Memory Care Communities in East Providence, RI

"Greenwich Farms at Warwick was a very nice place. Everybody was very nice. It was very clean. The deluxe studio has a little kitchenette, so it gives you enough room. It's my first choice. People went out of their way to open the door up for you and to be very pleasant. When I came, they had a sign welcoming me with my name on it. Twice I went there and at both times, they gave me a loaf of bread. Everybody was hospitable. They give you quite a variety of food. If you want to modify it somewhat, you can do that. They have so many choices if you want to substitute something other than what they're having. You can mix it up too. The food was very good and I'm a very picky eater. I attended bingo and I saw some of the activities that they had. They also have a little pub there. I would not be escorted to the lunchroom. They do the laundry for people, but I would do my own laundry except for the linens. They do the linens and they clean everybody's apartment."

"My wife moved into Victoria Court Memory Care. The biggest reason I chose it was that it's within five minutes of my house, for number one. And number two, it's very well-kept. Her room is very nice. I don't have any complaints at all right now. The staff is very cordial, her needs are being met, and they're doing what they're supposed to do. They seem to be very adapted. In other words, they look at the patients they're taking care of, and they're localizing their knowledge on each individual that they deal with. They get three meals a day and have different activities for the patients to take advantage of every day. They have bingo, and they do have something to keep patients interested. It's one of the most economical facilities I looked at, and for what you get for your money, it looks like it's a value."

"We toured Anchor Bay at Pocasset for my mom. If my mom could afford it, that's where she would be going. It was very clean. It did not have an odor to it. The room was nice and a decent size for what she needed. They were very helpful. My mom is a diabetic, so I expressed my concern for her food. They said they had different options she could choose from, and if I had any concerns, I could go over it with them. I have an aunt that has been living in Anchor Bay at Pocasset for 30 years now, and she said the place is wonderful. From what they showed us, it looked like they had good selections of activities for people to do."

"I visited Halcyon at West Bay and toured their assisted living for my husband. The people were very nice, kind, and polite. They gave me a complete tour and answered any questions I had. I like the facility. It was very clean and well taken care of. It was just a pleasant experience. I looked at a 1-bedroom, and it looked like there was enough space. It didn't feel crowded and cramped."

"I visited The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk RI Assisted Living Residence. I chose it for myself and my wife because it's closer to where I live. Also, I know people who have gone there. It's a beautiful place. The entire place is beautiful. It's clean and has no old person smell. The food is good. They have a gym and a library, but I haven't visited all the areas yet. The staff has been excellent. The building itself is spectacular, and it is organized."

"My mom moved to All American Assisted Living at Warwick, and it's nice that everything is planned for memory care. We're having good feedback from the staff. They were very attentive and didn't have a large turnaround of staff. It's the same people staying there. My mom said the food was very good. They do all sorts of in-house activities and also go out. The rooms are very good size."

"Apartments are oversized. Decorated nicely. Food is delicious."

"The tour I had at Brookdale Attleboro was great. The staff was really friendly. We met someone at reception. She met us right away then she introduced us to Karen, the director of admissions. We got a tour of the common areas and I thought they were beautiful. I was very, very impressed with everything, including the landscaping outside the building and when you first walked into the entrance (the reception area). I thought the dining room was beautiful. They showed us another room where families could kind of gather and everything about it was very nice. If that was within our budget, I would have been very happy to send my dad there. I think that would have been my first choice. We talked to Karen for about 45 minutes and even after she found out that that was not going to be an option for us, she still just gave us so much more information to help us make a good decision for my dad that was so helpful. We got a lot of invaluable information from her. So I appreciated that. They offered coffee and water when we walked in, which I thought was very nice, but we declined."

"I visited Smithfield Woods Senior Living and toured their assisted living facility for my friend. I like the sense of community and friendliness there. The staff members were extremely knowledgeable and very patient in answering my multitude of questions. The rooms, even though my friend will be having the smaller-sized room, are adequate. It's enough to fit a little seating area plus the bed, has a kitchenette, and the bathroom is a nice big size. I'm very pleased with it."

"I toured Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. It was very clean. The people were very friendly. They had lots of activities. The surrounding area was beautiful. They had two large views from the back, like big decks overlooking the bay. It was gorgeous. I did see the dining room, and it was beautiful."

"The staff at Brookdale Centre of New England was empathic, very nice, very professional, and very friendly. The rooms were simple and adequate. It had everything that you would pretty much need. There's absolutely a nice courtyard view. The grounds were fantastic. The courtyard was nice and seemed very open. They allow birds, and they have birdfeeders out. It was wonderful. There were grills out there and tables with umbrellas. Everything was nice. The dining area looked like a beautiful lodge. The food is homemade for the most part. The residents were socializing. I saw them with their class. They have a kitchen where they have cooking courses. I saw people getting their hair done in their private little spa."

"My mom moved into All American Assisted Living at Wrentham. I chose it because it was like the first one I went to, it was close to my house, and it was very clean. Everybody there is awesome. My mother has not complained about the food. She eats every meal. There's a lot of activities. They give a flier every day and they do them all day long. They do exercises, bingo, bowling, arts and crafts, and puzzles. They play games, like a Jeopardy type thing."

"My mother was at the All American. She was only there for about a month though. The food was very good. They had two separate bedrooms to a unit, and the people could have a TV or a phone. If you walked in the door to these two bedrooms, there was a little sitting area first of all, to the left of that was the bathroom and a shower, and then the two bedrooms -- each with their own door and separated by a wall -- and they were very clean. They did laundry every week for everybody, they had nursing and activities going on, people coming in for the activities, and three meals a day. This was the memory care, but the whole thing was assisted living with not more than 16 people in it, so it was a nice, hands-on type of thing. It was a very good place. My mom had her 101st birthday over there, and they gave her a wonderful party. They were fine. Everything was a five. "

"I visited the Blaire House of Milford Assisted Living, and it was very good. Everything was perfect, and I enjoyed the place. The staff members were excellent. They showed me everything, and they were very good and very open. The rooms were excellent and were a good size. They weren't too small or too big. Everything was clean. I saw their dining area, and the food and everything there looked good. There's no problem with parking, either."
