"The Delaney at the Vale wasn't right for us, but it was a fine facility. The staff was very helpful and spent a lot of time. It really seemed ideal for a certain kind of person, but we wanted to be more urban. We are New Yorkers, and it was like a resort. It's not really what we wanted. We needed it to be closer to town, that kind of thing, but the facility itself was brand new."

"My mom moved into the Woods at Merrimack. The facility is new and clean. The apartments are beautiful. The one meal I had there was delicious. Their maintenance staff was right there with us at the move in to help us with anything that we needed help with. Their concierge or front desk staff was amazing, so our first 24 hours have been great. Their activity sheet is pretty extensive."

"My mother is a resident in the memory care unit. She went in during Covid restrictions which were managed well. The personnel have been very kind and professional, consistent in their care even with staff turnover. She enjoys the view of trees and wildlife from her room and seems very comfortable there. The facility has always been clean and well monitored when I have visited, without feeling sterile. Having access to all her healthcare needs in one location has been a big benefit. I feel that the food and activities package lives up to the advertised expectations. We have had a couple administrative issues but they were resolved quickly once we found the right channels. Maplewood is not inexpensive but offers high quality care compared to some other places we looked at."

"It was certainly in an acceptable location. The facility itself, the accommodations,and the way they handled the meals were fine. The ability to go from one level to another and how they dealt with the guests were acceptable. They showed me the garden that some of the residents had access to. "

"I spoke with a woman, Katie, here. She was very helpful. I thought the layout was great. It was tidy and a nice area. The common areas and the couple of rooms we looked at were very nice. There was a garden out back, which seemed wonderful. My aunt prefers to spend her time outdoors in a garden area. It was better than the other place we toured. Overall, it was a positive visit. It was between meals when we went, so it was relatively quiet. We saw a bunch of folks who just seemed to be relaxing in the common areas. The dining area was very nice. The pub was also quite nice. The natural lighting was great. The layout was nice, and the place was tidy. The place looked very nice."

"Another place we went to was The Residences at Wingate. It is a new place. It was very good. They have all the amenities. We didn't eat there, but it looked like a very nice place. It was a little bit pricey though. The apartments were of good size, and they're all new. They were all in different shapes. All the apartments we saw were good. The dining area was a big area. I guess you would call it formal dining with tablecloths. They have a pub too. It was a very nice-looking place. "

"My sister is at Sophia Snow Place. It's very comfortable and well-furnished. The food is good, and I like that. I don't think they have enough staffing though. With regard to activities, the only thing she attends is the poetry group. She doesn't care to be engaged in anything else. Her room is spacious. She has a double bed in there. She has a recliner and another chair, and she's able to hang all the paintings that she loves. The place is clean, too."

"I chose Manor on the Hill for my Dad, after he was diagnosed with cancer and couldn't live alone anymore. My brother and I toured at least 6 places and felt that the Manor offered the friendliest feel. He actually wound up reuniting with a couple of old work friends he hadn't seen in at least 35 years. He was a wisecracker and the staff somehow always managed to laugh at his bad jokes. Unfortunately my Dad died after being there only 6 months, but it wasn't totally unexpected. The staff at the Manor were great - warm, understanding and professional - and very respectful of my family's need for privacy. "

"Allerton House is very good. I remember it was my second choice. The surroundings are very clean, very nice, and updated. I know they have activities, but I didn't see anything going on. The people are extremely nice. The atmosphere impressed me. The experience was very pleasant. "

"I visited Allerton House at Central Park. The gentleman who showed us everything was very nice. He gave a lot of facts and answered all my questions. He showed us two different apartments. One was a one-bedroom, and the other was like a studio. They were pretty good sized and handicapped appropriate. The staff seemed very nice. I ended up at the wrong building, so I didn't even really have an appointment, and that was nice of him to take time out. Everything was very clean. There were no smells. We parked right in front of the building. Everybody seemed friendly. They were setting up tables because they were having a big party. They had some outdoor space."

"We did an in-person tour of Bayberry at Emerald Court. It was a very nice facility, it was probably the best one we saw, and I was the most impressed with that one. The woman we met was very nice, very patient, she took us around everything we could go see. We went to see some of the rooms, we saw the dining facilities, the activity facilities, she had the memory care director meet with us while we were there, and she was very informative of things going forward, and stuff like that. They were excellent as a matter of fact."

"I went to Riverside Wood yesterday. It was like a hotel. The staff was excellent. It's very spacious. I'm going to have a four-bedroom home. It's very clean, and very well-maintained. There is still construction going on."

"Brightview was a very nice facility. It’s new, and it’s not convenient for walking. There wasn’t really much of any place to walk outside, but it’s near a major highway north of Boston so the access for people coming to visit is easy. It was pleasant and clean, and the people were nice. It seemed like a very nice facility for people who would be mainly within the facility. Someone took me around to visit. She was very pleasant. I just popped in to Brightview, and they were very nice about taking me even though I was unannounced. "
