Cornerstone of Weymouth is very nice. It's newly built. It has lots of really good amenities. Just the atmosphere of it was very comfortable. The person who gave me the tour was very accommodating, very warm, and very friendly. She took her time to show me around. It wasn't rushed at all. The facility itself is really exceptional because it is not connected to assisted care and stuff like that. It is strictly independent. It would be wonderful to be a part of that community. You're living independently, but you're part of a community. You would be very safe there. There is enough space in the rooms. From the interview, they don't really want you to spend time in your room. They really want to spend the time out in the community, and the things that they have there for you to get involved in. The apartments are spacious enough for one person. The layout is nice. The tub is lowered. There's a space where you just step into the tub for showering. So that's a nice addition. The bathroom is not small. It's spacious, too, which I like. As for amenities, there's a TV room and a fitness area, which is very nice. Then they have more than one sitting area. I think there's a chef there, too. After my tour, I was given a whole apple pie to put in oven for myself.

I enjoyed the tour at Cornerstone of Weymouth's independent living community. It was very enlightening for me as I wasn't sure what senior living was going to be about. The person there showed me the size of the apartments, and what was available to me as a senior living resident, and it was what I was looking for. The facilities were neat, clean, and close to other facilities in the area for shopping, entertainment, and restaurants, so I wasn't confined to just the facility itself. The people I met were all friendly. I met several of the seniors who were residents, and everybody seemed to be what I wanted. Everything that was there was what I wanted. They showed me the food facilities, the recreational facilities, and the lounging area. The apartment size was what I was looking for. I wasn't looking for a large place since I'm by myself and I can get along with very little right now. I did not sample the food, but I was given an idea of what they do. They have an almost restaurant-like facility there for food, providing breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I was most impressed by the fact that there's a $500 credit towards food every month. That takes a bit of the sting out of the cost. I appreciated the fact that it was a fairly new facility, so there weren't a lot of things that I had to be concerned about. I think it was 60 or 70 percent occupied at that point, so there's plenty of room for expansion, for personnel, and all that. It's also close to where I wanted to be.

We're very impressed with Cornerstone of Weymouth. This was a 10 out of 10 on general review. The community was great. The residents were very, very informative. The co-directors, Siobhan and Janie, who are actually sisters, were far and away the most helpful of any of the management that I met from any of the recommendations. I had an excellent lunch there with two men who were already residents and two who were like me, looking to find a place. The best thing about it was that they have an absolutely wonderful exercise room with treadmills and other exercise equipment, the best of any of the facilities that I saw. They have a washer and dryer in the one-bedroom.

My dad has moved into Cornerstone of Weymouth. They have transportation to bring him to doctor's appointments. It has a gym. He has a porch. He likes that they have 24-hour security. They also make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They give you an allowance of $500 a month, but you can't spend it all. So, many people buy frozen food at the end of the month and store it in their freezer. When family comes over, if they don't want to go downstairs to eat, they can simply microwave it. So that was another thing we liked about it. Also, if they're diabetic, the chef would make food for them, which is just part of living there. There are a lot of things that I really love about the place. They noticed how my father had a hard time getting out of chairs, so they said, "I have a chair. It would be perfect for your father," and it was one of those chairs that lifts you so that you're standing up, and he really needed one, and now he has one. His room is actually a little one-bedroom apartment with a porch. It's so cute. It's so sweet. I had tomato soup, and it tasted like she just pulled it off the tomato plant. It was that good. I was like, "Oh my god, this is so fresh." It was wonderful. They hired a 5-star chef. The food is phenomenal. I walked around the whole building, and there was not one dead plant. And I do that every time I go and see my father. Never a dead plant. They have a gardener who's really taking care of the grounds. It's beautiful. The place is only 6 months old. Anybody who goes there would be happy. At Cornerstone, if my dad needs more assistance, he gets more assistance, but he doesn't lose his place. We don't have to go over there and move him out.

I saw Cornerstone of Weymouth. It's $6,500 a month, and you have to pay a one-time $4,500 community fee, but that's a lot of money. The tour was wonderful, and the staff was wonderful. It's great, and it's an hour away from my children. Their units are all apartments, and they have a cafe and a restaurant. They have a lot of regular amenities, too. It was wonderful. They couldn't have been any better, but for two people, you're talking about $6500 a month.

I toured Cornerstone of Weymouth. I liked everything I saw about the place, but it's just expensive. The lady who took me on the tour was very nice and thorough, and I liked her very much.
