I went to Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. It is a beautiful facility, but I think the price was just really overwhelming for me. Everyone has been very pleasant no matter where I went, and very nice explaining the whole process. They have a gym and they have a hairdresser there as well.

Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm was a beautiful building. It was well maintained. They had friendly and attentive staff. I liked the level of cleanliness there, and the maintenance of the whole facility was great. They were in a beautiful location with very nice outdoor areas for walking.

My brother is at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. I'm very pleased with everything. He is very happy and he's thriving there. He's got a social life, he doesn't have to worry about stairs, and he doesn't have to cook anymore. He doesn't need me, and he's fine. I like everything. It's clean, it's neat, and the layout is very comfortable. I felt comfortable. I felt like I was going into someone's home. He is in what they call a studio. It has a little kitchenette. It's like an open area. He has his recliner and his little TV, then next to that is where his bed is. Across from his bed is the bathroom, which has all the safety features. The few times a week that I was there, everybody was very friendly, very courteous, and very professional. He's played bingo and Scattergories, they have happy hour once in a while, and he's played some card games. It's great. They're given a daily list of activities that they can join in if they choose, and I'm very happy to know that he has joined in. It's expensive, but I think it's worth every penny.

I visited this facility

My dad will be moving into Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. What I liked most about it is that it's a fairly small community, so it's very easy for seniors to know each other. Whenever I was in the hallways walking, I always saw somebody who worked there offering assistance to people walking down the hall. It was incredibly friendly. The facility was exceptionally clean. You didn't feel like you were either in a nursing home or a hospital type of setting it. It truly felt comfortable, warm, and homey. They have happy hour. We ended up going to a Valentine's party one day. It was just a lot of fun and a lot of activities going on. There was a schedule posted right there of everything that was happening. So people could check the board and find out what's going on for the day. The staff was amazing and showed us everything. We got to see all the different locations of where they have their dinners, where they have happy hour, and the library. Any questions we had, she fully answered. Even as far as doing the paperwork, she was so helpful. She also sent us home with dinner one night. I love this place.

My grandparents are both in Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. It's very inclusive. The staff seems very accommodating. The accommodations are very clean, comfortable, and well-lit with nice windows. They have lots of activities, too. They have bingo, yoga, movie nights, and social hours. So, we've been pleased so far.

My mother is at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. She's in memory care. I like it because it's very small. It's only 20 people in her wing. They all eat in the kitchen and it's very family-style and small community. I think that the staff cares about the people who live there. They have activities all day long. They have music groups and memory groups, arts and crafts, they go outside and play games, they have musicians come in and have sing-alongs, and they play bingo. I have eaten there and the food was fine.

I have an uncle who is there at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. It's a good community. I'm not much of an expert, but it has a good reputation around the town. People who go there seem to be very pleased with the service and the care that they have there. He has no complaints on the food. The staff is courteous. Everybody is helpful and cognizant about COVID. They've done very well to keep the community safe along with the workers. They have good protocols from what I can see. It's relatively new, and they've kept it up from what I can tell. The price is pretty comparable to this area. It's between $5,000 and $7,000 a month, which is not chump change. I think Benchmark is one of the few that offer Danvers low-income credit if you qualify. In conjunction with the Danvers Housing Authority, you have an option if your income is low to get on a low-income fee schedule. That's probably gonna be the dealmaker for future decisions. They're really active up there. They've got highly competent nurses, nursing assistants, healthcare assistants, and workers. They're all very courteous, polite, and competent.

My parents will probably be moving into Putnam Farm (Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm). We've visited their assisted living and memory care. My overall experience was very good. It was clean. The staff is really nice. They continually reach out to us. They did Zoom conference calls with me and my brother who are both working on this right now to try and get my parents settled. They're very cordial. We saw one unit, which is the only one they have available. They allowed people in for half an hour to take a look at it. The unit looks really nice and that's particularly why I decided to go with Putnam Farm. The location is only a couple of miles from my parents' current house, so it is still in the area, and it is really nice. It's set up on the hill, and there are lots of trees. It's fall here, so it's pretty up there. I tried the food. They invited us over one day and my mother and I both ate there. We got our own separate room and they served us lunch, dessert, and beverages. It was really delicious. It was really good. I was really happy with it.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am very concerned about the residents' safety at Putnam Farm. Putnam Farm has gone from an excellent facility to one that is mediocre at best. My Dad lived in the Harbor memory care section of Putnam Farm from September 2016 - January 2017 until he passed. The care he received then was exceptional! I moved my mom from the assisted living side to the Harbor Memory care unit in April 2020 and it was a completely different experience in the worst way possible and she passed away 3 months after being moved to Harbor on July 31, 2020. 2020. The staff was sparse and hard to connect with. One example is when my mom fell out of bed, I did not receive a call, and somebody put her back in bed without notifying anybody. The day team found her that morning, in a great deal of pain, in her bed, and sent her to the hospital with no paperwork. I had to make several calls to find her. The surgeon at Salem Hospital told me there is no way she could have gotten back into bed on her own due to the severity of the hip fracture. After my mom's fall, Putnam was not able to provide the level of care that she needed, so I stepped in and stayed with her in her room. I asked for an investigation from the director of Harbor, and the director of Putnam, but they never got back to me with an answer, and both subsequently quit their jobs shortly after. The lead nurse in charge of Harbor resigned from her job right after as well. Please, if you value your loved ones, think twice before putting them into Putnam Farm at Danvers, Benchmark Living.

