We have moved my mother into Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard. It's a beautiful facility. They have nice small apartments for them. I like the facility best because they have different levels of memory care. All the residents get assessed every six months, and if they have to go to a different level of memory care, they can move on. This means that my mother is with people who are at the same level of memory care as she is. So far, the staff has been very helpful and very pleasant. They're making her feel very comfortable. The food looks lovely. They have a nice, beautiful cafeteria, a hair salon, a gym and a TV room. They also have lots of activities for them to get involved in, and they also take them out for daytrips. With the staff, as far as moving my mother in, getting her settled, and helping me to help her get through this, they are a 5. They are wonderful. The price is absolutely worth it.

I went to see Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard. It was a big high-rise building, so it was tough to get from place to place in the building. It was very big but it had everything. My biggest problem with this place was that it was pricey. The staff was great, they were wonderful. They had everything you can imagine there and more, they had a salon, they had a gym, they had massages, and they had all kinds of stuff. In terms of location, everything is there.

Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard was fantastic. It's a great facility. We liked that they were the only ones with an early-stage memory center. They have a nice movie theater, a therapy area, and a nice private kitchen that they can use to cook. The staff was also really nice.

I toured Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard. Driving into the facility, I looked at it and I had questions about it because of the curb appeal. It looks like an old brick building, but as soon as you enter, it is very nice. The staff was very nice. One thing I do remember about that location, is they have a memory care unit, so if it was determined my mom had dementia, they have facilities to handle that. And it is a locked-down floor in the building, so you have to have code access to access that area. They showed me around, and I saw a chapel, a hairdressing salon, and an exercise room, which were very nice. I met a couple of the residents, and they seemed to be very happy. At the very end of the tour, they showed me a room that they had set up. It was a room where residents could get on to like Zoom or Skype or something like that to see their family. It had a nice computer and big monitors, so they could see their family, and I thought that was a very nice idea. The accommodation was very similar to what I saw. I saw one room like a hotel room. They have both fully furnished as well as unfurnished. Their price was a little bit more expensive, and that's the only thing. Because of the memory care facility that they have, that is very nice indeed. If someone needed it, that would probably be a place to go, but the prices were a little bit to swallow.

Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard was bright, modern, very friendly, and clean. The people had a lot of good energy, and they had lots of good programs going on. It seemed like a happy place. When you walk in, it has a beautiful entry way with beach-themed paintings, updated artwork, and fresh flowers. You walk into large hallways and there's an elevator and coffee available. Nearby, they had a fireplace room for gathering with friends and family adjacent to the dining area and a bar area, too. They had a library, exercise room, salon, pool table, and movie room.

My father spent quite a while there for rehab. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and compassion they all showed towards him. From the housekeepers to the director, everyone was so understanding to my fathers needs. The Dr. always kept me well informed and spoke to all of my siblings at a family meeting. The nurses treated my father as their own. His stay at Wingate on Blackstone was wonderful. Thank you to the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams as well. We will remain forever grateful to everyone.

My dad went for rehab. PT and OT were on par with my expectations. They did a great job with him. Nursing staff was personable, but I didn't care for the lack of communication and ignoring of wishes regarding their changes to his meds. Their doctor never called me back to discuss. Physical plant is spacious and welcoming, although it's showing it's age.

We looked at EPOCH for my mother and didn’t find it to be quite as open. It was an older building that was too dark, and the location wasn’t as good as the other facility we looked at. The person who showed us around was fine, but I did not see a room. The facility was OK, but the other facility was in a better location.

Thank you for taking time to write. Our building’s interior warm colors and spacious grounds appeal to many, as does our adjacent location to the Butler Hospital campus. I'm not sure why you weren't shown a room, but I will check with our staff about the oversight. I hope you had a chance to try our food, one of the highlights of our community. In fact, our chef is quite well-known in the area. I invite you back anytime for the chance to see a room and enjoy a meal.

We found Epoch Senior Living on Blackstone, and mom's actually moving there tomorrow. It seemed like a good fit for my mother. It was moderate in size and reasonable in price, and we were impressed with the staff that we interacted with. They were friendly and helpful. We thought they were adequate for my mother's needs.
Provider Response
We welcome your mom to the community and hope she enjoys living with us. Thank you for sharing your impressions too; we appreciate the kind words. As we probably told you during your visit, you are always welcome and thank you for entrusting us with the care of your mom.

Epoch on Blackstone is very clean and very nicely decorated. It is in a convenient location because it is close to me. The facilities are very nice. They are all very pleasant, and they help you out. They have activities all day long. It is close to a park, close to the neighborhood, and close to a hospital. It is for my father, and it is a big adjustment coming from New York.

Epoch was great because it had every range of care for somebody that's going to be there. It had a good Alzheimer's facility. It was more of a commercial place. It had the full continuum of care. It seemed to be well managed. The rooms were large, but it was more hospital like. They had activities. I would recommend it for somebody who was seeking for person with more needs. They would be better suited there.
Provider Response
Thank you for the four stars and taking the time to write. Our philosophy is to provide as much - or as little - care as residents need. Safety and independence are both important. A key part of that is having a welcoming, comfortable environment supported by knowledgeable staff. On a side note, we hope you had time to join us for a meal while you were here. Our chef is very creative and well-respected in Rhode Island.

Epoch is very good. They have little walking paths and pool tables. They also have a debate discussion group, which we liked. They treat the residents with respect.

EPOCH is an excellent facility. In my experience, employees from the administrators to the maintenance staff have been consistently friendly, helpful, and accommodating to both guests like me and residents. The building I've visited in Providence appears clean and safe. Residents of the facility are wholly positive about the living conditions, food, and care they receive. I have been impressed by the positive attitude and energy at EPOCH - my friends seem to feel secure but also empowered and independent. Something I've been particularly impressed with at EPOCH is the administration's unfailing efforts to provide truly stimulating cultural and social activities for residents. Whether it's speakers from the local theater or public radio station or book discussion groups or visits from political candidates of all affiliations, residents have ample opportunity to engage with one another and with their community. I believe this kind of engagement makes all the difference in keeping minds fresh, attitudes positive, and people healthy.
