"I was thinking about moving my mom into Allerton House because their food service is much faster. Her friend is there. They don’t wait for food, which I like. It was an older building but inice. I didn’t see too many staff members, but I haven’t heard any problems because her friend’s family seems to like it there. I was visiting someone’s room and the room was average, clean, and had nice windows. It seemed OK."

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."

"Cabot Park Village was not a buy-in, but rather a rental, and their fee was beyond our budget. I like its location, though, and the staff was very nice. "

"I joined the Maplewood at Weston community nine months ago because it offered a level of care and caring that far surpassed the other assisted living facilities I was considering. It was one of my better decision. Executive Director Bernardo has assembled a staff that is professional, responsive and knowledgeable. My apartment is well-appointed and immaculate, thanks to Housekeeping and Maintenance personnel, and it has a beautiful, off-the-balcony view of the Charles River. The Wellness staff, especially the Aides, go above and beyond by providing physical and emotional support that is rare in today's medically challenged world. There are many diverse activities offered throughout the week, and the one comment that is echoed by visitor after visitor is that Maplewood resembles a lavish, swanky hotel. Bernardo's weekly "check-in" visits make me feel as though I am a valued member of the community, and I look forward to watching how Maplewood responds to the healthcare demands of the future."

"My grandmother was a resident at Allerton House, and so we came to visit this place again when we were looking for a facility for our parents. My parents already knew this place, and they like it. They also like the location, but they have limited availability for two people, and we are looking for a place for my parents. The food was fine. The facility is really nice. The rooms were nice. "

"I highly recommend them. It is local and they are very friendly, very caring, and supportive. My mom is in memory care and our move-in experience was excellent. They were very helpful. She seems to enjoy the meals. It is very clean and they have excellent housekeeping. If there's any issue that comes up, they are very quick to call. They offer bingo, sing-alongs, and movies, too."

"I visited several assisted living facilities and was most impressed by Farm Pond's consistent attention to detail and their responsiveness to my numerous questions that the staff entertained even before I settled my father in here. The center had different levels of care based on patient needs. It was always clean and never smelled of urine. And when I visited unannounced, could not catch the staff mistreating or ignoring any patients. For my fathers condition, the day was well-structured to include nutritious meals, stretching, mild to moderate exercise, crafts that included motor skills as well as sequencing activities, games, music, and daily bus trips. They allowed small pets and welcomed visitors at any time day or night. The bedrooms were spacious and the layout for the Alzheimer patients was mirrored so that they never felt they "went the wrong way." They also communicated frequently with me on my Dad's day to day outlook and condition. My overall impression of this facility was positive and I would recommend it highly. "

"The Delaney at the Vale wasn't right for us, but it was a fine facility. The staff was very helpful and spent a lot of time. It really seemed ideal for a certain kind of person, but we wanted to be more urban. We are New Yorkers, and it was like a resort. It's not really what we wanted. We needed it to be closer to town, that kind of thing, but the facility itself was brand new."

"Allerton House at Proprietors Green looked beautiful, was very open, and very well decorated. It has plenty of activities and it's in a great location because there's a supermarket or a restaurant within 300 yards of the facility. The staff was very welcoming and very knowledgeable. There were many staff members interacting with each other and with my brother and I. They answered all of our questions. It's very well laid out, and there are a lot of room options."

"Mom is in The Inn at Silver Lake which the assisted living part of Wingate Silver Lake. It is very good, and so far we are very pleased. The apartments are large and spacious. I think the food is very good, but my mom is not so thrilled with it. The dining room is large enough, and it is fine. They have all the typical activities that you find in an assisted living place. The marketing director very nice and made me feel right at home, she brought me a glass of wine. I could not believe the dining room was beautiful.
