The facility was kept clean, although at one point my grandmother's stuffed animal went missing. However, the social worker assigned to my grandmother was more than willing to track it down for her. All in all, it was a nice place for her to stay in even though I wish the nurses would react to the patients' needs a little more quickly. "

"Scarborough Terrace was a lovely place for people with memory issues, and it seemed well taken care of. The staff was lovely. The layout was just a little confusing because you had to go upstairs, downstairs, and take elevators to get around. The person who showed me around was informative, been there for years, and was a pleasure to deal with. Parking was totally adequate."

"Berwick Estates is a very old facility. At first, we were a little concernws because when my mother-in-law was admitted when it was very cold. But the facility has been more than adequate. The staff is just wonderful and very nice. My mother-in-law says the food is good. The residents seem quite happy there. They have lots of activities and the activity director is really wonderful. They play bingo, sing hymns, play all kinds of memory games, movies and popcorn. They're very busy and the place seem really pleasant. She is adjusting well and she likes it. Her family is happy that she's nearby. I find her room too small. It's a major concern to me, but it's adequate. "

"My brother has moved into the Inn at Village Square. We like it very much. It's only like 32 rooms, so it's small. The staff is very good with the residents. They have good coverage. The administrator is good. She knows what she's doing. The nursing staff is very attentive. My brother loves the food. The accommodations are very clean. They're very good as far as their interactions with their residents. They have activities all the time and we're invited, his family, regularly. All the residents seem very happy. They seem to take good care of them. The nursing staff is very competent. The facility itself is very clean and well-maintained. They are easy to deal with. If you ask them questions, they're really quick to give you an answer. There are no delays. Everything is good. I have no complaints. We've had several meals there and all were good. They have a very good selection of food. I have no complaints. My brother has put on like 7 pounds, which probably isn't a good thing, but it's an indication of what he thinks of the food. They're busy every day. They usually have two or three activities a day, and you get to pick and choose what you want to do. They're not just activities, but they're good activities. It is expensive. I think it's $7300 a month, but I don't know how that compares to other assisted living as far as pricing goes. He's getting his money's worth and that's probably why he gets such good care, because they can afford to keep good staff and it makes a difference. They're doing a good job taking care of my brother."

"My mother-in-law was in Springbrook Center for rehab and I got a frantic call that she was unresponsive and rushed to the hospital and that she had almost died. She had fallen there and nobody told us. It's not recorded in her medical notes. We had a horrible experience there. Her room was sparse, but it was clean. When you walked into the facility, it smelled like urine and like a toilet. She had a private room and her own bathroom, and it was very nice. We had one nurse's aide that was very good. She was always in her room by herself and she watched television in her room by herself. It looked to me like they had not done much maintenance. They just clean it and that's it. It's in need of some help."

"My father was at Stroudwater Lodge. It was a great place for him. I just wish he could have stayed longer to enjoy it. It was an amazing place. I would have stayed there myself. They just had so many amenities, like the restaurant, the type of food in there, a social lounge, and a movie theater. They just had so many things to do for them every day. If he called for them, they would be right there. They did things for him that weren't asked and stuff that was not expected of them to do. They just helped me out amazingly. The place was amazing. They call it The Lodge because it looked like a ski lodge. You walked in, and there's a big grand entrance and restaurants there. There were people actually walking around with smiles on their faces, so it looked like they enjoyed themselves being there. I can't say more; I just wish my father would have enjoyed it himself. They listed the activities on the boards every morning or posted it right there on front. Because of COVID, we couldn't eat there. They couldn't do that stuff. Before they said yes, you could come in and eat with him and stuff. I would have loved to do that, but the food that they brought my father was amazing. It was like a restaurant. You get to pick a couple of choices, and it was good stuff."

"My husband was at Avita of Stroudwater for the last year of his life. Every time I visited, I saw that the entire staff was very patient, caring and respectful of his needs. As we watched his decline, he was never afraid or unhappy at Avita. I really appreciated how well and how often the staff, and specifically the medical staff, communicated with us. When it was time for Hospice to become involved, the staff at Avita and the Hospice staff worked in a very coordinated manner. They made a difficult year as easy for all of us as possible. A huge Thank-you to the entire staff at Avita."

"We have selected Studley Home for my dad. It is small, it is close to where he was living, and it is clean. It is an older building with an addition on it, but it seems very homey. I have eaten with him twice and I thought the food was excellent. Everything is home-cooked. They have bible study, movies, games, and crafts. Someone comes in and plays the piano for them. They have exercise classes and coffee hour every morning where they gather in the great room and have coffee and chat. Their price is competitive."
