Memory Care Communities in Franklin, MA

"Had two tours on separate days. Mom will be moving in very soon ( after she finishes rehab). Staff very friendly, helpful and fine with answering all your questions. The few residents I spoke with are very happy here. Also spoke to adult children of six residents and they say that after a 1-3 month adjustment period, all their loved ones were happy to be here and considered it "home". Very, very pleased with my experiences thus far. "

"My father is in Blaire House of Milford Assisted Living. One of the reasons we chose it is his age and the fact that it does have a nursing home attached to it if he needs to go from assisted to nursing care. It's clean, and it's smaller. There's always staff present. They're fantastic. They know exactly what's going on with him and they're willing to help with everything. I have not tried their food, but my dad said it was a huge improvement over his rehab. Every time we walk in, activities are going on. They have painting, history trivia, and music trivia, and there is a classic movie shown. My dad is in a shared suite. It has a small kitchen facility with a table, a sink, and a refrigerator, and it has a large bathroom. He and his roommate each have separate bedrooms that are large enough to hold his recliner, his bed, and his bureau table."

"We looked at New Pond Village. The staff working there were very cordial and very intelligent. They seemed to know what they were doing. We had dinner there. Food was very well handled, and it was a good menu. It was very nice. We visited a two-bedroom apartment and a one-bedroom apartment. The two-bedroom apartment had a larger bathroom than the one-bedroom, but they're both very adequate. "

"My dad moved into Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree. So far, we love it all. The staff is warm and friendly. My dad's apartment is clean, neat, and relatively new. They have a library, a concierge service for their family members along with their residents, housekeeping, laundry service, programs, and transportation. The staff members have been wonderful, forthcoming, and attentive. They don't have a swimming pool, but they have a garden."

"The Highlands on the East Side was similar to the other place we went to. They use their own staff, they don't go outside for extra help. The rooms were a good size, we got a nice tour. They were having lunch while we were there, but we didn't eat. The patio area was nice, where they could sit outside and stuff. So I did like that facility. The staff was very nice. There was a nurse that did an assessment to see where my mother's cognitive level was and stuff, and that was helpful. Everything was very clean. I think the staff was interactive with the residents, and also with us as we were going through."

"I toured Wingate Residences on Blackstone Boulevard. Driving into the facility, I looked at it and I had questions about it because of the curb appeal. It looks like an old brick building, but as soon as you enter, it is very nice. The staff was very nice. One thing I do remember about that location, is they have a memory care unit, so if it was determined my mom had dementia, they have facilities to handle that. And it is a locked-down floor in the building, so you have to have code access to access that area. They showed me around, and I saw a chapel, a hairdressing salon, and an exercise room, which were very nice. I met a couple of the residents, and they seemed to be very happy. At the very end of the tour, they showed me a room that they had set up. It was a room where residents could get on to like Zoom or Skype or something like that to see their family. It had a nice computer and big monitors, so they could see their family, and I thought that was a very nice idea. The accommodation was very similar to what I saw. I saw one room like a hotel room. They have both fully furnished as well as unfurnished. Their price was a little bit more expensive, and that's the only thing. Because of the memory care facility that they have, that is very nice indeed. If someone needed it, that would probably be a place to go, but the prices were a little bit to swallow."

"I visited the assisted living facility of Smithfield Woods Senior Living. They seem very friendly, and the place has a nice atmosphere. The apartments seem very nice, too, so everything is good and I'm happy with it. The upkeep is excellent. It's very clean, and I didn't see any issues. It seems to be well taken care of. I saw one room had a pool table, and another room had a little bar. They also have meeting rooms where people can gather for entertainment. It seems very good. I only met a couple of people from the staff, but they seemed very nice."

"We had a visit at Emeritus at Farm Pond and it was great. Everybody was so polite and so helpful. They gave me phone numbers which I can call. Everything looks so nice and beautiful. The area was very clean and very quiet. "

"Wingate Residences on the East Side was very nice and very much like a hotel. The staff was very attentive to our tour and very nice. It seemed like they had a daily schedule of nice activities to do, like a pool and exercise program in an exercise room. "

"We ruled out All American Assisted Living because my mother-in-law doesn't want to go into a two-bedroom. The facility was brand new, and the food was good, but the set-up is for automatic; you can't have a single room. "

"We found The Residences at Wingate for my mother. The community actually has two separate buildings. There is the skilled nursing building and the assisted living building. The assisted living has both normal assisted living with a dining area and entertainment, and then there’s the memory care that has the security and extra activities. They’ve worked hard to hire good people and train them to really be understanding of the residents. They seem to be doing a very good job with what they said they would be doing. They have a kitchen on-site that tries to do a good job. "

"We settled on Anchor Bay East Providence. Not only did we like the facility, but it was an easy driving distance for my brother to visit my mother often. I have not tried their food, and I don't believe my brother has either, but my mother seems to enjoy the food very much. We are also very impressed with the size of the single room we have settled on. It is quite spacious. It has a full shower and bath, a sink, and a small refrigerator. My in-person visit included looking at an activity, which was watching a film. The residents were singing along with the songs on it, and they all seemed to be very involved. We also think it's less expensive than many places we've encountered."

"The staff at Adelaide are dedicated and loving (despite the full PPE). Residents have access to a physician, a psychiatrist, dental, podiatry, and a host of other support services and amenities on-site. The nurses and family liaison assist with organizing the support. Adelaide looks quite a bit a little different that other Memory Care facilities I visited. The natural light is abundant! The community also has access to internal courtyards which the residents (and visiting families) use frequently. Expensive but the extra benefits are clear."

"My mother was he,re which was a beautiful place, but they didn't take Medicaid. I highly recommend it. They have their own apartments there. The place is very clean. The food is amazing. They have their own personal chef. The apartments are beautiful. It's like a studio apartment with a nice, big bathroom and a little kitchen area. The dining area is absolutely beautiful. It looks like a five-star restaurant. They take them on field trips and to restaurants. They have people come in and entertain once a week. They do movies and all kinds of activities. All the staff were extremely nice. It's expensive because my mother doesn't have a lot of money. They go by the level of care because there are different levels of dementia."
