I like that it is conveniently located to our home and it is more of a homey setting than a nursing home. My mom is in the memory care and the sit down dinners are done together. They have family areas where you can throw birthday parties, so they're very family oriented. We haven't met many of the staff yet, but they've always been great when we've gone there. They've helped us see where her location is, or helped us find her things, and get her dressed, because we bring her out a lot. They've always been good at returning our phone calls and letting us know immediately if something happened to her. So, they're very good with keeping the communication open. They have an entire calendar that they put out at the front office as you walk in, and we get one emailed every month, too. They do bingo, have the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts come in, do a lot of animal therapy, and do a lot of holidays or events that are geared towards it. They let the families know so that the families are able to come whenever and can join in. They also have a little courtyard that you can go out on and a grill area with seating where they can do barbecues and other stuff.

- Special Comment: At The Landing at Saco Bay, ThriveCare® is both our lifestyle and our therapy program. This unique holistic program of nurturing care is offered to every resident and is specifically called Thrive because we believe that, within the context of the disease they are living with, there is no reason we can’t still make every day as meaningful and joyous as possible. In other words, we help our residents thrive physically and mentally by supporting them in every way.

These folks should be reported for neglect. My grandmother was there for days with a broken hip and no one called, or did anything. Every visit, she's in soiled clothing, with dirty laundry everywhere. Staff spend more time on their phones than caring for the residents. If you love your family member, DO NOT put them here.
