"My mother has been in Brookdale Cushing Park for over four years now, and she loves the people there, but she needs additional assistance than she can get in assisted living. The overall experience was excellent, the people were wonderful, and they would help however they could. She loves the food, she loves the chef there, Mike. They had meetings where all the residents could meet with Mike, and tell him what they'd like to see on the menu. They're very, very accommodating to the residents. The building is very nice, they just finished redoing it with the fireplace and everything else, we did the country kitchen, so they keep up with their premises, and you got the Cushing park where it's nice to watch people walking even if you can't walk. They have a beauty salon there, they have a podiatrist come in, they have chair exercises every morning, trivia, and I think once a week they do the news type thing where they all sit down and discuss that. She's blind and deaf, so it's a little difficult for her to participate in all the other things like bingo and all that stuff, but they do that, they take them out on bus rides, around like in the Fall to see the leaves, and they do have quite a few different musicians come in and play. That's what she enjoyed the most when they could have people come in and play the old songs. For COVID where nobody could do anything they did a video, one of their people is a semi-professional dancer, she and her husband danced, and they did a video dancing to the Christmas music, so they do quite a bit for their people."

"I was impressed with the quality of the facility at the Residences. The guy who worked with the lighting made it very cheerful, and they were in the process of increasing the size of the facility by 30 percent. The apartment was about 500 to 600 sq. ft. The staff was very satisfactory. There were a lot of activities and a garden to maintain while getting ready for summer. They had a restaurant in the facility, and the food was better than most restaurants. "

"My parents lived at Anchor Bay for 3 years and we could not have been happier for the care, environment and kindness. First, their health and safety is paramount at Anchor Bay. They were excellent at communicating when my parents' needs were not able to be met or there were issues that needed addressing. Their activities are varied and many. Definitely something for everyone. But really, the best thing is the staff. They pay attention and provide care in the kindest possible way. THis is a very difficult job and the staff handles it with great respect, kindness and humor. "

"Sophia Snow Place is all inclusive, so Mom has assistance with anything she needs. She has meal choices, 3 times a day plus the pastry cart in the morning, help with showering and meds, does yoga and has wonderful caregivers, she loves them all. They are consistent and helpful and pleasant and she feels very secure. The facility itself is immaculately clean, her room is very large and comfortable. The people are organized and helpful, there is someone at the door who knows when people go in and out. They were referred to us by the nurses that do care there, and it was a great decision. There is nothing that she misses from home!"

"I am in Maplewood at Weston. The staff is super. They are very nice. I have a disability,, and they take very good care of me. I am happy with the food, and I don't see any problem. I have a great handicap-equipped room. It is something that I love. If I am single, this is the kind of apartment that I will rent. The security is fine, absolutely no problem. "

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."

"We toured Allerton House Weymouth. What we like best about them is the decor and the appearance of the place. We like the location, too. Everything basically meets our expectations of what we would be looking for should we decide to move somewhere. However, they probably would not provide transportation to our doctors that we use now. The staff members were good. It looked like there was a good variety of food and a lot of options that you can take. It's very flexible as far as when you eat."

"We're very impressed with Cornerstone of Weymouth. This was a 10 out of 10 on general review. The community was great. The residents were very, very informative. The co-directors, Siobhan and Janie, who are actually sisters, were far and away the most helpful of any of the management that I met from any of the recommendations. I had an excellent lunch there with two men who were already residents and two who were like me, looking to find a place. The best thing about it was that they have an absolutely wonderful exercise room with treadmills and other exercise equipment, the best of any of the facilities that I saw. They have a washer and dryer in the one-bedroom."

"I visited Clifton Assisted Living last week to look at their assisted living. The tour was fine. It was a nice, small community that was very well-kept. I can't comment on the type of care the residents receive, but the place looks very appealing. It was very clean and organized. The staff I met was also fine."

"Allerton House is very good. I remember it was my second choice. The surroundings are very clean, very nice, and updated. I know they have activities, but I didn't see anything going on. The people are extremely nice. The atmosphere impressed me. The experience was very pleasant. "

"I spoke with a woman, Katie, here. She was very helpful. I thought the layout was great. It was tidy and a nice area. The common areas and the couple of rooms we looked at were very nice. There was a garden out back, which seemed wonderful. My aunt prefers to spend her time outdoors in a garden area. It was better than the other place we toured. Overall, it was a positive visit. It was between meals when we went, so it was relatively quiet. We saw a bunch of folks who just seemed to be relaxing in the common areas. The dining area was very nice. The pub was also quite nice. The natural lighting was great. The layout was nice, and the place was tidy. The place looked very nice."

"Wingate Residences at Silver Lake was probably the best place I've ever been to, but my mother wanted was a two-bedroom, which is hard to find down here in Kingston. I would rate the lady that I met a five, definitely, and even the front desk lady was so nice. There's so much you have to do when you walk into these buildings now with the COVID-19, but even the front desk woman was appropriate and careful; she was great. The rooms and dining area were like a hotel, they were really, really nice. The room we looked at wasn't spacious, but it's indicative of assisted living situations that you're not going to find the palacial places with big, gorgeous rooms. The rooms here were bigger than the rooms in the other place we visited. They were a good size compared to others we've looked at. It was really homey and comfortable, and the residents were really happy. It's a great place and I was pleasantly surprised at how great they were."
