I visited this facility

I toured Atria Longmeadow Place. I liked everything. The location was beautiful. The place was beautiful. They had a gorgeous garden that you could go out and relax in. All the rooms had for either eating or socializing were incredible, just so nice. The people were extremely nice. Diane who gave me the tour and helped me with different things was exceptional. She's great. I mean, you're lucky to have her working there. All the tenants seem very happy, which is a big bonus. In some places, they just don't look very happy. It's just the place I highly recommend. The quality of living is very good. The apartments were very nice. The one bedroom gave you a large kitchen space. It was very good and had a lot of closets and storage space. They gave me a huge box of these incredibly big chocolate chip cookies that were delicious.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We began looking for an assisted living center for our mom in late 2023 and our first tour was at Atria. We enjoyed the layout of the building and outside grounds with its beautiful plants and trees, but we were especially drawn to Atria because of Diane and the staff at Atria!! They genuinely cared for our mom’s situation and were willing to help in any way to have her move to her new home. At that point, my mom had not visited Atria and was not ready to move but I told Diane that she would be a resident here one day. Unfortunately, our mom had an accident in 2024, so we scheduled a tour for her at Atria. As soon as she walked in, she fell in love with the high ceilings, the bright lighting, the building layout but especially the front and rear sitting areas. We visited rooms, and she immediately began mentally placing her furniture in the room! We then went downstairs and had lunch, which was very good, and met several staff members and residents. This made her feel extremely comfortable and welcome which made her decision to move to Atria very easy. Throughout the process, we met with Diane and some of the staff and learned about their employee retention, which is absolutely incredible to have employees working at Atria for multiple years!! And everyone always has a smile on their face, which is real because it shows in their eyes. My mom especially enjoys walking by the front desk on her way out to the sitting area and seeing Ricky; according to her, he ALWAYS has a smile on his face and is so helpful!! If you want, or have your family member, to be in the BEST assisted living center, please schedule an appointment with Diane!!

Rooms are air - clean - welcoming. Atmosphere is friendly and active. Overall the design of the building is most appealing and conducive to a harmonious and varied lifestyle. The grounds and plantings are particularly beautiful. The staff is noticeably caring and kind. There is emphasis on varied learning entertainment and exercise opportunities. Excursions are planned regularly and are responsive to residents' interests. The location is A+.

Mom recently moved into Atria , and is really enjoying her new home , from the caring and attentive staff - friendly & help full residents & weekly entertainment to the convenient location close to lahey -clinic (right across street) and one the her favorite thing about Atria is *flexible meal times* if visiting you have about 90 minutes of flexible meal time to attend with resident (not all facilities) have this ! Great for planned visits! Mom and I viewed many facilties- and truly nothing compared to Atria - Come by see Diane for a Tour - and you'l you'l quickly see Atria is the Place to be!

Atria Longmeadow Place looked nice. It was clean and the staff seemed friendly enough. It seemed to have a bright atmosphere, and the colors and the decor seemed to have sort of a lively feeling. I didn't try their regular food but they gave us pumpkin pie for the holidays when we left, and it was delicious. It was a nice surprise and it was good. They had the happy hour starting, and there were probably 6 or 7 residents and an aide in the pub area. They put on some music, and I think they were getting ready to dance. So it seemed like they were enjoying themselves.

My husband and I moved into Atria Longmeadow Place in February 2023. The helpful staff assisted us in getting adjusted to our new home and he residents we were introduced to quickly became dear friends. We have made many fun memories at Book Club, Yoga, Karaoke, etc and the outings organized by the staff.

Atria Longmeadow Place had terrific staff. Diane spent a lot of time with me. I was also really impressed by the staff retention rate. It's phenomenal. People stay there for years and years, which is a really good sign. I think they also compensate their staff well, which is important and adds to retention. The rooms were a pretty good size. It had everything anybody could need. They were 100% accessible to people with disabilities or mobility impairments, which was wonderful. It's a bit smaller and more intimate than the other place. They are undergoing a major renovation right now but it didn't even matter. It didn't ruin the ambiance, which was surprising, even though a lot of it was under plastic. It still felt like home, and I think it was the ambiance that they have set, which is pretty exceptional. They have a lot of amenities. There, we spent more time talking about memory care. I think the staff said 40% of their residents are men, which was great for my dad. They have a lot of folks who like to do sort of more intellectual or mentally stimulating kinds of things. They have a lot of active residents who are also mentally active. They were in the middle of doing deep cultural dives on different countries around the world and that includes learning about the holiday, history, and also food that goes along with it. They're working to keep people engaged and learning about things in different ways. If it's a married couple and one of them is in assisted living and the other is in memory care, they offer a discount for couples that are using two different apartments. For us, that's a significant draw. These are expensive propositions to do and having a discount, was a big deal. They also sent me fresh cookies home, and they're the best cookies I've ever had.

The person showing me around knew everybody by name. The rooms were fine but small if you have a lot of large pieces. They had kitchenettes instead of full kitchens but that works if you take advantage of the meals provided. Independent living units were on same floors as assisted living units. The restaurant and the menu looked good. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the monthly price that seems commensurate with other senior living facilities. Activities range from exercise to cultural talks to shopping excursions and more. There are all sorts of workshops. The grounds are pretty with gardens and a patio. The surroundings are laid out to be scenic so you don't realize you are convenient to all sorts of shopping and attractions. I don't use the Lahey health system but it is right across the street. I was told the age ranges from mid-60s to 100+. I am 61 and am going to wait before I move to a senior community.

