"Orchard Cove had a full range of services from independent living to assisted living to a nursing home. I thought it was an extremely warm community with more support services than any other else, and the fact that it was a non-profit helped. My mom is also about to have a beautiful apartment in a beautiful location, and we felt very comfortable with the people there. This was the best place we saw. It is surrounded by pine groves and a pond, so it is a very pretty spot. "

"Sophia Snow Place was pleasant. I had no issues with it; it just wouldn't serve my friend's purposes. It was clean, the people were friendly, and they seemed to enjoy living there. The person who I spoke with was very pleasant."

"We were happy with Sunrise of Cohasset, but my dad has literally only been there for four hours and he was just too sick for it. They were professional, caring, and great though. It was very close to my parents' house, so location was very convenient, and they felt comfortable there. The place itself was like a fancy hotel, and it's really nice inside as well as the accommodations. There were lots of activities, and the people we interacted with -- particularly Michelle, the sales coordinator, and the nurse -- were really good and very understanding when it came to us having to make a very quick change to the decision we made in undoing the move. It looked so nice, they had a nice dining room, and you can tell they really take care of the place. On the memory care floor, you could tell it was safe and couldn't just go down the elevator by accident just in case a patient wandered off since you had to punch in a code. There are a lot of people keeping an eye out for confused residents, which was good. A lot of stuff was a la carte, which was the only down side, because it wasn't just one charge to get what you need."

"The staff member who met me at Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree was so knowledgeable, kind, and great. She gave a great tour. They had a very nice lobby, I got to see their dining room, saw what they have to offer in terms of activities and I saw where they post the calendar. A exercise or stretching class was going on, and I got to meet the person who plans the activities. They seemed to listen to what kind of things my parents would be interested in, and then told me that those things could be offered whether it was gardening, lectures, or trips to museums. They're very good about that. Also, they gave us tips on how to help parents in downsizing and stuff like that. The rooms had kitchenettes. They said most people spend more time out of their rooms so the kitchens were getting smaller since people weren't using the hotplates or stovetops anymore. When they were redecorating or turning over the rooms, they were keeping the kitchens small."

"Benchmark at Hanover was like staying at a Hampton Inn. It was wonderful. The woman who gave me the tour was excellent in taking me around and making sure that I saw all the available things. They had a gym, a salon, a courtyard, and dining rooms. It was located right near Hanover Mall, and it was right near the highway exit where they could be taken to either South Shore Hospital or BID Jordan Hospital in Plymouth."

"My mother-in-law moved into Susan Bailis Assisted Living. The facility is bright and welcoming. The people are very friendly. It is a nice place. The staff members are very helpful. My mother-in-law's room is very small, but sunny and modern. It's a one-bedroom. It seems like there are a lot of various activities for residents. They have a beauty salon, a library, a café, and a common room. My mother-in-law seems to really love the food. It's a beautiful building."

"My mom stayed at Charter Senior Living of Dedham for respite care. The community is very nice and well-kept. They did go through a renovation of the property just to keep it fresh. I thought the decor was very nice. The room that we got, because it was a respite stay, was already furnished. But we did have to put a hospital bed because she's at a hospital bed at the house. That's the only thing that we kind of brought in as far as furniture-wise. But everything was really nice. The staff was good. When I was there, I met our amazing contact person. She was a sales and marketing director. She was very good. She made sure any needs that we had were met. The head of, I guess the nursing and care, was amazing. She came and checked on my mom to make sure she was receiving the level of care that she needed. They had games. They had movie nights after dinner. They had social activities. There was an issue with the elevator, so they kind of cut out some of the activities because of the elevator not working, and it was being repaired. My mom actually enjoyed the food. She thought the food was good. The times when the elevator was working, when they were able to get her downstairs, she enjoyed the other residents there. They were very welcoming and the staff was very welcoming. They cut her food up if she needed it. So everything was very good."

"I was able to visit Providence House, and the experience was very positive. It has a steel feel to it. No frills. I met their marketing personnel. I had lunch there, and the food was excellent. I have now decided to move there. The atmosphere also I felt that I fit in the place. I received their full package of information, and I was impressed with the scope of the activities available. The staff was very responsive. "

"Our family was at a standstill when our elderly mom was living on her own and experiencing more and more health issues than we could provide assistance for her privately. It took a while to convince her she needed help after living an independent life for so long. We contacted The Parc @ Harborview and within days we toured, she loved it, we moved her in. She immediately adapted to her new surroundings. The best thing is that the care she receives at the Parc is top notch. Aids check on her throughout the day and night. They are sure she gets to her meals in their elegant dining area and eating healthy choices with companions. She is greatly encouraged to join the other residents in their activities and social gatherings (which are many). She made friends with residents and staff and her loneliness and health have taken a complete turnaround. I thank the great staff at the Parc from Anita and Burt at the front desk, health care professionals, and all employees who help in sharing their time and care for the residents. I would highly suggest taking a look if you or your family member is feeling alone or unsafe living alone. This is the place to be. Super plus plus plus, the facility is spotless with lots of gathering areas throughout for family to meet with their loved one. "The Residences at Wingate is brand new. The common areas are quite elaborate and very luxurious. There's a pool, two movie theaters, a beautiful dining area, and the grounds are quite nice. The individual rooms are nice but not particularly big nor fancy. The staff is excellent. They have a lot of good activities, like karaoke and accordion playing. They have just recently opened an are trying to tailor the activities according to the likes of their residents."

"My mom moved into Evans Park at Newton Corner a month ago. It was very clean and calm. They had programs running all around. Every time I was there, something was going on. They have loud music, great video, and entertainment. It was pretty good. The staff members were very helpful and very friendly. They took care of her needs, like once she needed to go to the bathroom, and they came in like a minute later. So everything was fine. Her room was very clean. It was just one bedroom. It was a good size and had a desk, a TV, and a bathroom. It was nice, and it was more than what she needed. They have smaller rooms, and that was the hangout room. In one room, there was music playing. In another room, there was something else going on and stuff like that. So it wasn't just one big room."

"Brigham House seemed very nice and very appealing. I was looking for a short-term stay for a month or so, but they required a longer term, so it didn't fit with what I was looking for. I would've picked it. The dining area was beautiful and looked like a 5-star restaurant. They had a calendar full of things to do. It was an older school converted to an assisted living, and it's about 110 to 120 years old."

"My grandmother stayed here for a few years. She really enjoyed her time there. The staff were helpful and highly capable. The rooms were a good size and complete with very nice appliances. There were always plenty of activities for her to do and very good food to choose from. The facility was brand new at the time of her stay, that being said the quality of the building itself was impeccable. The hallways were well lighted, decorated with art work, and in areas near elevators were little alcoves to sit and sometimes organs to play. In the spring and summer landscaping was done weekly, planting flowers and making sure the grounds where nice. There were also daily trips to go shopping.A priest came for service every sunday. After a recent remodeling they also added a game room with a pool table and area for board games and a kitchen area that was used for making pizzas. "
