The Best Assisted Living Communities in Newport County, RI

"My mom moved to All American Assisted Living at Warwick, and it's nice that everything is planned for memory care. We're having good feedback from the staff. They were very attentive and didn't have a large turnaround of staff. It's the same people staying there. My mom said the food was very good. They do all sorts of in-house activities and also go out. The rooms are very good size."

"I toured Tamarisk with a group, and we ate at a private dining room, and it was pleasant. They have good activities: movies, television, recreation, and trips. The staff was very pleasant towards the visitors and, I assume, towards the residents. They have a porch in the rooms so you have a little private outdoor space. The dining area is a very pleasant, nice, big, bright room. It’s got more buildings I think than some of the others, and about 80 residents there, but the location is close to my Synagogue "

"They did everything they could to get my mother in there. Unfortunately, she deteriorated and was not able to go. I visited on three occasions. Everyone was very nice, very accommodating, and very friendly. It's a lovely facility, and the accommodations were very nice. Literally from walking into the lobby and sitting and waiting for my appointment, everyone was just friendly, kind, and welcoming -- from the people who lived there, to the people who were visiting, to the staff. They had a little café where people can get donuts, coffee, and pastries and play on the computers. It was just a nice atmosphere. The people were more than willing to answer questions and do anything they could to try and make this work. My mother needed a first floor apartment -- they had one left, and they were more than willing to reserve it for me until she was ready. Everybody from the director down to the sales person to the nurses was very nice. The rooms were small, but more than sufficient for what someone in that situation would need. It was comfortable and homey -- a nice personal place for someone -- but with plenty of outside areas where they can go to activities, socialize with people, and not feel that they have to be trapped in a room. There's enough room for them to move around and have their own space if they need to stay in their room for whatever reason. There is a variety of sizes of rooms as well -- everything from a studio up to two bedrooms. There's nothing I can complain about Brookdale Centre of New England (Formerly New England Bay Retirement Living). "

"We chose Anchor Bay at East Providence for my dad because it is twenty minutes away from my house. Before, he was three-and-a-half hours away, and we're the closest relatives, so it was hard going down there, especially during COVID when we couldn't see him for the whole year. It's assisted living, and then they also have memory care, but he is in assisted living right now at level three. I just moved him in there yesterday, but overall, I'm happy with it right now. During my in-person visit, they were very good, and they were very nice. I talked to the sales and marketing rep there. I met a lot of people as we went through but because of COVID, not a lot of people were out in the halls. It seems like a nice place, and the rooms are bigger. My dad is in a studio apartment. The staff seems fine, and they all seem very nice. They are eating in the dining room but only one person to a table. The place is very clean, nice, and open, and I think it is better than where he came from. Now that his physical body has declined a lot, he is better on the ground floor. We actually picked this place because the studio was on the ground floor, and he could get to places easier and not be out of the way."

"My sister was there a few weeks recuperating from a fall at home. Everyone there were so passionate and caring. She had a beautiful room , she enjoyed all the meals that were served and had many social activities to join in if she was interested. She was very happy there and we were so relieved to have her being taken care of until she felt better to return home. "

"We chose Whalers Cove because of proximity, cost, and everything in it. My mother loves the food and she's got a very nice apartment. The place is huge. There are different areas where she can go without even having to leave the building, like a little garden and a good view inside. She's very pleased there. At this point, she's been very well taken care of and they've been great to the family, so I can't really complain about anything. "

"I went to see Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard. It was a big high-rise building, so it was tough to get from place to place in the building. It was very big but it had everything. My biggest problem with this place was that it was pricey. The staff was great, they were wonderful. They had everything you can imagine there and more, they had a salon, they had a gym, they had massages, and they had all kinds of stuff. In terms of location, everything is there."

"I toured Smithfield Woods Senior Living. The room is a decent size for a couple and could be a little bit bigger. It was very well-maintained. The two people I spoke with were polite and courteous and answered most of my questions."

"I had visited and I liked its proximity to where I lived, which was like a mile away. It was very clean and beautiful. The employees were very nice. I had nothing negative to say, and there's nothing not to like about it. They were great. The rooms I saw were very nice. It was small, but it was probably OK for one person. They day I visited, they were kind of doing some exercise on their chairs, and I was invited to some music activity. "

"My friend stayed at Forest Farm and the care was excellent. He had a large private room. Tracy from Therapy was great and very knowledgeable.. I had a guest tray and the food was better then I would have expected. I would recommend going there. "

"My loved one was at Grand Islander for the past few months. Covid has been very tough on all yet I still receive updates from Nurses, Social Workers and Therapists. All staff have gone above and beyond helping us out. Long term care is not easy to navigate but Grand Islander has helped in all aspects from nursing needs to financial and insurance information. I would highly recommend this as a temporary placement or long term. Thank you to all Grand Islander staff!! Job well done!! "

"My friend chose Franklin Court Assisted Living. It was very nice. It wasn't as luxurious as the other place was, but it was a much larger community than where she is now, which is what she wanted. It had a lot of activities. The dining facility was very nice, and the menu looked good. They had a mailroom, which she loved. Bristol was a nice community to get around. And my friend doesn't have any physical impairments at all, so she can get up and walk around. The staff was very nice. It was a lovely facility."

"Brightview was excellent and had lots of socialization and a unique music program that was very nice. It was very bright with lots of light coming in. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very friendly. "

"My sister is well and lovingly taken care of at Atria Harborhill. She has a beautiful room with a nice view that she enjoys. The staff are generally very responsive to my questions and concerns. My sister is very sociable and outgoing and has made many friends there. She is a life-long artist and has worked on her art as well as had her art appreciated and encouraged by staff and visitors. She also loves pets and friendly animals and enjoys the many field trips she is taken on there. Her favorite trips are visiting farms in the area and looking out over the beautiful coastal areas of the Narraganset Bay. I feel confidence with the care she is getting at Atria Harborhill. "
