I have chosen Kirkwood Corners of Lee for respite care for mom. It's not a permanent move-in; she will be there for thirty days. It's a nice, small community, and it's a very clean building. I found that the people who work there are very easy to work with and accommodating. It was a very pleasant place. It's a nice-sized room, and it's certainly not small. It's nice, and it came with the furnishings that were needed: a bed, a chair, and a dresser. The only thing I would find fault with -- and it's not their fault -- is the way the building is arranged. The rooms don't have a private bathroom, but there are certainly many bathrooms available. In the summer, they have outside activities. They also do some bus trips. It seemed like a good level of activities for the type of people they were dealing with. I saw a couple of community rooms. I did not see anything that has to do with exercise, like a pool or anything. This is totally memory care, so I don't believe they had that, but they certainly had several gathering places. They had many books available, almost like a library. They had TVs and movies. They definitely had activities. There's a code that is published at the door. You have to push the code to get in and out, so it's not a locked facility, but if you do not push the code, an alarm goes off, so they are alerted if someone just tries to go out. It's a very pleasant place and in thirty years, I wouldn't mind being there myself.

Kirkwood Corners is very home-like and not institutional. They have quite a number of different programs, and they're well-staffed. Being an old farmhouse, the rooms are all different sizes, but they're very clean, and tastefully decorated. The residents are also permitted to bring their own belongings if they choose to. The staff members are very friendly and open. They seem to take very close interest in the residents. They serve three meals a day, and they have snacks available. The place is very nice and very clean. The staff members are very open, and they welcome me whenever I want to come. Once my husband is there, I can go and visit him any time of the day.

The staff at Kirkwood is wonderfully caring. Caring for both their residents and families. It was a difficult decision to make when it became obvious that my mother could no longer safely care for herself. The staff at Kirkwood guided me thru the process of acceptance, letting go and then participating in my mothers daily life minus the worry and tasks we both had while she was in her former situation. It is a joy to see mom so happy and content. The facility is homey; a country home setting. Not a sterile brick and mortar building. We are so lucky that my mother is in their care.

Kirkwood Corners is an amazing assisted living facility! It is in a beautiful setting, very comfortable, and feels like home. My grandmother loves being at Kirkwoods, and enjoys all of the activities, outings, the caring staff, and all of the events. Everyone is friendly, and they truly know and understand their residents. We could not ask for any place better for her to live!

We went with Kirkwood Corners Senior Living because I loved it. It felt like a house, and that was what I was looking for -- something that was homey. The staff was very up and very involved with the patients. There were a lot of things going on. They have this activity book, and they go through its pages. They do different things on different days from playing bingo, talking about actors, or Who Can Name This. They have a walking path outside that?s like a miniature track and in the middle of it are lawn chairs, and people can set a barbeque. It met what I wanted and more.

Kirkwood Corners was a nice place. It was a nice tour. They fixed it up more than once, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. The staff was nice. If residents want to mingle, they can. It would be a good assisted living, but it’s a small place. Some of the residents were not very happy people. They had a salon, activities, a big activity room, and a big living room where you can go in and watch movies. One or two nights a week, they’ll had some sort of entertainment going on in that area, so it's nice.

Kirkwood Corners was like an old farmhouse and not appropriate for my mom. It was for assisted living and memory care, but it seemed like the residents needed more care than assisted living. The staff was very nice, though. It was crowded, and the rooms were small.

Kirkwood is a nice country home, but it’s more like a facility, and the people there were a lot more sick than my dad. He would have a hard time socializing. The staff seemed very caring and helpful. They only have shared rooms available when I toured the place.

I went to Kirkwood Corners, and I visited them a year ago. The woman who gave the tour was really friendly. She had been there a long time, and it looked like everybody knew her. It was a small place, and it was a mixed community. They had people in different stages of dementia. I only saw the private rooms, and they looked very personalized and clean. It looked like a nice place. They were playing trivia. They had a placed where they had puzzles set up. The dining room was personalized. It looked like they were paying attention to the people, so it was good.
