"The facilities are pretty, but old. The building smells musty and the floors are uneven and dangerous for tripping. The food wasn't the best but better than what my high school served. The staff was friendly, even when they were working on Christmas. It is attached to a nursing home which is newer, but the activities aren't as good down there. My grandmother lived in the nursing home part for a bit after surgury and was very glad to get back up to assisted living. That might be because she is more lucid than most of the other residents downstairs though. "

"Havenwood-Heritage Heights has a wonderful reputation. They've been in existence over 30 years, so I'm familiar with it. I even have friends who are there right now. The staff was very professional. They do have various kinds of activities for different level of people. There is a variety of rooms, 2-bedroom, some with garages, basement, they have cottages, some are detached, or apartment style. It's very clean and very nice. "

"My dad was in Pleasant View Center for a while. He was in the rehab, but we would go see the nursing home part for different things because it’s all one unit. I thought they were very good about his care. They got him rehabilitated; his therapists were great. I did have a concern with them sometimes leaving him for long periods of time. I would come in and find him tangled up in the sheets, and the bed was wet and it had been a while. I know they’re understaffed; they have 50 rooms to do in an hour. It’s the staffing part, but as far as the professional part and what he needed for his therapies, that was 100%. "

"This is easily the better of the care centers in Concord when it comes to elders. There is a more intensive, more luxurious center located directly in the Concord Hospital parking lot but it was far too intense for my 87 yr old MIL. We had her moved to HH, where they made her feel at home in a private room as she has dementia and would have disturbed a roommate. There is almost always a waiting list. That was frustrating but befits the fact that is is a better center than most. The usual problems of overstretched nursing assistants and the lack of an RN on duty at all times was one of my reasons for distracting a star. I admire the LPNs but really feel an RN should be there. They are better than average about changing underwear and keeping the rooms really clean. Mom was getting so comfortable there it would have been a thought to go ahead and let her stay if they had the same conditions up on the permanent stay floor as downstairs. Someone needs to understand that unless it's a couple in a room together, then permanent stay needs to be all single rooms, even if they must be tiny. People deserve the dignity of their own space, their own bathroom/shower area. The other reason I removed a star was the food. I brought Mom most of her food because the food was a big pool of grease, and nothing there would fit a low fat lifestyle to any measure. But again, that is unfortunately typical. I'd say if you are looking for short term rehab for an elder, there is really no place better locally. If you are looking for long term..well it's really up to your elder if they want to share a room. Perhaps s/he will. If so, the care is great if the food isn't :) "

"I volunteer as a visitor. I am there several times a month. I see this facility as a palace of sorts, where the resident is king and queen. The comfort level is high, and the staff provides a personal feeling with everyone. Even volunteers. To the top dog down to the part time facilities; everyone gets involved with the residents to one extent. From short conversations in the hall to getting residents to an event via elevator. This place even has cocktail hour twice a week for residents. This is a facility that promotes wellness for everyone including staff. Residents can grow vegetables in their rooms, family can bring pets. Performance acts are frequently invited to come and entertain, but somehow bingo gets center stage all the time. When they have quarantines, everyone takes it seriously; since people can die. The head nurse has the power to allow access or not. Great care is taken to ensure the health and well being of the residents at the Merrimack County Nursing Home. "

"We chose Peabody Home because I think their facility was a good fit for my father, and it was close to where we lived. It's in a small town. There are some restaurants and shopping there, but it's not in the city. The staff have been great. They are very attentive to my father's needs and our needs. He has a single room. It's large and bright with big windows that overlook the river. There was a nice community room. People are friendly. The other residents were also friendly. They have games. It was a good place to be. In memory care, their activities are more on puzzles and games like that. As far as amenities, there is just a courtyard, a little walking area, and a sitting area. There's a restaurant on the campus. There are places for haircuts, like a barbershop. There's PT and OT. It was a new facility. It was just built a few years ago so it's clean and updated. Being in the memory care, they kept them as busy as they could."

"I toured this place on a late afternoon. Staffing was scarce. Patients looked unkept and the overall vibe was poor. I could over hear staff complaining about how “short staffed” they were ... and it was visually dirty."

"My Mom was at this facility and they took great care of her. All the staff went out of their way to make her comfortable and to make sure her needs were being met. The staff are very active and involved with all the people living there and the administration is very visible. From first hand experience I highly recommend.. "

"Mom had been at St. Francis Rehab and Nursing Center when she had a stroke. The staff were very attentive and they were in her room every hour making sure that she is okay. But then mom didn’t need so much attention and she would be disturbed by the staff coming in almost every hour of the night thus she can't sleep well. I wish they would have a separate room for the residents who doesn’t need to be watched every hour for them to be able to sleep soundly through the night. I like their activities and the dining room. They have a nice big bathroom and I really feel like they did get a lot of attention as far as making sure that they were taken care of. "

