"We chose The Residence at Watertown Square because of convenience and the atmosphere. The dining is pretty much any time from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so there isn't a set time for meals. They have a weekly van trip off-site and a varied activities calendar. The staff all seemed to be loving and caring. "

"I would like to tell you about the best move I ever made and it was to Maplewood Weston. First I loved the location –close to Rte 128 and the Mass Pike and about 5 minutes from Newton Wellesley Hospital and an Urgent Care facility. Next, my 2 bedroom apartment is bright and spacious and I also get weekly housekeeping and laundry. I enjoy my 3 meals a day with fresh menu choices and eating in the white tablecloth dining room, or I can get meal delivery to my apt. if I so choose. In addition, the chef and kitchen staff are so accommodating to individual requests. My favorite part of the day revolves around exercising. There is a Gym that is managed by an incredibly knowledgeable and helpful physical therapist. There are many group classes and individual training is available too no matter what your physical condition. I also use the Olympic size pool for swim classes twice a week. There are many activities including music, lectures, painting, a comfortable movie theatre. I have been able to provide a live recording of Fri. night religious services and refreshments that many residents enjoy. Another perk for me is the underground garage where I conveniently park my car, or if weather is bad I can take the complimentary car service to a Dr.’s appointment. The Maplewood staff-administration, CNAs, & maintenance I find to be friendly, efficient, and very responsive. There are different levels of care to address anyone’s needs. I have to add that I really appreciate the care taken around the Covid pandemic. Initially, a very strict visitor policy was put in place to keep us safe. We were among the first to get the vaccine, and, testing and temperature-taking continue to this day. To sum it up, I wholeheartedly recommend Maplewood to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, friendly, busy, vibrant, caring independent/assisted living community in which to live. "

"I am a resident here. They're excellent. The food is very good. They serve three meals a day. They do an excellent job. Somebody comes in once a week to clean, to mop the floors, and all that. The building is in good shape, they have a very nice dining room. So I don't have any problems living here. Before the weather was starting to get cold here they had a lot of concerts outside, and they had singers and things like that. They had a movie theatre here, but they're not using it because they have to socially distance people. They can't do that. The thing I've enjoyed most are the times that they have had mostly discussion activities where they've talked about different things; that appealed to me. There's a floor where there is gym equipment, I haven't used it, but I guess people do. The staff is excellent. "

"I had moved into Wingate Residences at Needham, but I had to move out again, not that I got sick and nobody around me got sick, but I knew I'd be in lockdown in their senior living and that would defeat the purpose of my living there, so I moved back home. I was there for a couple of weeks. They were very nice. It was a lovely place. They provide excellent service, good food, and things that you would hope for, but I didn't want to be isolated. There's a library, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a theater, but I couldn't take advantage of any of these things because of the Covid lockdown. I had two Covid tests, so I had to stay in quarantine the whole time. The physical appearance was beautiful. I had a little experience with the activities. I heard an excellent lecture on my first day, but then I had to go on quarantine, so I didn't get to experience anything."

"I'm at The Commons in Lincoln now. It is convenient to where I used to live. Also, they're planning to build a memory unit and skilled nursing, too. The staff's work attitude is very good. We have more things to do in a day. This afternoon, I went to two classes. Tomorrow, there would be a lecture by a professor. "

"We are going to go with Atria Marina Place for my mom. They have friendly and professional staff. The facility itself is nice, clean, and bright. It is very close to the ocean, and it is close to Boston. Those were the factors that stood out to me. We had lunch the last time we were there, and the food was pretty good. They're doing great."

"The Delaney at the Vale wasn't right for us, but it was a fine facility. The staff was very helpful and spent a lot of time. It really seemed ideal for a certain kind of person, but we wanted to be more urban. We are New Yorkers, and it was like a resort. It's not really what we wanted. We needed it to be closer to town, that kind of thing, but the facility itself was brand new."

"I visited here, it was good. The person that conducted the tour was new to the facility, so she's still learning about the facility. She has only been there two months. I learned a lot, but I am not sure if it is the right place for me yet. There are no stairs anywhere and I like that. It is three floors and the floors at different levels have good sized ramps. They're big, wide ramps and they are not steep so that was good. I looked at one apartment, and my real comment is I don't feel that they have big enough windows for me. I need more light. It seems to be in good shape. It's an older building that was completely remodeled. It used to be a hospital and they did a beautiful job with the remodeling. I am satisfied with the way they did it, they did it well. I wish they had changed the windows, but with the brick exterior it is hard to change the windows. They have a dining room and lots of activities. They seemed to have a lot of activities because I looked at the list on what they have. They also have a pub which is open a couple of days a week. They have things that I am interested in, but they don't have a musical program, a chorus of any kind or a band. A lot of them do that now. I am a musician and I really need to be in a music place."

"I worked a lot with Brookdale Cushing Park for my mom, and they were great. I was very pleased with them. We chose it for its location. My mom wanted to stay in her hometown of Framingham, and they were there. She also wanted flexibility in regard to the smoking policy. My mom has been a smoker more often than not in her life, and of all the places in Framingham that I looked at, this was the only place that had an outdoor smoking area where they would allow residents to smoke cigarettes. I actually went ahead, signed a lease, and moved her belongings into an independent living apartment, but she passed away a week and a half after her belongings were moved in. So she remained in the hospital and was not able to move in. Everything seemed to be easily accessible, the decor was warm and inviting, and they were spread out for safety due to COVID, but it was still a warm and inviting place where people could safely connect with each other."

"Orchard Cove had a full range of services from independent living to assisted living to a nursing home. I thought it was an extremely warm community with more support services than any other else, and the fact that it was a non-profit helped. My mom is also about to have a beautiful apartment in a beautiful location, and we felt very comfortable with the people there. This was the best place we saw. It is surrounded by pine groves and a pond, so it is a very pretty spot. "

"It is working out fine. We did a virtual tour. We saw the assisted living and independent living facilities. They haven't had a lot going on because of the virus, but there definitely are activities. The staff is very pleasant. My friend hasn't complained about the food. The facility is very clean and very nice. The rent is high, but you're getting all the utilities and one meal a day, so it's not bad. All the dining is done in the rooms. The rooms are very clean."

"Allerton House at Central Park is very nice. The location is good. There are plenty of grounds to walk outside. The staff was really very friendly. They were quite nice. The facility is newer and very bright. There is a lot of natural sunlight and a lot of bright colors. It feels almost like a resort hotel, so it is very nice. I enjoyed that tour."

"My grandmother was a resident at Allerton House, and so we came to visit this place again when we were looking for a facility for our parents. My parents already knew this place, and they like it. They also like the location, but they have limited availability for two people, and we are looking for a place for my parents. The food was fine. The facility is really nice. The rooms were nice. "

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."
