"Anchor Bay at East Providence was very clean, very well-kept, and very well-maintained. They seemed to have good activities and medical programs. The staff who assisted me was very pleasant and knew all the people there, it was a very good, positive environment. I thought that the upkeep was excellent, and it's in close proximity to other amenities."

"We found Epoch Senior Living on Blackstone, and mom's actually moving there tomorrow. It seemed like a good fit for my mother. It was moderate in size and reasonable in price, and we were impressed with the staff that we interacted with. They were friendly and helpful. We thought they were adequate for my mother's needs. "

"I went to Atria Bay Spring Village. It has a cozy, old time feel. It's a beautiful, clean facility. The people are extra nice. The apartments are really big for the price of it. I was surprised there. It's laid out beautifully and there aren't any rooms that I can see that don't have a view that you can enjoy. The residents there seem to be sweet and they cater to their every interest, any interest you can do, and they also take them out. They can schedule bus trips for doctor's appointments, and also they have bus trips for just fun and shopping, so I liked that very much. The staff was warm, welcoming, and caring, but they did make sure that safety precautions were allowed for. We had to wear masks. I had to show my booster card, so nobody gets in that isn't screened, so that's a safety thing. The masks were all on the residents that I saw, and the staff. I did see the menus for food, it looked like a varied and healthy menu, and you could choose different things. Not as much as a restaurant, for sure, but a couple of things. You could either have a late lunch and a big dinner, or a big lunch and a late supper."

"I toured Capitol Ridge at Providence. I was very impressed with them. I liked them very much because it was very homey. There were a lot of people. I liked the unit that my sister would be in, but she is a two-person transfer, and they can't accept her. I liked the community very much. It was very homey. There were residents walking in the corridor. I just liked the whole feeling about the place. Everything was fine. I was very pleased with it."

"It is a nice place. It was a very good fit for my mom and everybody there was very caring and very friendly. When I visited, the residents seemed to be very comfortable and they had their own space with some people playing bingo. What's nice about it is that they're qualified or certified for an additional level of care. They have extra licenses to have an extra level of care. The facility looks really clean too and very easy to get to. They looked like they had a lot of space and the structure seemed pleasant for the seniors. In the spring, they seem to have a nice outdoor court where the seniors can go. It's a full-time memory care and the staff, from what I've seen, was very friendly. They're also very reasonably priced."

"My brother was at Halcyon at West Bay and I thought they were lovely. They were very nice, the place was very clean, it's just a very nice place and everybody there was lovely. Their food was excellent. Their rooms were very, very nice, very well kept, and they were excellent. I have no complaints. They had games, they had shopping trips, they would take you out to doctors and things like that. They had games, arts and crafts, and things of that nature, they always had something going on, including a clambake in the summer. I was very pleased with them."

"The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk RI Assisted Living Residence wasn't as new as the other place. The dining area was very nice. They showed us empty rooms and it's hard to figure out how you're going to put furniture in it. Everybody was very nice. The staff was pleasant. I just found out that everybody was so old. I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel like I belonged there. They gave us menus to look at, to take home if we wanted, which we did, and everything looked good. They have tours and all kinds of things to do in different places."

"My mom moved to All American Assisted Living at Warwick, and it's nice that everything is planned for memory care. We're having good feedback from the staff. They were very attentive and didn't have a large turnaround of staff. It's the same people staying there. My mom said the food was very good. They do all sorts of in-house activities and also go out. The rooms are very good size."

"I visited Chapel Hill Senior Living. They were very nice. We very much enjoyed them. What I liked about it is it's a one-floor memory care unit. The staff definitely knew the residents. They called them by name, and then they had conversations as we were walking around. It was very clean. I also liked the fact that they had an area in the back with a garden, and it was not locked, so residents can go out if they want and come back in, and it's all gated. For my dad, who's a little bit more cognitive, to be able to actually go out into that area is very nice, because if it's locked, I think it makes him feel like he's in jail a little bit. The staff was wonderful. Cristina, who gave us the tour, was awesome, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I was super impressed. They had a patio and a courtyard."

"It was very nice. The whole thing was beautiful. It seemed to have everything you needed. Also, I thought this place was clean. They have beautiful rooms, nice sizes, with walk-in showers. They let us sample the food, and it was good. It was very nice, nicely presented, with beautiful tables. Also, the people were nice. "

"My brother has been in Smithfield Woods Senior Living for a couple of weeks now, and so far it's been pretty good. His apartment is very nice and bigger than some of the other ones we looked at. They have cable TV, and it's pretty much all-inclusive. The food is good, and the staff seems fine. They could use a little bit of a checklist when they're checking in, so that everybody's on the same page as to what the procedures are."

