"Sophia Snow Place is all inclusive, so Mom has assistance with anything she needs. She has meal choices, 3 times a day plus the pastry cart in the morning, help with showering and meds, does yoga and has wonderful caregivers, she loves them all. They are consistent and helpful and pleasant and she feels very secure. The facility itself is immaculately clean, her room is very large and comfortable. The people are organized and helpful, there is someone at the door who knows when people go in and out. They were referred to us by the nurses that do care there, and it was a great decision. There is nothing that she misses from home!"

"All the staff at Sunrise are wonderful. We have always found them helpful and professional in every way-activities are very well planned and clients are encouraged to participate. Our family member really enjoys the food and the well planned activities. The nursing staff is caring and very helpful."

"We visited Traditions of Dedham and we liked it. The caregivers were very personable. The people that live there seemed very happy. There were a lot of activities. The food looked really good, and they seemed to be happy with that. It was clean. They have like art classes, they have a small library, and they have like physical activity type classes, and I saw one of those. They have like little happy hours, and they have trips that they take them on with a van. They have bingo, game night, and movie nights. Every day, they have something. They have a schedule and a calendar with at least one thing every day. They gave us some cookies that the chef had made and those were pretty good."

"I toured Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree. It's a very nice place, but they didn't have an opening for my mother and father to live together, which is a very big part of it. They've been married for 62 years, and they want to be together. They just didn't have a room. There was no availability for a room for them to be together, and the wait would have been a minimum of six months to a year and a half, and I'm like, no. The place was nice. It was more set up as apartments than a senior living place. They are under construction, so a lot of the grounds are torn up right now. They're redoing the outside and redoing the porches. It's nice, it's a smaller place, but it doesn't offer as much. I wouldn't say anything bad about it, and I would have considered it, but all in all, it doesn't hold a candle to the place my parents are going. The staff was awesome. They were always very nice, but they didn't hit all the boxes or the one most important box. They had a couple of amenities but not as much as the place. They don't have as large a staff. It's not bright. There weren't as many windows as I would have liked. It's more of an older building. The layout of the building is not as great as I would have liked to have seen for an Alzheimer's unit. It's more like apartments with a big room at the end of the hall where they can get together where everybody opens the door and they're out into a community area. "

"I was very impressed with Benchmark at Hanover. It was very nice, very clean, and well-kept. It's very new. They are at 65 percent capacity. The apartments were also very clean. The suite that we viewed was very spacious, accommodating, and we thought it was very good. They were extremely helpful, extremely caring, and understanding of the situation. The dining area was very nice, well-kept, and smelling clean. I saw people with snacks, like muffins and stuff like that, and they looked very good."

"I visited Susan Bailis. That place was to die for with a cute setup. The room was a one-bedroom with a living room. The people were very nice. The sitting area was very quaint, and it smelled good in there. It’s a fairly new place. The staff was excellent, especially the woman at the front door. They had underground parking, so visitors could stay as long as we want. I love it."

"My friend has moved here. It has the perfect size apartment for her. They're wonderful staff. They're supportive and caring. She can get outside and walk on her own. She is near a close friend who can come over frequently when needed. Food is okay. The amenities are very tastefully done, very attractive, and very comfortable. Every time I go, which is pretty frequent, there are always a lot of residents gathered comfortably around. It's just a comfortable, welcoming living environment for everybody. It seems that everybody feels comfortable kind of gathering as friends. The dining room is more personal. It's comfortable looking and comfortable feeling. It doesn't look stark and cold like a restaurant. All in all, It was the perfect answer for us in every way."

"I went to Sunrise of Norwood. I love that place. It's beautiful. It's a mansion that some doctor owned. The staff was awesome. They had the best overall facility as far as homeyness and ease of getting mom to her meals. But I think the location just wasn't going to be as easy for me to do the servicing once I realized I had to do this wound care thing. So, Sunrise is a great place. It was wonderful. It was reasonably priced. They were wonderful people. They spent a good amount of time with me. They gave me a lot of information. They were very knowledgeable. The place had zero smell of any kind. It was perfectly clean."

"I went to The Residence at Boylston Place. I was treated very well. They're upgrading their facility, so there was some construction going on but it didn't bother me. They're making it even nicer. By the time I'd be ready to move in if I did go there, it would be even more beautiful. It's a very nice architecture outside and inside. It's being brought up-to-date very nicely. The staff during the tour was very helpful. They have three meals a day and transportation and utilities are paid for. It's very attractive architecture and it's very clean. The dining area had very good lighting, was very spacious, and it looked like it would be an excellent place to sit down and dine and talk to residents."

"I liked Providence House Assisted Living. It was bright, and it was accessible. There was parking there. The staff was very nice. It's very clean. I was surprised by how bright it was. It didn't feel like a nursing home. They had things for the people to participate in. They have transportation if you don't have a car to go shopping three times a week. There are studios and apartments. They have a hair salon. They were playing Wheel of Fortune. They have tons of puzzles, and they have a library. Providence House is my favorite."

"I liked Chestnut Park at Cleveland Circle a lot. I found it more attractive in terms of the furnishing. It's sunnier. It's tucked away and quiet. It has some nice outdoor spaces. The activity programming looked pretty good. The memory care was far superior. The staff was excellent. I worked with the assistant director as well as the community relations person. They were not doing me a hard sell. They're going to visit my sister in the settings she's in now, meet with the nurses, and the social worker and evaluate what's the best situation for her."

"Our family was at a standstill when our elderly mom was living on her own and experiencing more and more health issues than we could provide assistance for her privately. It took a while to convince her she needed help after living an independent life for so long. We contacted The Parc @ Harborview and within days we toured, she loved it, we moved her in. She immediately adapted to her new surroundings. The best thing is that the care she receives at the Parc is top notch. Aids check on her throughout the day and night. They are sure she gets to her meals in their elegant dining area and eating healthy choices with companions. She is greatly encouraged to join the other residents in their activities and social gatherings (which are many). She made friends with residents and staff and her loneliness and health have taken a complete turnaround. I thank the great staff at the Parc from Anita and Burt at the front desk, health care professionals, and all employees who help in sharing their time and care for the residents. I would highly suggest taking a look if you or your family member is feeling alone or unsafe living alone. This is the place to be. Super plus plus plus, the facility is spotless with lots of gathering areas throughout for family to meet with their loved one. Thanks to all for being there, I can sleep at night knowing Mom is in the best hands."

"What my mother was looking for was independent living with one meal a day, and apartments that had a kitchen with an actual stove. The other thing that she wanted was a balcony or an outdoor space, and New Pond Village had all of those things. It was a combination of the main things, the location, and the one-meal-a-day plan. They do have step-up care available. You can move to assisted or memory care from there. They've done a lot of recent renovations. The apartment that my mother got is gorgeous. It has a high ceiling and lots of light and windows. The common spaces are very nice. They're attractively laid out. The library is beautiful. The dining room is on the lower floor. It's like a walkout from the lower level basement and that's very pretty. The food was pretty good, there are multiple options, and it's served sit-down style for dinner like you're seated at a table and a staff member comes and takes your order. There's a bunch of things that they always offer at every meal and lots of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. There's nothing wrong with the place. It's nice, it's just a lot of money. The staff is great."
