"It was being remodeled, so everything was updated. The person who took me around had lots of knowledge and was very involved. The staff was very friendly. There were a lot of people gathering in the great room, just for conversation, and enjoying themselves. The food looked very good, and they had a lot more variety than some of the other areas."

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."

"It was recommended to me. The staff was good and very knowledgeable. The dining area looked good. The rooms were great and very good. Bingo was going on when we were there. It looked very secure. It was a nice visit."

"Sophia Snow Place is all inclusive, so Mom has assistance with anything she needs. She has meal choices, 3 times a day plus the pastry cart in the morning, help with showering and meds, does yoga and has wonderful caregivers, she loves them all. They are consistent and helpful and pleasant and she feels very secure. The facility itself is immaculately clean, her room is very large and comfortable. The people are organized and helpful, there is someone at the door who knows when people go in and out. They were referred to us by the nurses that do care there, and it was a great decision. There is nothing that she misses from home!"

"Allerton House at Central Park is absolutely breathtaking inside. The surroundings were beautiful, and the way they decorated was very, very pleasing. The staff we met was excellent. In terms of activities, they offered everything. The rooms were laid out really nicely, so I have nothing bad to say about that. The thing is that they're too busy in the surrounding area for us. They had a salon and a library."

"I thought The Village at Willow Crossings was beautiful. They have a lot of activities. People would come in to speak, and they have a lot of places that residents could go. So if someone was very capable and wanted to be involved and engaged in things, they have a lot to offer. The residents looked generally happy. The staff seemed to interact with them in a very positive way. The dining room was beautiful. The facility was beautiful. It was a new place, and it was gorgeous. More important to me was the fact that the atmosphere between the staff and the residents I found to be very good. That was a very good visit. Overall, if I have to pick one, that would have been my choice, but it was expensive. "

"My parents will be moving to The Residences at Wingate. It's a relatively new place at only three years old. It has a very nice, clean feeling, a lot of lights, very open, and on the smaller side. I think there are 48 rooms. The staff was very positive. We met the executive director first and then the person who helps new people, and they were both excellent. We had lunch in the dining room and the staff was very friendly and nice. Everybody is doing a very good job. They have a nice dining room. I'm a chef, so I am very particular about food, but it's very well cooked. Everything was good. "

"My good friend lived in the Assisted Living facility at Providence House for about two years before needing memory care. Providence House was a wonderful, caring community. The nurses, aides, director, and staff were all wonderful and treated my friend with care, dignity and respect. She loved the many daily activities, her room was comfortable and clean with good light pouring in the windows. We were able to add amenities (laundry, extra help, etc.) seamlessly. I also appreciated the care we received as friends. PH staff were compassionate and lovely to deal with. I'm forever grateful to them. "

"I toured Susan Bailis Assisted Living. It's centrally located in downtown Boston, and its facilities are clean and well-maintained. The units are small, and the prices are high for the area. The staff was great. They seemed close to the residents."

Every request we make is filled immediately and cheerfully, I have such peace of mind that your staff checks in on my mother during the night, and when something happens, they alert me immediately. I know how much organizations take on the character of their leadership, and I am tremendously appreciative for the high bar you set for standard of care and responsiveness. That my mother adjusted so quickly and is so happy is such a tribute to The Falls Staff. "

"I went to see Evans Park, and I liked this very much as well. The parking wasn’t quite as easy, but the staff was also very nice. It wasn’t quite as warm -- the people weren’t quite as warm with each other -- but everybody was very respectful, and everyone knew everybody. It’s a good place, and I would live there. It’s very beautifully appointed. They also have antique furniture, and it’s very beautiful. They had various sized rooms and apartments, and they’re willing to work with you. It was very nice that you had choices. You also can have a shared room. They did have a full schedule of activities that looked intellectually stimulating and within the reach of people who had some memory difficulties. They also had a menu that had healthy food on it. I thought it was a good program all around. I would give them a 4 because of the cost, and it’s just the cost; otherwise, it would get a 5. "
