"My grandparents are both in Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. It's very inclusive. The staff seems very accommodating. The accommodations are very clean, comfortable, and well-lit with nice windows. They have lots of activities, too. They have bingo, yoga, movie nights, and social hours. So, we've been pleased so far."

"It was very nice. I liked the people and the place. I was going to be sending my wife there, but she didn't want to go. The ground seemed clean and the people were nice. The room I saw was good. It was not furnished, you have to furnish it, but it was adequate, decent, and it was clean. The residents were well taken care of and it was quiet. They mentioned some activities, but my wife was unfortunately more of a just stay in the room and watch TV type of person. They work with physical therapists, which I am interested in, and they had a nurse on duty. They had laundry services and an area for watching TV. I just saw a few people sitting around because it was warmer weather that day, and they were just relaxing. All the staff that I met and the person who gave us the tour were very friendly and very cooperative."

"The Delaney at the Vale wasn't right for us, but it was a fine facility. The staff was very helpful and spent a lot of time. It really seemed ideal for a certain kind of person, but we wanted to be more urban. We are New Yorkers, and it was like a resort. It's not really what we wanted. We needed it to be closer to town, that kind of thing, but the facility itself was brand new."

"We have chosen Benchmark Senior Living at Woburn. My mom will be in assisted living. We're in the process of moving. The people are very, very friendly there. We met a couple of the residents, and they were very nice and outgoing. We liked the rooms and the staff. We didn't try the food, but we saw the menu and everything; there was quite a lot of choices, so we were happy with that. They have different activities each day. They have outings."

"My mom is at The Gables at Winchester. The residents are very accommodating and very welcoming. The staff is wonderful, and they are really top-notch. They check up on their residents every night, making sure everything is OK in their apartments. She is in a one-bedroom apartment, and it's a large room. My mother certainly found the right place. My granddaughter, who is 2 years old, loves it there too. She loves eating in the dining room. We had lunch there, and their meals are really good. My mother is on a salt-restricted diet, and they adhere to the specifications made by her physician. "

"My visit at Windsor Place of Wilmington was good. The woman who assisted me was very helpful, gave me a tour of the community and I got to see the rooms, common areas, all the events and everything that they do. The place was very neat and well-kept, and obviously very expensive as most of these places are. It's also a fairly new community. I was there to check the assisted living level, and the rooms there were apartments. The apartments had little kitchen areas, not a full kitchen, but they did have cooktops if they wanted to put something on the stove then they could. They had a game room, a movie room, a place where they do all the exercise and yoga. They had a schedule of events that take place every day, and it was a nice set up. It has a good location right off the highway. The only reason I wouldn't put this place at the top of my list is because of the location being farther from my mother and sister, but that's about it. The staff who accommodated me was very good; I would rate her a 5."

"I visited Susan Bailis. That place was to die for with a cute setup. The room was a one-bedroom with a living room. The people were very nice. The sitting area was very quaint, and it smelled good in there. It’s a fairly new place. The staff was excellent, especially the woman at the front door. They had underground parking, so visitors could stay as long as we want. I love it."

"I liked Providence House Assisted Living. It was bright, and it was accessible. There was parking there. The staff was very nice. It's very clean. I was surprised by how bright it was. It didn't feel like a nursing home. They had things for the people to participate in. They have transportation if you don't have a car to go shopping three times a week. There are studios and apartments. They have a hair salon. They were playing Wheel of Fortune. They have tons of puzzles, and they have a library. Providence House is my favorite."

"Brigham House seemed very nice and very appealing. I was looking for a short-term stay for a month or so, but they required a longer term, so it didn't fit with what I was looking for. I would've picked it. The dining area was beautiful and looked like a 5-star restaurant. They had a calendar full of things to do. It was an older school converted to an assisted living, and it's about 110 to 120 years old."

"I went to see Evans Park, and I liked this very much as well. The parking wasn’t quite as easy, but the staff was also very nice. It wasn’t quite as warm -- the people weren’t quite as warm with each other -- but everybody was very respectful, and everyone knew everybody. It’s a good place, and I would live there. It’s very beautifully appointed. They also have antique furniture, and it’s very beautiful. They had various sized rooms and apartments, and they’re willing to work with you. It was very nice that you had choices. You also can have a shared room. They did have a full schedule of activities that looked intellectually stimulating and within the reach of people who had some memory difficulties. They also had a menu that had healthy food on it. I thought it was a good program all around. I would give them a 4 because of the cost, and it’s just the cost; otherwise, it would get a 5. "

"We visited Allerton House. It was very nice. It is very easy to get to, and it is very convenient. It is not too far from Boston and not too far from the Hingham area. The shopping center is not too far from this facility, so it is very convenient. We had lunch there, and it was very adequate. There were 15 tables in the dining room, they were all full, and the staff was very efficient. The rooms were very nice. We like the rooms. We saw a two-bedroom room and a one-bedroom room, and they were both very nice. "

"Sophia Snow Place was pleasant. I had no issues with it; it just wouldn't serve my friend's purposes. It was clean, the people were friendly, and they seemed to enjoy living there. The person who I spoke with was very pleasant."

"I liked it very much, but it was kind of large for me. The people were very pleasant and it's a really nice place, but it was bigger than I thought it was going to be. They have an exercise room, a dining area, and they have places where you can sit out. It's a very tall building, about eight stories, so it's too overwhelming for me. They provide the food, and you can come when they already have the food for you."
