're roomy enough, and the bathrooms were very good."

"Sunrise of Plymouth Beach has been very accommodating and proactive. My mother-in-law is in memory care and settling in well. The surroundings are beautiful. It's right near the beach with a great view. People have been very thoughtful and responsive to the family and her. Her room is clean, homey, and convenient to the social activities area. She doesn't have to travel far to get to dining or activities. The dining area is also clean and friendly. She is very social and has made a few friends. She's a big beach person and so she's been able to visit the beach with her family who has been visiting. They are undergoing some renovations right now. Where she is is nice, but I know it's going to be better. It's expensive but you get what you pay for."

"My mom had fallen and ended up in the hospital. We realized that she could not live at home any longer. We visited many assisted living facilities. Wingate had everything as far as rehab, memory care, nursing home. The rooms are gorgeous over looking the lake and garden. She went from rehab to assisted living. She was not easy to deal with but the staff was able to win her over. My moms health declined quickly. The staff went above and beyond to make my mom and our family comfortable. If I ever had any concerns they always addressed it and never dismissed it. My mom passed in March 2022. I have zero regrets and would recommend Wingate Inn to any of my friends looking for elder care."

"I visited Halcyon at West Bay and toured their assisted living for my husband. The people were very nice, kind, and polite. They gave me a complete tour and answered any questions I had. I like the facility. It was very clean and well taken care of. It was just a pleasant experience. I looked at a 1-bedroom, and it looked like there was enough space. It didn't feel crowded and cramped."

"My mom became a resident at Duxbury House back at the end of June 2021. Her memory loss was causing her a lot of anxiety. Since coming to Duxbury House she is calmer and the routine the staff has created keeps her engaged and happy. I enjoy coming and participating in exercise class along with the many games and cultural activities they plan for the residents. Knowing my mom is in a safe environment with caring staff gives me peace. "
