"My father has been at Epoch for about seven weeks now. Not the best looking place but good food and great staff. My family visit morning, noon and night and we have not experienced anything negative with staff members. The important thing to us is that he is treated well and fed. They offer many recreations that any and all patients can participate in. They invite family members to join in the festivities which I think shows the patient that we are all family. That is a good feeling - family is the world to most people and Epoch in my opinion tries to create that family feeling. "

"My father-in law and mother both had wonderful stay at Golden LivingCenter Elmhurst. My father-in law visited for some short term rehab and although he was not the easiest patient for the staff, they did an exceptional job assisting him to return home in the shortest time possible under the safest conditions. He did not want to go to a rehab, however, in the end realized it was best for him to increase his strength so he was able to return home. The staff at Elmhurst really helped him and were very patient and understanding with him. My mother was a long term patient at Elmhurst. She loved being at Elmhurst as the staff treated her like she was part of their family, especially Gladys, Maryann, Toni and Barbara staff on the second floor, It was very comforting to her family to know how well she was taken care of and how good she felt about being somewhere other than home. Thanks so much to all the Elmhurst staff for the great care for our family members. I would highly recommend the Elmhurst to care for a loved one. "

"I recently visited a resident at Tuell nursing home. In general, I thought Tuell Nursing home is excellent. The grounds of the facility are minimal but well kept. The center is located on a main road in Melrose, MA and is easily accessible by car. I utilized street parking and you do have to be careful because it is located on a busy street. Upon walking into the nursing home you feel like you have stepped into someone's house, not a nursing home. Since it was my first visit I was a little confused about where to check in and find the resident I was looking for. Despite my initial confusion I was immediately greeted warmly and given assistance to find the resident. The staff of the facility are responsive, everyone who passed by offered me assistance. There did not seem to be much in the way of common areas as it is a very small facility. There is a lovely patio area out back that is surrounded by trees. The dining room is small but very comfortable; it also has more of a homey feel than an institutional feel. The shared residents' rooms are large and have a home-like feel. I noticed the resident's room was a bright color and there were large wooden closets for each resident to use. There were personal effects displayed on the tray-table. While I was there, I noticed that the facility staff demonstrated patience and it was clear they had developed a caring and friendly relationship with a patient of mine who has dementia. I have never had trouble trying to reach a resident via the phone, you call a resident phone line and the staff answers it and brings it right to the resident. Overall, Tuell nursing home is a wonderful place, and I would recommend it to everyone, especially those who are looking for good quality long-term care without the typical nursing home feel. "

"Lighthouse is very, very nice. It is a small place but everybody there is very nice. Everyone is treated like family. The facility is nice and clean. It is also cheery and bright. It used to be an old hospital that was converted to a nursing home. They have a nice patio where they take their patients out on the nice days, even those who are limited in their beds. The nurses are absolutely wonderful. They're very caring toward everyone there and everyone is treated the same. They do have activities for their patients. They bring in entertainers. They have exercise classes, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Even patients who are confined to their beds can also participate in some of their activities. They allow dogs in there for their patients. "

"My siblings and I never thought we'd place our mother in a nursing home, but here we are. It got to the point where we simply had no choice; she couldn't take care of herself and we lacked the ability to take care of her ourselves. Knowing how much she valued independence, I felt somewhat guilty about the decision, but, in just a short period of time, that guilt evaporated...completely. In just two weeks, my mother became totally immersed in her new setting. Greenwood is a house, with a large lawn and beautiful grounds, very similar to where my mother was living previously. They even gave her a plot of land to grow tomatoes and basil because they knew how much she loved to garden. It wasn't long before she was talking about Greenwood as "her" home. It's like one big happy family there, and the residents and staff get to know each resident very well; it's a very intimate environment. My mother is very comfortable. She's happy. It's been years since I've seen her laugh so loud. She is an eager participant in the daily activities, and enjoys the close friendships she has developed. Greenwood brought her back to life. Finally, in an industry where there’s much turnover in personnel, Greenwood stands out as being quite different. There’s great stability. The Administrator has been there for more than 20 years and the key department heads typically 10+. Many of the nurses I met had been there for 10 and 15 years. Some more than 20. They all seemed quite vested."

"Hectic, dirty, obvious that there's no management, whoever the big boss guy was he didn't care to greet us, to busy fighting with patient. Run."