I visited this facility

I went to Atria Longmeadow Place. The woman I spoke with sat with me, and we had a long talk about the situation with both my stepmother and my dad. She was very helpful in giving me insights. She explained the different units that were available and the cost structure. She went over everything the facility had to offer. She took me to a studio apartment and then another one. We walked through the entire facility with her. We walked through the memory care unit as well, and she answered all my questions. We were very comfortable. I was able to kind of poke my head into places, so I felt like I got a good tour and a good feel for the place. I saw a room that had a functional kitchen area. It had a small stovetop, microwave, and refrigerator. Someone that was living there could have the option to prepare meals, if they wanted to in their room. I saw the kitchen area, the living room, the bedroom, and the bathroom. I saw another unit where there was a kitchenette, but you could see it was set up for someone who was not going to be preparing their own meals. It had no stove or anything like that, but it had a sink and a refrigerator. The rooms at the memory care were a little bit bigger in size. They were all pretty much like a studio in the memory care unit. I saw the memory care open area, which pretty much was well-staffed. Some people were doing activities, but they were all together. They seemed to be encouraging socialization and keeping the folks together (if they wanted to be). The people were very upbeat and positive, so I liked that. I liked that you could go right out into a nice yard area that had some walking paths. There were places where people could sit outside. They could go in and out on their own if they wanted to, but it was secure. The non-memory care folks were separated. The memory care and the non-memory care folks had different dining rooms. The memory care folks pretty much stay in the memory care unit, unless they have spouses that are in the assisted living area. The dining area looked great, and the people were socializing. I saw an activity room where they had painting and things like that every day. I saw calendars that listed all of the other events that were going on. People could actually leave for trips outside the facility, and it was close to a mall. People could go out if they wanted. They had a van that takes people out. They had areas if you wanted to read, do puzzles, and things like that. The actual facility itself was great. They had outside space, but I think it would have been nice if there was more space.

Atria Longmeadow Place seemed like a well-managed and nice place to live. They had wonderful food and wonderful staff. The front of it was OK. It looks out to the parking lot. (Although if you're up higher in the front, you would see trees.) I liked more the view from the back. It is more of a bucolic setting. You see a lot of trees, woods, and stuff. It's pretty. The activities they have are excellent. I was impressed by the fact that they will transport people to doctors' appointments at a pretty big distance. The activities director was very nice and charming.

My mother moved into Atria Longmeadow Place. The staff went out of the way to make sure our move was smooth, and they made sure my mom felt well and had everything that she needed. And even after being there for days, they made sure she got to her appointment today and was patient. It's been great. Her room is nice, it's a little small, and that would be the only negative. But it's adequate, it's clean, and it's updated, so that part is good. There's a library, an exercise room, a bar area, a courtyard with a barbecue, and a very big dining room.

BERNADETTE D. is an aide who is very pleasant and most helpful. My wife says that Bernadette gives the best showers. Both my wife and I take an abundance of pills at various times of the day. Bernadette knows what to give us and when to give us our medications. She helps us keep our apartment clean by removing all the trash and straightening up in general. She has a pleasant disposition and is at all times most courteous.

I took my father to look at assisted living facilities a couple years ago. We looked at several in the area and Atria was a stand out. Not only was it beautifully appointed but so homey at the same time. Residents and staff get along very well and feel like one big family. It’s a very happy, active and upbeat group.

Atria Longmeadow Place was very nice, very clean and looked very up-to-date. They were very nice, very personable, helpful, and very willing to work with me to get my mom in there. The person I've dealt with was very kind. I almost made the decision to have my mother go there rather than what I had chosen for her now.

The tour at Atria Longmeadow Place was very informative, the actual facilities were very nice, and the staff was excellent. I looked at 1-bedroom apartments, the dining area was nice, and they offer social events. It was more expensive than what we we're looking to find.

Provider Response

Ken, Thanks for visiting us at Atria Longmeadow. It was our pleasure to show you around. Feel free to contact us again if we can support your family's senior living search.

We selected Atria Longmeadow Place. It's a nice facility, and I think it's laid out well. The rooms and common areas are nice, my dad likes his room, and it was very clean when we moved in. It's not too big, but there's enough space for one person. The staff has been very good, and I think he's happy with the services they've provided. They take them to the restaurant sometimes, or to the grocery store, but if you are not one of the first eight peopl to sign up, you don't get to go, so there was an occasion where he couldn't go out to eat. They just have one van and there wasn't enough space. That's been a little hard. He's been very happy with the food, and there's a walking group, but he was the only one that showed up to that. He's slowly getting to be a little social.

Atria Longmeadow Place is excellent and the staff has been very good, helpful and accommodating. The place and amenities are beautiful and very good. They have their own transportation service to get them out of the building at least once a week. They have a little pub, a piano area, entertainment, church services, cooking classes and Bingo. They're very well-equipped. The food is fantastic. They're giving my great aunt a time to acclimate there since she has only been there a week and a half, so they're great. It's all-inclusive in the memory care. Parking could be a little bit better since it's a bit of a challenge, but as far as everything else, it's good.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The residents at Atria Longmeadow Place are all very friendly. I've eaten there a couple of times and in the eating area, the people are chatting, laughing, and having a good time. The staff is very helpful to each resident that is there. If it's 11:00 and you want to eat breakfast, they'll make it for you. They are a little bit more accommodating as far as that goes. They have happy hour twice a week and casino nights, so all the residents are invited and any of the family could come. They have a Mother's Day, and the family members can come to it. Once a week, they take the residents to a restaurant for lunch. My mother-in-law plays Wii bowling, and she's actually socializing. I don't think there is anything they can improve on. They're just very friendly. It's a private assisted living, so the upkeep of their facility is much better. They also do have an Alzheimer's unit.