My aunt is a resident at Putnam Farm and I couldn’t be happier with our choice! It’s comforting to know that she is well taken care of. Everyone is wonderful, starting at the reception to the Administration! This community is well-managed and everyone I’ve interacted with seems genuinely happy to work/live there, including my aunt!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm very pleased with Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. The activities director is doing a great job. I like the transportation and the meals are spectacular, but they're a little short staffed in the kitchen. Sometimes, you have to sit there for quite a while before someone comes to you, but once you get your meal, it's delicious as always and very creative. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The residents all seem to get along pretty well together. We have a library, and we do field trips.

My parents moved into Putnam Farm of Danvers. We had looked at a number of other potential new homes for them and we knew that as soon as we walked into Putnam, our search was over. From our first visit, to move-in, the entire staff at Putnam has repeatedly exceeded any hopes or expectations of care for my parents and has given us much peace of mind knowing help is just a button-press away. Laundry is done once a week, three balanced meals included, medication administration help. The facility has their own VNA service. There are plenty of activities to participate in. The apartment is a perfect fit for the two of them allowing to bring their own furniture. The facility is clean and the grounds are beautiful. It has that "homey" feel; not too big.

I only viewed Benchmark at Putnam Farm, and I was pleased with it. It is not big and is homey and more informal. I don’t like the big ones because anybody with any type of memory problem will have a hard time finding their way around. They try to keep the residents busy, which is nice. They have exercise and check on them. There aren't tons of people going in and out, so it is very low key and casual. The atmosphere is nice, which is the reason I picked this one. I have eaten there quite a few times, and the food is fine. It is served like in a restaurant. I think it is a great place. I have talked to some of the residents who love it. I have also talked to their kids who seem to like it, too.

Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm is our first choice. We were extremely impressed by the director of nursing and the person that represents them. They were both very professional and helpful. There was also a lot of feedback from people I know who have had family members there that really liked it. The food was excellent, too.

We choose Putnam Farm at Danvers for our parents, and they are settled in. We chose it because of the cleanliness, the pleasantness of the staff, and the spacious rooms. They offer outings and different programs. Every day, there are different activities that they can choose from whether it be crafts, knitting, or bingo. My mom still drives, but I do believe that they offer to take them to doctors' appointments. They have three meals a day and can go between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. or between 11:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., which is nice. Same with the evenings: between 4:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., which is very convenient for the residents there. I believe bringing the food to the room is offered when they are not feeling well; however, they want them to go to the dining room for their meals.

We liked our visit at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm. It's a pretty place, and I believe it's newly renovated and decorated. It's spacious. The residents seemed very relaxed and engaged. The woman who gave us the tour spent a lot of time with us and answered our questions. She was also very helpful. We liked their philosophy of wanting people to be engaged in as many activities as possible.

Provider Response

One of the many benefits of being a senior living company is the ability to create moments that wow our residents and families. Thanks for your kind words! Please feel free to contact the Executive Director if we can ever be of service to you and your family.

We were looking at Putnam Farms. The staff that we met with was just very friendly, very helpful. I really felt like she was not trying to sell us something but she was trying to help meet our needs and see who we were and what we needed. The person we met with was very good. We were looking at 1-bedroom rooms, mostly. That's what my mom wants, and they were a decent size. They were well appointed. The services were good. We ate dinner there. The food was very good, and the building was in very nice shape: clean, pretty, lots of amenities. They have general trips out, art classes, music, cooking, crossword puzzle games, and movie nights. They seem to have everything that everybody else had. The facility is very well run.

One place that we visited was here. It's a lovely and very tidy facility. They have a beautiful setting. They do have a two-bedroom, one-bath place that is very nice. This facility is expensive. I only met a few staff, and they seemed to be very confident. They all seemed fine. The food was good.

We had a nice chat with the head nurse. I was very surprised that she knew just about every patient's name, every person's name that we ran into during the tour. They have one-bedroom apartments and also the studio type. The one-bedrooms are large. I've seen their dining room, which was a little smaller and the tables were smaller. It's informal and friendly.

Putnam Farm was probably the best one I've seen. I've visited them last October. They have an apartment-living style. I like that it has more living quarters and it has a home atmosphere. It also has a small kitchen. I also like how they are rotating of the staff. Your parents would have the same staff and get to know the staff instead of having a different person. They were trying to make sure that my parents would have the same nurse all the time and for me that was important.

I like Putnam Farms. My brother's in-laws are there. They have a memory care unit that is nice and secure. I would give them a high rating. My brother's father-in-law is in the memory care and his mother-in-law is in the ALF. I have been up there multiple times to see them. The father-in-law is always clean, always walking around, and always involved in something. The mother-in-law is able to go up and down to see her husband as much as she wanted to. The staff is very kind and very nice to them. They actually know a lot about their clients that are there. Overall, this is a wonderful facility.

Putnam Farm has a good feel to it. It feels homey, it's clean and the staff seems great. We're really happy with how everything is going so far. My father-in-law's been there for about three weeks now. And so far everything's been wonderful.