"Brookdale Sakonnet Bay was very nice. The location was nice. The facilitator of the tour was fantastic, answered a bunch of questions, and offered us lunch which we took to go. What we didn't like about it is that they were the only place that at the time not allowing us actually in the memory care facility. We could only get a sense of that facility with video. From what we've seen, the physical look of the community was quite good. It seemed well kept, but what we found was that there can be a big difference between the memory care part of the facility and the standard assisted living part of the facility. We were not able to determine that. The food was excellent. We were able to see all the facilities. They had everything. They even had an indoor pool. There was a library and outdoor courtyards."

"Brookdale Centre of New England was very clean and well sanitized. They were precautious with everything and making sure everybody had masks and all the rooms that were opened to you were sanitized. Everything was copacetic. They showed us what an assisted living room would be, what it will look like, and it was nice. There's a couch, a TV, a dresser, a bed, a large closet, and a bathroom. It's a typical studio apartment, except you can't cook in there. The person who did the tour was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and answered all our questions though."

"I toured All American Assisted Living at Wrentham. I had nothing negative to say about my entire experience. The woman I met was fantastic. She was very good and very informative, so I was impressed with that. She took me to one of the rooms that they would be renting. We really had a nice conversation for a long time. I felt like she really tried to understand my mother. I actually met other people that live there, which was kind of nice. One of them came up and sat down with me, and it was wonderful. I also met a few people that work there. I really felt like I got to know the place and got a feel for it. They have physical therapy. They talked about how certain kinds of therapies could be billed to the insurance company directly, so I don't have to worry about taking her somewhere or having someone come in. They did talk about the different services that are available. They have a hairdressing salon and a nail salon."

"All American Assisted Living at Raynham is just the perfect size for my husband. There's not too many residents and the location for me is good. They have an atrium where they can go out whenever they want. It's enclosed so nobody can wander away from the facility. The meals are very good. For lunch and dinner they get two choices, and they can pick what they like (I'm not usually there at breakfast time, so I'm not sure what they have for breakfast). If they don't like either one, they can get a hamburger or a hot dog, grilled cheese sandwich, or any other kind of sandwich. Everyone has been very accommodating. I go there at different times because I wanted to see how the different shifts are and how people reacted to these residents. So far, I'm very pleased. My husband is in a shared room in the memory care unit, but he has his own bedroom. Next door to him is another bedroom and then they share a common area. He just got a roommate a couple days ago and it seems to be working out fine. His room is very nice. You can bring anything you want. I brought pictures up there, but you have to supply the bed, the bureau, and furnish the whole thing. He's very well taken care of. They do his laundry twice a week and everything else for him. The CNAs really run it. They are the ones that take care of all the residents. They know all these people, and a lot of them have been there for a long time. The nurse is in a separate office, but if you need her, she comes right out always. On the assisted living side, if someone comes in with a guitar, they will take some of the people from the memory unit over there. So, they interact with each other. They have activities mostly all afternoon."

"When I toured Blaire House of Milford Assisted Living, they took me to see the assisted living, including the memory care floor, which would be perfect for my mum, but they also do self-care there. They showed me the nursing home since that would be more of what we would need. But even though they said they don't have us on the waiting list, I would have to make sure she has Medicaid and everything first, or she could be evicted when she runs out of money. The community was very nice. It was clean. The residents seemed to be kept busy. They had a lot of things they could do to stay busy. The rooms were very nice. They could have their own chair and TV in there if they wanted. My mom was in another facility in January, and between that place and here, I did notice that they are very short-staffed, which I understand is a major problem in most nursing homes and assisted living. They don't have as much staff anyways, but that was one of the reasons why they figured it didn't work for my mother, because she needs more help than what they could offer in assisted living, besides the fact that it would have to be self-pay. They told me about a lot of activities and amenities. I only saw one group going on, but they told me about the other ones they have during the week, and what the different rooms and areas are that they could go and just do what they want, like a puzzle or whatever, or read, just someplace quiet if they want to get out of their room and not do it in their room. So, I mean, it seemed like they had a lot to offer. People were in the hallway, and they seemed to be happy. The only problem I had was the short staff that they seem to have. The facility was very nice. It wasn't huge, which made it kind of cozy. It's very clean, and they had a lot of privacy for the residents. They could go in their room. I mean, they weren't single rooms, but they did have a lot for them to go. They have a lot of areas so that if they didn't want to stay in their room, they could either be by themselves or join the group or, you know, meet other residents in different areas. They seemed to make it very comfortable for them."
