Assisted Living Reviews for Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay

I visited this facility

Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay was a very nice facility. It was a bigger facility that had independent, assisted, and memory care units. It was a very good tour. The people were very extraordinary. They gave us information about other places that they thought were very good. This was another place that was very good, but it was extraordinarily expensive too. It was a brand new facility and everything was nice. They seemed to have a full list of activities too like the other places. Actually, this group of people suggested that we look at the place where we ended up putting my brother.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I only visited Keystone, which is where my mom is. The food is excellent. They have all kinds of activities, like bingo, arts and crafts, songs, and trips. The rooms are very nice, clean, and cheery. The dining area is beautiful. They have an exercise room. It is really a nice location. It is right near Cape Cod Canal and very cheery and light. It is very nice.

I visited this facility

We visited Keystone once, and they only have independent and assisted living. The staff was very friendly, and they obviously did a good job in training the personnel. They have a very nice trail on the property down to the Cape Cod canal -- it was just a short walk -- and they have a bench there.

Provider Response

Hi Frank, We are glad you visited and liked our community! Our building does have independent and assisted living which includes a specialized memory care unit. Perhaps you were looking for a less supportive living environment. Many people do love our location but aren't quite ready for such a supportive living environment! The walking trail, Canal Crossways, is actually adjacent to our community and is a owned by the Town of Bourne on conservation land, it is there for all to enjoy! Keep an eye out for the new all inclusive playground that is going to be installed along the pathway in Fall of 2016! Thanks again for stopping by and for your kind words!

I visited this facility

I liked Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay. It was either independent living where you're totally on your own or assisted where you have three meals a day, but that was too much. I like the location but I certainly don't need three meals a day. It's good. The rooms were nice, big, and had a kitchenette. It had nice hallways. The grounds were very good. There were elevators.

Provider Response

We are so glad you liked our community! Just to clarify for you, our Independent living is still a supportive living environment. Residents enjoy a partial meal plan in our dining room, each day, with Continental breakfast and their choice of lunch or dinner included in their rent. They are on their own for one meal a day and do have full kitchens in their apartments. In addition to the meal plan, Independent residents have housekeeping every other week, and enjoy a full calendar of activities including our very popular Happy Hour in the Lighthouse Pub on Friday night! Also included is transportation in our van to scheduled Dr appointments, weekly shopping trips and cultural, dining and engaging group activity outside trips! Plus the security of staff in the building 24/7 to respond to them in case of an emergency. Assisted Living at Keystone Place offers a higher level of support for residents, with a full meal plan and the assistance of personal care givers and nursing staff. Residents can get help with Activities of Daily living; showering, dressing, grooming, medication management, and safety checks and daily apartment upkeep. They also enjoy linen service included with their weekly housekeeping. Plus transportation and fuller activity calendar to keep them engaged. If you need any additional information, please let me know, we are here to help!

I visited this facility

We visited Keystone (Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay). It was fine, and my first or second pick, but we wanted to keep my mother closer to Harwich, which is where she lives. The rooms were fairly good. We were looking for the memory care, and it seemed pretty good, but the outside garden area wasn’t that impressive. The staff members were very good. The amenities looked very nice, and everything seemed cozy. One of the things we wanted to stay away from was those taller buildings, and Keystone is tall, but the memory care was on the first floor, which was smart.

Keystone Place seemed very nice. It was brand new and only about a third occupied. It was a very nice facility. The people who work there are very nice, and the people who are already living there were very enthusiastic about the place. Mom seemed very pleased with it and is picking Keystone.
