"My mom is in here, and it has been great so far. We chose it because of its location. It is close to us. The staff is excellent. They are all very nice. The rooms are very nice. The other thing is that my mom's room has a little kitchenette. So even though they don't cook there, it gives the appearance of a little kitchenette, and she likes that because she feels like it doesn't look just like a room and it looks more like a home. It also has a cabinet. The food is good. They have activities, and my mom participates in bingo, rosary, and reading. They also have speakers who come, and they have some shows. It's very nice, and I think it's great. I like that she's happy there because they are very caring. "

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."

"My 2-bedroom apartment is lovely with a scenic view facing east at a wooded area. Other apartments face a reservoir-lake with ducks, egrets, turtles, geese. A gentle waling path with benches at intervals surrounds the building. The staff are wonderful and supportive. The 300 plus residents are friendly but not intrusive, interesting bright and stimulating people. The many activities and programs available on a daily and evening basis provide more than sufficient to keep everyone happy. I came here alone after my partner unexpectedly died the month we were to move, and I was so warmly welcomed and made to feel at home that the grief of my loss was mitigated. This is a wonderful place to be."

"I toured Allerton House at Proprietors Green. It was exquisite. The staff were very friendly. They had everything that I could be interested in. They had a theater, they had a pub, they had transportation, and they had a lovely dining room. It's extremely clean. It was in a very equipped location for everything."

"We're very impressed with Cornerstone of Weymouth. This was a 10 out of 10 on general review. The community was great. The residents were very, very informative. The co-directors, Siobhan and Janie, who are actually sisters, were far and away the most helpful of any of the management that I met from any of the recommendations. I had an excellent lunch there with two men who were already residents and two who were like me, looking to find a place. The best thing about it was that they have an absolutely wonderful exercise room with treadmills and other exercise equipment, the best of any of the facilities that I saw. They have a washer and dryer in the one-bedroom."

"It was a smaller place. The building was previously a hotel. The rooms were very small. They recently updated the common spaces and that looked nice, with brighter colors and so forth, but it felt a little bit more intimate, a little bit more closed in. The hallways weren't as wide and spacious as the other place. We liked the woman who gave us the tour. She answered a lot of our questions. The thing that we didn't like about it is the size of the rooms. They are extremely small. There is very little storage for clothing and belongings. They have a chapel where they offer Catholic mass six days a week. They have a place where she can have her hair done, a manicure, and an activities area."

"We liked everything about Laurelmead. The people were wonderful. The hospitality was great. The rooms looked nice. The prices seemed fair for what you got. They had a lot of services. We liked it a lot. It was affordable for us, but we don't think we need to pay that much at this time, so it wasn't a bargain for us. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. It was wonderful. I had something off their menu. Everything was good. The desserts were good, the main meal was good, and the service was good. The people were very friendly. Not only the residents but all the people that worked there. They were terrific. We had dinner with a couple that lived there. After dinner, they said they were going to a program that was a lecture and they invited us to come with them. We went, and it was a terrific lecture. It was an attorney, and he gave a history of Providence, and it was very interesting. I was impressed by the questions that everybody in the audience raised. It's a very intelligent group. I do not doubt that we would fit in right there. But, as independent as we are, we don't want to give up that now if we can help it. After the lecture was over, we met several other people. One of whom invited us to see her apartment. So we got to see three different places before the tour even took place the next day. It was nice. We saw some empty places that were available to purchase, but we also saw two that were being lived in and how they looked when they were furnished and all. The facilities are well-maintained and it's a beautiful property. It's the only one we had seen, but we were very impressed. "

"For what I had seen at Cranberry Pond Apartments, I am quite impressed and satisfied. You could have a two-bedroom or a one-bedroom apartment. It had a small balcony and they had a main parking area. "

"Sparrows Point was situated where I am currently living, so I am acquainted with the area. I visited there because I wanted to transfer as soon as there was a vacant room available. It is nice that I could go shopping in the facility if I don't have a car. There was also a bus twice a week and it is for free. They also had execise classes and different trips. For a semi-private facility, it has good quality. "

"Community at Pond Meadow is the place my mom has selected. It has independent units and a senior center with an option for transition into higher levels of care. The living quarters are cottages with garages and full kitchens. It's like condo living. The staff did a great job in assisting us and seem to be knowledgeable. There was a book club going on while I was there. "

"One of the first places we went to for my mother was Stafford Hill. It was completely beautiful, the whole thing, the staff was lovely, and the facilities were lovely. It's just that the cost impact was a couple of thousand dollars more than at the other place, and that equates to extra months if we run out of money. The staff loved what they were doing. They loved where they were. If I could have moved there, I would have. I did like that they had a doctor that came in, their own physician, and a couple of times a week that you could make appointments for. They had transportation, it seemed like they had a lot of outings outside the facility, and a lot of group things where the memory care would join the assisted living residents for gatherings and music."
