"Wingate at Haverhill seemed clean and appeared to be well maintained. It seemed like the people were well cared for. The staff seemed upbeat like they enjoyed working there. Most of the people there are under Medicare. "

"My husband was at Oceanside Center when he passed. The nursing staff was wonderful, they were very caring. Our experience was very good. They kept him very clean, and at the time I went there, they were kinda doting over him and that made me feel good. When he first went in there, he didn't want to eat their food and demanded a peanut butter sandwich or grilled cheese sandwich, and the kitchen catered to his needs. They went above and beyond to make sure that he would eat and that he got what he wants. He progressed very quickly, and up until he was at the end stages of life, they catered to his every whim. I can't say enough, he was a handful but they were awesome and caring, and took very good care of him."

"My father was a patient at this facility from april 2010 until his passing on July 15,1011. He was originally thought to have a rapid onset dementia but was soon found to have a rare degenerative brain disease. During his stay he declined rapidly and in the end stages of his disease he was bedridden and completely non-responsive. The care that he received at this facility was above and beyond what I had expected from a skilled nursing facility. He was cared for by mostly CNA's and they demonstrated compassion and preserved his dignity in as many ways as they could. They were forthcoming with any information that I asked. His medications were well controlled. The facility was always clean. The dining area was lovely, and when he had to be fed in his room the staff was so patient, never rushing him. I only have two somewhat negative comments, the food was rather bleak and the air cnditioning never functioned well but I hear those issues have been addressed . I just recommended this facility to a friend. The day that my father passed, we were given all the time that we needed and were surrounded by caring and concern. If a loved one has to be in a facility, this is the one to choose. "

"Adviniacare Newburyport was awful. I had surgery about three years ago and I went there. It was terrific. The people that worked at the place were terrific. The food was excellent and I had great care. When I got sick the second time, I chose the same place, but a new company bought them. It's just awful. Once I got my rehab and a day or two before I was able be discharged, they gave me permission that I could walk with my walker out in the corridor. When you walked by the nurse's station or the hallway, nobody would even speak to you. I've never seen such a place. The food was awful. I lost 30 some pounds from the time I had the surgery. I'll never go back to it. It's not. They need to have more help. For instance, the aide that I was assigned to get me cleaned up in the morning would come in and drop me the towel and a clean nightgown and leave, so I was on my own. I never had my bed changed. The other thing that really disturbed me while I was there, they had three patients who were very sick with COVID and I got COVID. I was out in the corridors walking up and down to get my exercise like I was supposed to. Nobody bothered to tell me there were three patients on the floor that had COVID. I never knew about it until I got it myself. I said, "Are there people here that's got COVID?" They said, "Yes, we got three, one is very, very sick." I had to be there for nearly an extra week because of it. The staff was poor. You put on your light to get help to go to the bathroom, and an hour later you were still waiting. A lot of times I couldn't eat their food. There was nothing wrong with the place. It's not the place, it's the help, the people they got in there taking care of the patients. Nobody ever spoke to me about activities. The people from physical therapy were great. I had the same girl every time and she was terrific. I was in a shared room, but my neighbor was not here. I was there for close to two weeks and I had the room alone, which was nice to me."

"My mother is a patient at Penacook Place in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Penacook is an independent, not-for-profit, 160-bed nursing home and rehabilitation facility that strives to offer the finest care and best quality of life for its residents. My mother's dementia has progressed to a point where she is very out of touch with reality, unable to carry on a conversation, not aware of who her children are most of the time. She is unable to walk, eat by herself, or get from her bed to the wheelchair without a hoist. It is very difficult to see your parent in this state. Penacook places brings comfort to my Mom as well as we, her children. The nurses and aides are always there for Mom, providing the usual care plus more, a loving touch. Penacook provides daily activities, and brings in musicians for extra entertainment. Though my Mom is unable to partake in much of this, I believe she enjoys being in such an atmosphere. I live 3,000 miles away from my Mom, which is very difficult, but knowing that she is being cared for by the Penacook staff brings some relief to my worrying about her. My brother and sister live near Penacook and visit her daily. I have had Lyme disease for many years and am not well enough to relocate back east. I spend every day with my Mom when I visit her, during which time I have developed relationships with the wonderful caregivers at Penacook. "

"I can say that I was very pleased with the treatment and care my mom got @ baker Katz. She was treated as part of a large family. I would recommend this facility to any one . When you walk in it is not the best looking place as a chain nursing home is but the care the staff gave my mom makes up for it in a big way. She was a difficult patient but they gave her great care. Always clean,fussy eater and made every effort to try to make and give her foods that she would eat. Highly recommend this place. "

"At Derry Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Staff was very accommodating to the needs of their residents both people who came in for rehab or if you lived there. Always Encourages you with supportive kind words to help get you going with your rehab, even when you weren't feeling your best. LNA's , Nursing, front desk, Management, Social Services, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Office support, Activities Director - stopped by daily to communicate with you. Great outside deck area to enjoy the "Sunshine" - I really enjoyed the Cook-outs. Made you feel like you were home. I would highly recommend them!"

"My mother moved into Webster at Rye. The professionalism and the caliber of the employees and nursing staff were amazing. She's getting really good care. She's having some difficulties, and she never really likes anything. But she said that she likes it, due to the facility, and the people there are nice. The facility was excellent. They have all kinds of classes. They have live entertainment every night or every afternoon at about five. They have animals, and they bring animals there. They do some outings. It seems like they have plenty of activities. I have eaten there. I had lunch one time, and that was good. Her level of care is kind of expensive. It just seems like everything is in place there. I don't know a lot of the amenities, but I know they have a library."

"My Mother was a resident of Pleasant Valley Nursing Center. She unfortunately had CA and the staff were so kind and caring. She had a favorite nurse she called Princess. I will never forget her impact on a dying women who was proud and hated to ask for help. I will always be grateful for Princess and how she and the LNA's made my Mother's last months and days feel like her family. She would tell me how "wonderful" they were to her. I was a family member who realized nothing is perfect, and neither is it in your own home where you might take care of your own family member. Thank you Princess! "

"Everything's very nice at Salemhaven. The people were very nice. The building was nice. The facility was nice. The only lousy thing was parking wasn't big enough. Other than that, it had a fancy dining room, nice rooms, a nice foyer, and security. I didn't meet as many people in that one as I did in the other place, but the ones that I did were very friendly and very helpful when I ask questions. They were very nice to say, "If you don't need it now, keep us in mind when you do." The room I saw was a little smaller, but it was nice. It had a kitchenette, but it didn't have a stove or anything."

"My aunt is currently in rehab at Warde Assisted Living. The place is very good, the staff and therapists are very helpful and she's got a pretty good experience so far. They've been very friendly and she's enjoying her time there. She's on a liquid diet for most of her stay in this facility. I saw that they also had a hair salon. She had a fair-sized bedroom. It was a private room. They do a very good job of housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance. They're doing what she needs. The hospital is about 12-15 minutes from there so it's close, there are restaurants within a mile, a church just down the street, and a shopping center a couple of miles too."
