The Best Assisted Living Communities in Rockingham County, NH

"Emeritus was more like out in the country and it was difficult to find. I thought it was in the city. When I got there, however, I was pleasantly surprised with this place. They were far superior from what I thought they would be. It was a large and clean complex. They probably offered more activities than any other places I visited. They have transportation service, field trips, music and so on. I didn't eat there although they did have a menu in their dining room. I would recommend this facility to others! "

"Greystone Farm at Salem was a great place that felt very homey and very welcoming. The person who accommodated me was wonderful. She was very accommodating and very good. The people were all wonderful. The food was great. The room was clean. There was quite a bit of activities and lots of art. There were girls doing things like painting and games that people could play. It is a wonderful place. I liked Greystone and the people very much. The layout was nice and different and more like a home."

"My sister needed to start living on her own after her terrible automobile accident but she need some assistance. She moved to this location where she got the assistance she needed and because it has around 17 residents it is like a family atmosphere she was comfortable. They also serve home prepared foods and cook it right there in the kitchen. The cost is very reasonable. And activities are given everyday. The draw back is that they have stairs that people have to go up and down so they can only take residence that are mobal and can go up and down stairs. "

"Windham Terrace was very clean and it had a homey feel. They had both assisted living and memory care. They had a nice big cooking room where they could go and cook their own meals or the family could cook along with them. I only saw a small activity room and a library. They have a terrace, but I didn't go outside. The room was very nice and spacious. They have a kitchenette and everything is included. You don't have to pay a telephone bill, the internet, or cable TV, so that was a nice feature. The facility looked very nice and I liked that it's small. The person that runs it has been there for over 20 years, so that was good to know."

"My wife is in late-stage Alzheimer's. Her time at Benchmark/Rye was a major blessing in my life. The people I interacted with at the facility, some management and some of the people working directly with my wife, were every bit as expert and caring as I could have wanted. Their loving kindness toward my wife was exemplary. I highly recommend Benchmark/Rye because of them."

"The rooms in Ashland Farm at North Andover were very nice. Everybody was very friendly. They talked to you and they're all smiling. They didn't hesitate to show us everything (even a room that was under reconstruction). The lady even peeked in there and let us see that room and how it was coming along. We also saw the dining room, the recreation area, and the common areas. It was a very pleasant visit. We got there just as lunch was beginning. I was there with my daughter and her two little kids and the residents were smiling and waving at the kids. It was very nice. The room we saw in the memory care was a smaller version of a hotel room. It has its own bath, bed, dresser, lamp, and a room for a chair. It was very nice, clean, and bright."

"I like that Wadleigh House is small, the location is good, and that I knew some of the people already. I had to comment on the food because they were advertising it, but apparently someone moved in because the food was much better than at the other place. They have music, exercise class, and games where they speak different languages. The staff is very knowledgeable. It is very clean. I am looking forward to going there. "

"Atria Marland Place was very nice. I loved the rooms and the fact that in the memory care unit, you can get something bigger than a studio. You can get a one-bedroom and you can get an alcove, which is like a big studio apartment. It was nice to have the apartment size options in memory care. I also love the view and the big mill windows were kind of nice, too, and the high ceilings because it's a converted mill. The amount of light that the windows let in was nice. Everybody was very pleasant. It seemed like there were a lot of activities available to the clients there."

"I toured Evergreen Place. It's a small place, but it's very homey. The rooms were smaller than the other places. They are not competitive as far as I'm concerned with price, especially for a studio apartment. There's a coziness about it because they only have approximately 20 residents. There are some newer rooms, where they get together and do activities. The people working there were fine. There were residents that were making a puzzle, and there were residents that were doing some kind of artwork. They had things going on. The building looked new."

"Rosewood is an old manor, but I liked the rooms that they got to stay in, and it’s a nice place. The room available for my mom, however, was on the second floor, and the stairs were very steep. The dining room needs to be a little bit bigger. The people seemed to be crowded in, which we saw because they were eating when we were there. "

"We have found Giving Tree Senior Living for my mother-in-law. The apartments are nice and big. The cost is reasonable. They're brand new. My mother-in-law toured it, too. The staff who toured me around was very informative. Things in the apartment that we needed were taken care of. They were very willing to work with us. They have a community kitchen and if she decides she wants to make something for herself, she can go down there and use it at any time. They have a game room, working fireplaces in all the community rooms, which is very nice because if she gets chilly, she can get out and sit in front of a fireplace in the library or wherever. She's coming up from Florida, so she's kind of chilly."

"My mother has moved into Hillsbrook Village @ Allenstown. What I like best is the staff. They're very knowledgeable and caring. They take care of everything we need over there. The rooms are brand new, so they're clean, spacious, bright with good windows, and set up very well for a senior or elderly. My mother has been enjoying their food and they offer healthy options. They have several activities and my mom has been partaking in them and has been enjoying them. They have a salon, fitness center, outdoor areas, and all kinds of things."

"The best place I've visited was Bedford falls. The place was great. I didn't have any problem with it at all. The whole living environment seemed like it would be a good fit for my mother and she would be happy there. It's just that when I got to the question of what happens if she runs out of Medicaid, they told me that they would help to find another living arrangement for her at some other apartment or whatever if she can't find the money. That just didn't work for me because I didn't want to relocate her. When she moves in, I want her to stay there. "

"Bowman Place at Olde Bedford is fairly new. They have only been open for a couple of years. The prices weren't bad; they weren't really high. I really didn't see much action. There was an activity that was going to start in about a half an hour or so. They had a nice library and a nice dining area. It was not steep like the other two places. The rooms seemed to be a good size."
