Wardwell Retirement had old and new sections. It was comfortable and definitely more of a community in and about the common areas. There were people making puzzles, playing Bingo, reading, and socializing. My mother knew people at this location, so it scored the highest from a location perspective. The drawback was the rooms were smaller and did not have a small kitchen facility available to the residents. The staff was very good and could administer medications, but they didn't have the progression to memory or nursing home; they were strictly assisted living. It was the least expensive place we saw.

Wardwell Retirement is very friendly. They provided the type of care that my friend needed. The rooms are beautiful. He came from a small apartment in New York, and his apartment is exactly the right size for him and not overwhelming. They have everything from exercise to entertainment, they go out for meals, and they have memory games.
