My friend has already moved into Evergreen Place. She has been there now for a couple of weeks and she's very happy. The atmosphere is a very family atmosphere, very friendly, very accommodating, very affordable housing, very clean, and just a lovely place. The staffers were so accommodating. They wanted to make my friend comfortable and meet her needs. I was very pleased about that. I've spoken with my friend about their food several times, and she's very happy with the food and the place. And she's not all that easy to please, so I'm delighted. It's an old building, but it has been updated beautifully. It's very clean and beautifully decorated. All the rooms do not have private bathrooms, but my friend was lucky enough to be able to get a room with a private bathroom. It doesn't have a shower, only a private bathroom. One of the downsides of it is that the rooms do not allow them to have their own cooking facilities. There's a small refrigerator or a microwave like some assisted living facilities offer. But there is a refrigerator right around the corner that's available to everybody. If they want to store some things, they're welcome to use that, and they supply snacks for the residents, too. So it's working for my friend. I haven't personally sat in on an activity, but I was told about a number of the activities, and my friend has told me about the activities that she's participated in. I think she's getting what she is paying for. The rooms aren't huge by any means, but it's enough space. It probably could be bigger, but it's more than adequate.

My mother has moved into Evergreen Place. It was recommended to me by a professional and they go from private pay to Medicaid, so she wouldn't have to go to another care place, also because it's a nonprofit. It's not a corporation, and it's small. Her apartment is very nice, very comfy, and big. She has her own bathroom. The place is spotless. They provide medication management, and they have 24-hour nursing staff. They provide meals three times a day. There's a hairdresser. The staff is very helpful, very kind, and welcoming. They're awesome.

I toured Evergreen Place. It's a small place, but it's very homey. The rooms were smaller than the other places. They are not competitive as far as I'm concerned with price, especially for a studio apartment. There's a coziness about it because they only have approximately 20 residents. There are some newer rooms, where they get together and do activities. The people working there were fine. There were residents that were making a puzzle, and there were residents that were doing some kind of artwork. They had things going on. The building looked new.

Evergreen Place was nice. The attitude of the staff was beyond compare. They care about their residents. They spent a lot of time with them and there's a lot of activities going on all the time. The residents have a tremendous social life and it was just a one hundred percent beautiful place. They have a beauty parlor and all sorts of amenities. Their dining room was spacious, too.

Evergreen Place has been excellent. It's very homey. The staff is very attentive to all the needs. It's been a perfect fit for my father. He has one of the larger rooms with a living room, a bedroom and a full bath. He could've had a single bedroom with just a bathroom. They have movies, arts and crafts, trips, men's luncheon, ladies' luncheon, they go to Wal-Mart and to The Dollar Store, they have entertainment, weekly barbecues in the summertime outside under a big tent. They will also take you to your doctors' appointments as long as they're in Manchester. They order and distribute all the medicine, and they do housekeeping and laundry. However, rooms at other places that cost the same amount of money have kitchens in them, and this one doesn't have a kitchen. They should just be a little bit less money because of that.

Evergreen Place was the best home for my mother after she had a stroke. The facility is immaculately clean, warm and welcoming. The staff looks forward to going to work every day (and that shows!). Every time I visited, which was about once a week, one of the staff members or residents would share with me exactly where I would find her, whether it was on the second floor front porch, at one of the many tables set up with a jigsaw puzzle in the works or in the activity room playing nickels bingo. And there are fun and interesting activities 7 days a week! All of the meals are made at Evergreen from scratch with 5 choices for dinner every day, and they are presented in an appealing way. The administration and staff care that the residents know that this is their home, not just some place that their relatives have "dumped them". My mother happily lived there for a year and a half. She's been gone for over a year but we, too, are part of the family and are always welcome to visit at any time.

Evergreen Place was very nice facility. You shared a bathroom in the apartments, and that's not desirable for me. The facility was fine, and the rooms are certainly spacious enough. It's not a new facility -- it's been there a while -- but they have done a very good job of keeping it up. They have the basic retirement activity room, and they do cards and take people around downtown Manchester, so it's very nice.
