"I really liked Sunrise Assited living. My grandmother was a resident there for over 4 years in their Memory Care wing. My grandmother was suffering from demntia and the staff at sunrise helped us through every level of her care from the very beginning to the end. The took wonderful care of my grandmaother but they also took wonderful care of us. They were attentive to our questions and concerns and took the time to explain the ins and outs of her diease. The facilities were always clean and welcoming and they invited personal touches to their patients rooms to make them and us feel more at home. They hosted special events through out the year and durign holiday and invited the families to particiipate with their loved ones in these activities. They were also extrememly responsible. Always makeing sure to call if anything out of the ordinary happened. Such as a bad night, change in appitiet or concerns from the Doctor who came to visit regularly. I think they only thing that I didn't like about the facility was it had a very high turn over for nurses aids and this made it difficult to get to know and establish a rapport with the people who had the most interaction with my grandmother on a day to day basis. "

"We chose them for my aunt. It's very warm, cozy, and beautiful; beautiful in architecture, and everything about it. It's a nice, warm place when you first step in. The staff is very attentive to the clients. The food is fantastic, and the residents are very happy. Lots of activities. They have bingo, trips, arts and crafts, they have a welcoming party when you first come in which is a phenomenal thing. A welcome dinner which made her really at home with a deejay, food, and family invited. It was a nice experience when you first came in."

"searched high and low and the staff was the best at this location. They really care and treat my mother with dignity and respect. Other places felt like they were putting on a show when I visited. My mom loves the food and she is pretty picky!"

"The tour at Atria Longmeadow Place was very informative, the actual facilities were very nice, and the staff was excellent. I looked at 1-bedroom apartments, the dining area was nice, and they offer social events. It was more expensive than what we we're looking to find."

"I visited Susan Bailis. That place was to die for with a cute setup. The room was a one-bedroom with a living room. The people were very nice. The sitting area was very quaint, and it smelled good in there. It’s a fairly new place. The staff was excellent, especially the woman at the front door. They had underground parking, so visitors could stay as long as we want. I love it."

"Brigham House was a pretty good place. It was old. I did see one of the rooms, which was new. They've done the rooms over and it was sizable enough. It has a very bright dining room and it's got floor-to-ceiling windows. I think that the people that are there are well taken care of. It just didn't appeal to my friend. It was just too old of a place for him. It was a little pricey. There's a $7,000 activity buy-in fee."

"I liked Providence House Assisted Living. It was bright, and it was accessible. There was parking there. The staff was very nice. It's very clean. I was surprised by how bright it was. It didn't feel like a nursing home. They had things for the people to participate in. They have transportation if you don't have a car to go shopping three times a week. There are studios and apartments. They have a hair salon. They were playing Wheel of Fortune. They have tons of puzzles, and they have a library. Providence House is my favorite."

"I visited Chestnut Park at Cleveland Circle. I thought the staff looked great. The marketing person was new, so the Director actually met with us. The Director was lovely. They wanted to make sure that if we had questions, they could answer them fully. The rooms were very pleasant. It was not very large in the scope of things. They had roughly 75 units of assisted living, and they also had a memory center. We could return and try the meals, but we didn't choose to do that. Their dining area was pleasant. There was nothing in particular that stood out that was either super positive or super negative. It was just a nice dining room. The amenities looked good. The thing that stood out was they had little nooks to congregate in sunny places. Every place we toured offered some lounge areas, but Chestnut Park offered the best. It was just so inviting. There was an area looking out over a big sunny window, which was a light-filled space. We saw their library, which was very nice. It looked like they give their residents the opportunity to be active in the development of activities. The quality of the finishes of the place is not quite as good as the other place we saw, but it was homey. They had very nice people that are mid-level professionals living there. It was very pleasant, and I really liked the Director."

"My dad is staying now in Evans Park at Newton Corner. So far everything has gone really well. I just helped him transitioned a little bit there. The facilities are great. The food there tastes really good. He got a one-bedroom little apartment with a kitchenette, a freezer and a sink. It also has a bathroom and a bedroom. People working there are also very nice. So far our experience with Evans Park has been pretty good. "

"My mother was a resident at Sunrise for 4-5 years. The staff was always pleasant and loving which gave me peace of mind when I was unable to be there. The facility and grounds were always kept beautifully and my mother was always clean & had her meds given to her on time. Although I care for my grandmother for the last 8 years of her life, I was unable to care for my mom because I got the health benefits for my family at my job and my mother required 24 hour supervision. The activities director was also fabulous whether she was running a safe morning exercise routine or taking the residence out to eat. The food was also outstanding and they held parties for all kinds of celebrations. They also had entertainment come in to Sunrise on occasion. It was the best place for my mother. "

"I like Sunrise of Newton. I like the openness of the hallways and the elevators. Because it's new, they were able to have more space. They took time to follow up and answer my questions. They have a fridge in the room, but of course, they don't have a stove. They have a backyard. They have grills and things like that out there."

"Scandinavian Living Center was an absolutely lovely facility. Great staff, beautiful, lots of recreational and educational opportunities, and good food. It had beautiful rooms, small, intimate settings. You name it, they have it: music, dance, games, outside speakers coming in, and community organizations that meet in the building so the seniors can participate. You basically have a little apartment with a little bit of a kitchenette, but they had communal meals too."
