"s most children of a senior in need of assisted living, we wanted to make sure that we chose a place that was well maintained and where our Mom would feel at home and well cared for. Maplewood meets all of these requirements. It is a lovely residence that is well maintained and overseen by a superior caring staff. The rooms are well proportioned and kept in good shape. The food is varied and healthy and there is a large variety of activities for the residents. Bernardo sets a tone of friendliness, teamwork and responsiveness. In these times, it is critically important that we are kept apprised of the health and safety of the residents and the staff, and Bernardo does an exceptional job in that regard. Maplewood is not inexpensive but we feel that our Mom is getting great care and is safe and happy. "

"I went to see Anthology of Millis. The atmosphere there was not as good as it could be. I know it was a nice place. It was a new place. The layout was OK. Some of the rooms may have been a bit smaller than the others. I'm not positive about that, but what bothered me most about it was the atmosphere there. The staff was nice. The gal who gave us the tour was nice, but it was just the place that had a different vibe."

"My parents will be moving to The Residences at Wingate. It's a relatively new place at only three years old. It has a very nice, clean feeling, a lot of lights, very open, and on the smaller side. I think there are 48 rooms. The staff was very positive. We met the executive director first and then the person who helps new people, and they were both excellent. We had lunch in the dining room and the staff was very friendly and nice. Everybody is doing a very good job. They have a nice dining room. I'm a chef, so I am very particular about food, but it's very well cooked. Everything was good. "

"The Commons in Lincoln has a very expensive buy-in. That's not what my mother wants, and I don't think it's good enough. There's a lot of construction going on right now because they're building a nursing facility as well as a separate assisted living even though in all the apartments, people can have assisted living too. It's very pretty. It has a lot of land, you can walk around, plus it's very easily accessible to Route 2, which means it's easy for me to get there. The person who took me around was very nice. Everybody seemed very friendly. They had great facilities. If that weren't such an expensive buy-in place, that would've been my #1, and that doesn't include the monthly fees. "

"Cabot Park Village is something like $4000 a month for one-bedroom unit. They do have a pool that's big enough to do laps in. They have a singing group. They do have personal trainers and that's included as part of your monthly fee. Some housekeeping is included as well. He was able to show me a one-bedroom and it was a very nice looking place. The kitchen wasn't large, but it was well organized. The dining area looked nice. I believe they have an elevator on either end of the building so people who have walkers do not have any trouble getting up and down. I think the building is two floors high. The staff was very nice. I can't drive anymore so they sent their van to pick me up. As I was getting a tour of the place, there were residents who kept coming up and saying that this is a great place. "

"The ambience at Atria Draper Place was good. I loved the fact that they were very close to the fire and police station, so they get a lot of help should they have issues with falling. They seemed to have some of that going on. I just liked the whole atmosphere and the people I talked to. It seemed to be a really nice fit for my parents. The rooms were big with really high ceilings. I liked the setup and everything. They had kitchen areas with stove tops (as opposed to just a microwave). The location was OK. They have work going on outside across the street, but I'm sure it'll be finished in time. It was just very comfortable, and all of the residents that we interacted with were all very friendly and happy there. I like it there a lot. They had different little stations around that people can engage in conversation, church activities, and an onsite salon. The person who toured us was great too."

"The Residence At Orchard Grove was beautiful. The staff was fantastic. The people looked extremely happy and they had a lot of different programs that they offered. They have activities where they could take them to go bowling or they could go on a bus ride to different places. They have people come into the facility, whether to paint or play music. They have a movie night every night for them if they choose to do so. I tried their banana bread, which was something that they sent me, and it was very good."

"We went with Traditions at Dedham. The first thing I liked was the fact that my mother actually could do assisted living, and my father would be in the dementia ward. It had both accommodations. They do have memory classes and exercise classes. They also take them out twice a week. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it is a wonderful facility. We wouldn’t have made that decision if it wasn’t like that. "

"My aunt moved into New Pond Village. We liked the facility itself, as well as the staff and the pricing was within range. The staff during the tour was wonderful. She actually was a deciding factor in us choosing there. The dining area looks like a restaurant and I was very impressed with that. Her room is very nice. She enjoyed the food. They take day trips every Tuesday and Friday, and they have six hours of scheduled activities every day. She hasn't really participated in a lot since she's only been there one full day, and they took a day trip yesterday. I know they have gardening, and they have game nights and things like that. It's a very impressive place. It was very clean. From what they told us, it looked like the activities would be a very good fit for her. She'll do very well there."

"The Residence at Watertown Square was nice. The staff was good. The rooms were clean and neat. We had lunch there and the food was quite nice. I didn't go into the residents' dining area because I was only a visitor, but they put me in a small room outside. Everything looked wonderful. Nothing against what they had. Everything looked wonderful but small. There wasn't any garbage on the floors or anything, but I haven't seen them do a daily pickup of laundry or anything."

"I am a resident here. They're excellent. The food is very good. They serve three meals a day. They do an excellent job. Somebody comes in once a week to clean, to mop the floors, and all that. The building is in good shape, they have a very nice dining room. So I don't have any problems living here. Before the weather was starting to get cold here they had a lot of concerts outside, and they had singers and things like that. They had a movie theatre here, but they're not using it because they have to socially distance people. They can't do that. The thing I've enjoyed most are the times that they have had mostly discussion activities where they've talked about different things; that appealed to me. There's a floor where there is gym equipment, I haven't used it, but I guess people do. The staff is excellent. "
