"My brother-in-law is already in Thompson House. The staff that I met all seemed very well qualified, very kind, and very nice. It’s certainly clean. My brother-in-law is doing far better since he’s been there, so he seems to be well cared for. He’s obviously getting better nutrition, and better meds management than he had at home. So, he’s looking better and sounding clearer. He does have some dementia so he can be bad. He clearly sounds more lucid, and clearer since he’s been there; so I think he’s being well cared for. It looks more institutional. It does not look like a home at all. On the other hand, everybody seems kind, responsive, well-qualified, and the care is very good. So far, I’m very happy with it. "

"Vernon Green had the most compassionate staff I have seen. I, unfortunately, had to have my grandfather placed in a facility for the last few weeks of his life. I felt extremely guilty because I had promised him I would never do this. His doctor and I decided this was the right route to take to re-evaluate his medications and hopefully get him on the right track. This ended up being the wrong decision as he passed away a couple weeks later. The staff was extraordinary. The facility is extremely clean and people take their jobs seriously -- from the housekeepers to the kitchen staff to the janitors to the executives etc. There are several activities for participants to take part of and enjoy. There are three different levels at the facility -- assisted living, the Alzheimer's unit and the general nursing home area. "

"I rated this home a 3 because there was some good and some not so good areas in this home. As soon as I entered the home, the first thing I saw as I walked down the halls was some elderly residents just sitting in wheelchairs outside their room, some beds along the corridor, it felt too much like a sterile hospital to me rather than a "home". There was a big kitchen and the food did look nourishing and tasty. I saw an activity center that seemed like it had some fun activities for the residents there, those that wanted to participate anyway. The personnel seemed very friendly and helpful. There was an emergency there while I was there and the response was very quick. I didn't seen any residents sitting around needing/wanting help with no response from the personnel.All in all, I thought this was a decent place for residents, but I do think it could use a facelift. I think it could be made to be more "homey" by adding warm colors on the windows, blankets, things like that. I just thought it was too "white" and sterile looking. If I were looking to place someone in my family in a facility like this, I think I would do more researching after touring this place...somewhere that's not so "hospital-like". "

"My husband was in Grace Cottage Rehabilitation Services. It was great. The care was wonderful. The staff was great. The food was good. My husband had physical therapy and occupational therapy. The place was lovely. It was clean. The people were compassionate and they were very good."

"The staff is really incredible there. They foster an inclusive, safe, and interactive environment for the residents, and I feel that they genuinely care for the patients. The facility is clean and organized, and it seems to be a really tight ship. The patients mostly seem to be happy, and those who are able are encouraged to be social. Patient inactivity is average for a nursing home, but I feel that if a patient is able to engage in interactive activities they are encouraged to do so. I sometimes feel a sense of college dorm at the facility, not in any of the bad ways, but in the way that they attempt to build community through social events and the diversity of activity areas throughout the home. It is an excellent facility with a dedicated staff that is an asset to the local community. Of each of the horror stories I hear about nursing homes in the media, I cannot imagine any sort of that instance happening here. The facility is second to none, and the excellent staff complements it. "

"My wife is at Poet's Seat Health Care Center. She still needs assistance with walking, sitting, and standing, but she's improving, she's not agitated, and she's cooperative. I like the staff. I'm pleased. I have not been able to see the rooms because of COVID. I visited her once, and it was in a common area. They don't let you in to the rooms. She's working with PT and with the social worker. She certainly needs nursing care assistance and care with toileting. They have some activities, but she's very limited in what she can do."

"My experience with the Farren Care Center in Turners Falls, MA was a good one. I found the nursing staff to be caring and compassionate and most importantly they were very patient with my loved one. This is a long term care facility for people who have a medical diagnosis as well as a psychological diagnosis, so the patients are often difficult and they are always testing boundaries. I think it's important for the nursing staff to maintain the set boundaries, but they find a caring and cheerful way to redirect their residents. Residents follow a relatively tight schedule (which serves this facility well) and they are paired up with aides and nurses that are familiar with their requirements for care and who become their friends and family over time. It's important to say that this is a charitable facility and many of the residents have no family or friends come to visit them. The Farren provides a large family for people who were given up on years ago. "

"We are happy with Charlene Manor where my mother is. It’s a very nice place. It is clean and attractive. The staff is excellent, very nice, helpful, and attentive. My mother hates the food, and I think it could be better. I wish they had more activities. She is in a locked ward. "

"My best buddy, friend, colleaque and mentor was admitted for observation, assessment and rehabilitation after given a difficult diagnosis of "Lewy bodies' dementia in 2018. Buckley-Greenfield Healthcare has provided a home away from home for my beloved friend. They offer meaningful activities both in house and into the community and go above and beyond to work with family members, friends and other contracted Hospice and palliative care workers from the community They take their time to get to know each resident and meet them where they are at emotionally and physically. They have an excellent admissions Director "Bonnie" and a social worker on staff by the name of Sarah. They have pulled through this pandemic with a staffing shortage and many obstacles , always prioratizing the needs of their patients. The facility has done an excellent job following CDC protocals to keep their patients and staffing safe. This is no minor task. This facility has an excellent activities director who is concerned with the patients spiritual well being and goes above and beyond to make sure the residents have activities specific to whom they are. The facility has a great room for inside visitation and a large Patio outside for Visitation. They allow support animals to visit the patients on a weekly basis. They are responsive to the needs of their patience and visitor feedback. The front desk/ receptionist are great. I see a lot of team work all for the good of their patients. There are four floors. I have given this facility a 4 star rating only because the facility would benefit from a facility up-grade and remodel of the patient floors and rooms. The first floor is a good example of what the entire facility should look like. I commend this facility on pulling through a very difficult time in history! "My grandmother is a resident at Sullivan County Nursing Home in Claremont, NH. The facility has 3 floors or units and residents are situated based on the level of care they need. Most of the staff that I have met have been very pleasant and helpful and have made my grandma feel welcome. Sullivan County has many activities for the residents to participate in such as game night, dances and even cooking classes. The only thing that I find odd and it makes myself and my grandmother a bit uncomfortable, is that the home is connected to the county jail. Inmates from the jail help cook in the kitchen and wash the laundry for the residents of the home. Some of the inmates are not very pleasant and although they are forbidden to interact with the residents, they do not always follow the rules. Overall Sullivan County Nursing Home meets the needs and expectations of most residents, but it does have a unique set up. "

"My mom was at Wachussett for a year and a half. I recommend this facilty to anyone who wants great care for their loved ones. The staff is amazing from the nurses, activity aides, and cnas. They have a great housekeeping staff . The food and menu are very good as well. I can't say enough how happy we were with her all around care there. It really felt like family there for my mom and ourselves. Thank you to everyone at Wachussett."
