They have a salon, they do church services on Sundays in their main function room, we also saw their exercise room. The facilities are good."

"The Current Beverly is a few blocks away from the beach. They had bedroom units, which were large enough that I could get much of the furniture I currently have in storage into those units. Three meals a day are supplied and their menu looked very appetizing. The dining room is very nice. So, I don't think there'll be any problems there. They have a common area where they give talks and concerts and you can watch movies on a large screen TV. They have a wine and beer bar on the top floor. Just beyond this is a full-width promenade area with chairs that goes around the corner. The facility is up on the top of a hill and when you look down from this promenade, you look over the trees right down to the ocean and the beach. It's a beautiful view and I would probably be out there sitting and reading out in the open air. It's a nice full-width balcony that runs the full length of the building. So, it's quite large. The facility has been completely refurbished and everything is brand new. The salesperson was very friendly and nice. He is continuing to communicate with me and keep me up to date. They have periodic get-togethers that he invites me to. I haven't been to any yet, because I pretty much made up my mind. The facility has weekly housekeeping. They have a linen service. Each floor has its own laundry that you can use at no extra cost. It's pretty much a standard kind of business. Of the places I've visited, I haven't found any that are any different there. It was a clean place. They were just starting to fill it in again. There weren't that many residents yet because they had just reopened. As I mentioned, it is up on a hill. It's up on the very pinnacle of a hill and if you don't have a car, if you are walking, you have to go up to get into it. I'm on supplemental oxygen and if I have to walk up a hill, I get tired pretty fast. So, ingress into the place could be a consideration for somebody who is walking, because you have to go uphill to get into it."

"My 92 yo Mother lives there and I have nothing but compliments to the facility and it’s staff and management. The facility is like a nice comfy hotel and I found all the staff member I met to be courteous and kind- all professional. Management also is communicative sending emails when issues surface like COVID within the facility. Recently, when I was visitingMom she had a stroke in front of me and the staff reacted quickly and caring my in getting my Mom to the nearby hospital. My Mom likes the place and the people and that is a great comfort given my Mother’s multiple medical issues. My family is very happy with the experience to date!"

"We chose Pines of Newmarket because of the activities, the friendliness of the staff, and the details that they gave us when we took the tour, of all the information that they provided for us. We moved my mother-in-law there this month. It has both assisted living and memory care. They're relatively new to us so we don't have a lot of experience with them yet, but they've been wonderful so far. The staff has been very informative and caring. They have a wide variety of food and we're happy with it. For activities, they have exercising, bingo, word games, puzzles, and movies. I don't know all the facilities yet, but they have a hair salon there. They also have nurses and doctors that come in. I think that's wonderful. We're getting what we paid for."

"It is very home-like and not institutional. They have quite a number of different programs, and they're well-staffed. Being an old farmhouse, the rooms are all different sizes, but they're very clean, and tastefully decorated. The residents are also permitted to bring their own belongings if they choose to. The staff members are very friendly and open. They seem to take very close interest in the residents. They serve three meals a day, and they have snacks available. The place is very nice and very clean. The staff members are very open, and they welcome me whenever I want to come. Once my husband is there, I can go and visit him any time of the day."

"We toured The Gables at Winchester. It was large, open, and spacious. It was perhaps not as modern and updated as the others. When it was done, it was very well done. Everything was nice and big. The residents looked happy. There were a lot of them talking to each other, which I liked. I know how it is at that age; there's a lot of snoozing going on. The mood was a little happier in this one. The staff was great. There was a big pool table in the corner of the room when you walk in. My husband spotted that. I wouldn't have even noticed. I probably would have set up lunch there. It wouldn't matter to me, but that made him happy. They had a nice outdoor area where they have parties and serve lunch sometimes, if it's not too hot. It was very spacious. There were rooms upstairs, including a beauty salon. It was a big one. There were people in the salon. I could see the person doing hair, and there was a lot of talking going on there. It felt alive. There was a little extra kitchen area up there for people that wanted a snack any time of the day. The apartment was nice, new, and clean. The bathroom was well set up, and that's important. It had a TV. They provide the linens. They bring in as much care as he needs. They will charge him for it, but it's available. They're not going to say you need a higher level of care somewhere else; they're just going to add the care. That's number one. They also had the physical therapy room with somebody there that can do physical therapy on a daily basis. It was really important to us."

"My friend has already moved into Evergreen Place. She has been there now for a couple of weeks and she's very happy. The atmosphere is a very family atmosphere, very friendly, very accommodating, very affordable housing, very clean, and just a lovely place. The staffers were so accommodating. They wanted to make my friend comfortable and meet her needs. I was very pleased about that. I've spoken with my friend about their food several times, and she's very happy with the food and the place. And she's not all that easy to please, so I'm delighted. It's an old building, but it has been updated beautifully. It's very clean and beautifully decorated. All the rooms do not have private bathrooms, but my friend was lucky enough to be able to get a room with a private bathroom. It doesn't have a shower, only a private bathroom. One of the downsides of it is that the rooms do not allow them to have their own cooking facilities. There's a small refrigerator or a microwave like some assisted living facilities offer. But there is a refrigerator right around the corner that's available to everybody. If they want to store some things, they're welcome to use that, and they supply snacks for the residents, too. So it's working for my friend. I haven't personally sat in on an activity, but I was told about a number of the activities, and my friend has told me about the activities that she's participated in. I think she's getting what she is paying for. The rooms aren't huge by any means, but it's enough space. It probably could be bigger, but it's more than adequate."

"We chose them for my aunt. It's very warm, cozy, and beautiful; beautiful in architecture, and everything about it. It's a nice, warm place when you first step in. The staff is very attentive to the clients. The food is fantastic, and the residents are very happy. Lots of activities. They have bingo, trips, arts and crafts, they have a welcoming party when you first come in which is a phenomenal thing. A welcome dinner which made her really at home with a deejay, food, and family invited. It was a nice experience when you first came in."

"Scandinavian Living Center was an absolutely lovely facility. Great staff, beautiful, lots of recreational and educational opportunities, and good food. It had beautiful rooms, small, intimate settings. You name it, they have it: music, dance, games, outside speakers coming in, and community organizations that meet in the building so the seniors can participate. You basically have a little apartment with a little bit of a kitchenette, but they had communal meals too."

"I visited Ivy Hill Assisted Care. It's very friendly and I loved the location. It was not too far from a church that I love. They have libraries nearby, the location was excellent, and the house itself was beautiful. The room was very accommodating for my needs. I had a lot of stuff to move in; I would have no problem with that, and I believe it came with a bathroom. It was clean and it was an old building; I like older buildings. It's a beautiful place, I loved it so much. The staff members were so friendly. I think they were genuine. They were very warm and friendly. Amenities include food, laundry, medication management, and doctors that come in, and you don't have to go to them. They go out to concerts. I thought that would be lovely to do myself. It's a lovely room above the street. Nice grounds around it, and a big parking lot in the back. I liked it. They have no swimming pool, and no gym."

"The facility is clean and well kept. They have a nice oustide area for both relaxing and gardening which is nice for seniors that would like to tend a garden. There is also access to a deck on the roof which is well maintained.The facility has an onsite hair salon which also is great for folks with limited mobility or limited resources to being driven to outside salon.I have only seen the studio size room but it is a decent size and allows for sufficient room for sleeping and sitting area. The onsite staff is responsive. They appear to have a genuine interest in the well being of the residents.The common areas are set up to support building relationships between residents which is so important for the well being of seniors. The dining room serves nicely prepared meals which could be served in room if resident prefers. Feedback based on six months experience. "