"I have a family member who is located in the Alzheimer's Department here at this nursing home. Although I am personally not comfortable with having her at the facility everybody seems very caring, friendly and involved with their patients. One thing I did notice as I visit more and more is that a lot of the LNA'S and nurses know all of the patient's name which is very nice to see. Although I am not there everyday so I don't know everything that takes place but I would appreciate it if more and more people would write reviews "

"Genesis Healthcare seem to be taking very good care of my dad like making sure he gets his medications on time. They've been helping him get into bed, and since he can't put any weight on his legs, they've been helping him move around. He doesn't like the food. It smells good, but he is picky, so that could have a lot to do with it. They play cards, board games, and Bingo, and they do church services. The nurses and the nurses' aides -- all the staff -- seem very friendly and helpful, and I like the rooms; they are very nice. "

"I went to Belknap County Nursing Home. I think it's a great place. The facility has two courtyards with rooms circling each of those courtyards. There's a large activity area, and their staff seem to be very well trained. The rooms have two people in them. It's a long room, and they're nice and big. The dining area is very nice, and it's divided into different pods, so people can sit in groups."

"Courville provided a very pleasant experience for my Mother in Law who was staying there and they went well beyond expectations to accommodate the family visiting. For her Birthday, they set us up with a private lounge room and we had 20+ guests. I never saw anything that was unsanitary. They have some TV's in nice rooms for their residents. My only complaint was that at times they were short staffed, which caused a long wait for assistance. Not very good when someone needed assistance to the restroom. "

"My friend is in Mount Carmel. It is clean. It is well kept up. The staff is friendly. It seems to be a nice place, and the care she is getting seems to be fairly good by her standards as well as mine. She goes to movies and bingo game. I will recommend them highly. "

"My dad is at Maple Leaf Health Care Center. We haven't been able to go and see him, so I don't know how he's doing, but I can tell that he is clean. I saw his fingernails were clean, he was neat looking, and his hair was combed. We saw him six feet apart and he was sitting on a wheelchair, so I didn't see him walk. I'm a nurse, so I was looking for how he was walking, how they transferred him, and that kind of stuff. They've been very nice, very cooperative, and trying to keep us updated. The facility is clean, but it's an old building, and kind of rundown a little bit. They don't have really nice outdoor facilities either. My dad used to look out in the yard and see his birds and stuff, and there's none of that there. It's just sort of in the middle of a city, but the people were very nice. COVID made it all difficult, but I think they're doing the best they can."

"Saint Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has a homey feeling. It didn't look like a hospital. It looked like a home. The facility is very clean. The staff was very informative and very nice. It is owned by Catholic Charities, and they have five different locations. They had two different dining rooms, and they were very nice. They had a beauty salon, a library, and an outdoor area, which was very nice with bird feeders, picnic tables, and umbrellas. They have PT for exercise."

"Overall, we were very impressed with this facility. Every aspect of the experience for our in-patient family member exceeded our expectations, and we were able to have genuine peace of mind that her needs were being met while there. At the same time, we were able to call at any time if necessary and our questions and concerns were answered promptly and confidently with reasonable details, while also respecting and maintaining our family member's privacy and dignity. Some highlights of her stay included the following. The nursing staff exuded empathy, caring and a professional standard of care. The physical and occupational therapists assigned to her rehab were outstanding in their knowledge and their ability to assess and plan for our family member's successful progress in regaining mobility after her injury. The food service was a very pleasant surprise and very impressive to us and to our family member. In particular, she praised the quality, quantity and selections of foods available to her. We recall fresh-baked breads and pastries, and on one visit, prime rib as a dinner entree. All the staff at this facility created a warm and welcoming environment for both patients and their families. Even the front desk receptionist helped to reassure us that our family member was in good hands. Finally, the interior and exterior of the facility were very clean and attractive. Our family member and her son lost spouse/father to Alzheimers, and he was cared for in another facility in an adjacent town. After our family member's experience at Hanover Hill, they both wished that the now-deceased spouse/father had been cared for at Hanover Hill. Additionally, our family member now has insisted that if in the future she requires permanent nursing home care, she will make every effort to request admission to Hanover Hill. We all genuinely highly recommend this nursing home. "

"My father doesn't like the food at Bedford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, but he's at a low-sodium diet so he's not going to like any food. The staff that I have dealt with there is very communicative. They answer phone calls, they answer our questions, and we do bi-weekly updates on his progress. They had to move him into a shared room because all the nursing facilities at New Hampshire were required to set aside all the single rooms for COVID patients if the hospitals would meet an overflow. The building is old and looks it, but it's really clean."

"I always thought a nursing home was a place where people went to die but for my mom Villa Crest is where she went to live! On Valentine’s Day 2020 my stepdad and the love of my mother’s life past away suddenly . Over the next 3 years my mom had sunken into a deep depression and my siblings and I thought she was in the last year of her life . She was sent to Villa Crest for rehab and after 4 days I told my sister we couldn’t give up her bed because the care there is far and above any other rehab she had previously been in the staff is positive and loving and they have so many wonderful activities my mom LOVES it there and she is thriving I highly recommend Villa Crest to anyone seeking a fabulous place for loved ones "