"My mother in law is at this facility and i appreciate everything that they do for her. They take the time to spend quality time with the patients and reassure them. "

"The administrator Ben is outstanding. My aunt is in the facility, and we could not be happier. The staff have been attentive, and caring. Although we cant currently visit due to the pandemic, we have spoken with our aunt almost daily. We look forward to visiting her in person again soon. She keeps raving about the actives! Considering the limitations caused by the pandemic, that is exciting for us to hear. Her room is spacious and well done as well. Thanks Everett for everything!"

"My Mom was at Life Care Center of the North Shore for 2 1/2 years. My Mom entered Life Care Center at the age of 96. Before arriving there Mom was being treated for the flu at a hospital for 8 days. I needed to find a facility that had an open bed for her. Fortunately, Life Care Center had one available for Mom to begin Rehab., I expected after her Rehab stay Mom would be able to return home, but her condition could not warranted it. The Social Worker and I discussed my options concerning Mom. The Social Worker recommended to take an open bed on Floor 2 without hesitation. I was quite nervous and unsure about that situation. However, it turned out to be the correct decision having Mom remain at the facility. The Staff was so good and accommodating with Mom and reassuring me that Mom would be alright. If Mom was able to come home, it would have been very difficult for me. Mom adjusted to her new situation. She had a nice room near the nurse's station and staff workers. Mom's roommate was a terrific person knowing how I really cared and loved my Mother. Mom's dementia gradually took control of her. The Unit Director, nurses, and staff were so caring and understanding throughout the entire process. Other personnel were very kind and considerate. I was with Mom every day twice a day making sure she was fine and comfortable.. It was difficult when the time occurred knowing that I would not be there anymore with Mom. Once I had to return and everyone was so wonderful and concern about me. Many thanks to Care Dimensions and Life Care Center for there kindness and caring treatment to Mom and there concern toward me during those difficult moments. Another note of interest regarding the facility. . Clothing was washed daily and returned to the client. Activities were available and staff really work diligently to engage all clients. Meals were geared to the clients diet. Maintenance performed an outstanding job making sure the facility is operating efficiently and cleaned. The administration is knowledgeable and will work with the client and family situation. I do recommend Life Care Center of the North Shore, and if necessary, Care Dimensions as well. "

"My sister moved into Kaplan in December of last year and it immediately became apparent that it was a good move. I noticed how happy and comfortable the residents appeared. Unfortunately my sister became very ill and passed in April. In the few months she was there and in Brudnick rehab next door, the staff was incredible and caring. I never worried about her being there or what assistance she was receiving. The entire staff from the director down was very responsive to me whenever I had questions or concerns. The nursing staff is amazing. I will always be grateful to the Kaplan family for the love and care they gave my sister. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their services. "

"The staff all gave my father respect and comfort threw out his stay, all of the staff gave me Comfort including the director Rikki who I and her spent many times talking. My father's short stay of 5 months was full of Adventures learning and finally comfort, he had Lewy Body dementia, he at times was not easy to deal with, but the staff treated him with respect care and love. I could not ask more of anyone to care for my father when the staff at Dexter house. He passed away just a few days ago and threw up his journey everyone at Dexter house treated him with care compassion and love, I would like to thank everyone at Dexter house her caring for my father, on the last night with just a few hours left we reminisced of all the different moods of my father. It was good to talk with the people that cared for him. I have the upmost respect with a staff at Dexter house."

"My wife stayed in Life Care Center for a month for her rehab. They had 24-hour around the clock nursing assistance. They provided physical therapy and occupational therapy. The staff was reasonable. They were very courteous and very sympathetic to the patient's needs. The people were there to help. We were well satisfied with the facility. "

"My mother was in this Rehab Facility for three months. The Rehab was wonderful, but the care was poor. Nurse left a needle and meds on the bed side table and left the room while my mom was in the bathroom being toileted. CNA's would double glove wearing two gloves at the same time not washing hands between patients.. My mom also would ring the call light to be changed and would have to try and enjoy a meal while being soiled. CNA's took frequent breaks. "

"My mother will be moving into Abbott Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It was very warm and inviting, very clean, and everybody there seemed especially nice. It's an older establishment, but it's very, very nice. I know they have a lot of activities, music, and games and singing and so forth. It was a small facility and it seemed well taken care of. She can also receive hospice care while she's there. The staff was very nice and very friendly. Everyone seemed pretty happy there, and they were very social."
