"Windham Terrace was very clean and it had a homey feel. They had both assisted living and memory care. They had a nice big cooking room where they could go and cook their own meals or the family could cook along with them. I only saw a small activity room and a library. They have a terrace, but I didn't go outside. The room was very nice and spacious. They have a kitchenette and everything is included. You don't have to pay a telephone bill, the internet, or cable TV, so that was a nice feature. The facility looked very nice and I liked that it's small. The person that runs it has been there for over 20 years, so that was good to know."

"Mom is at Pine Hill Retirement. I’m impressed because it’s a small community. Right now, there are only 16 people there, but they are growing and building a second facility. It’s homey without a lot of people, and they do a lot of different activities. It was independent enough. It’s set back in the woods on a dead-end street, so the residents could walk to the end of the street and back for a small trip, which is nice because they have somewhere to go. The food was good, and the price was really good too. My mom is able to afford this place with her savings, so she can stay there quite awhile without Medicare or Medicaid. It’s a nice place; I can go visit her any time. She has a nice-sized room with which she is really happy. They’ve been really good with the family. "

"Benchmark is very pretty, nicely decorated, and clean, and the staff is very friendly. There are always lots of people around playing games and doing things. Obviously, we liked the place because this is where my mother is. The size of the room is about the same as the other one that I saw. My mom's been on a few field trips. There isn't a spa or restaurant; there's nothing like that. There's a dining area, but it is just a regular dining room. "

"These people are amazing. Everyone and I mean everyone at this facility is out of bounds! Thank you to the director, the staff and mostly Tara. I could have not gotten thru this without her. From the first upsetting call all the way thru placing my mom she was there every step of the way. She was available for everything. She listened to every concern, met me a 11:00 p.m. the night before my mother transferred and personally got the room ready. The bed was delivered at 11:30 p.m. and needed to be made up. Guess who stayed and did that for us? Yes, Tara! From the moment you walk in the door with the greeting receptionist to every director, nurses and nursing assistants to all the specialty program staff, kitchen and many I have forgotten at the moment...it is unbelievably comforting. The day after we placed her I got sleep for the first time in weeks. I knew she was going to be taken care of from the very best. I couldn't get her out of the "rehab" she was in fast enough. In less than a week she is accepting PT help and even made a friend. She's happy and so I am happy. It was not what I expected at all. I was thinking depressing nursing home like on tv. The living areas are like apartments not just rooms to house bodies. Her apartment is better than the one I lived in during college. Clean, comforting, beautiful, secure and spacious. I've said it a million times, but again,Tara....thank you!"

"My brother chose Windsor for our mom. He loved the large living room area that overlooked the beautiful patio. That turned out to be her favorite spot. Our mom had a lovely room that faced the entrance of the building. She enjoyed watching people coming and going. She had fun with the activity director and the residents. Mom took part in exercise class, sing a longs, games and painting. A special thank you to the care givers and nurses that cared for mom with all their heart. They were so helpful because our mom struggled with Parkinson’s disease and relied heavily on the staff as she needed more and more assistance."

"I went to Aynsley Place. They showed me a one-bedroom, their cafeteria, and their community room. They had a piano in the lobby and somebody comes and plays and entertains the people. It's a very nice facility. They had a nursing home attached right next door. They do arts and crafts, and they take them on trips. It was clean and very well maintained. The director was very nice, and the residents seemed friendly. The whole place was nice."

"The Delaney at the Vale wasn't right for us, but it was a fine facility. The staff was very helpful and spent a lot of time. It really seemed ideal for a certain kind of person, but we wanted to be more urban. We are New Yorkers, and it was like a resort. It's not really what we wanted. We needed it to be closer to town, that kind of thing, but the facility itself was brand new."

"Gables at Winchester was a recommendation from another family. We visited the property and we saw that it was new and extremely clean. We like the staff that we had met. We selected this facility for my dad because of its cleanliness and also because of its staff. He has eaten there and he seemed to be very happy with the quality of the food and the options that they have. They have different selections for the residents with regards to their activities. They have classes, swimming, field trips that the residents can sign up, tours, and museum visits. "

"It is beautiful. It has architectural detail in all the rooms because it’s an old building that was renovated, and everything is accessible primarily by elevator. It’s easy to get to right downtown. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants. If the elderly person is active, it might be a great place because they can walk to the theater. There is a jazz bar and an art center. You can walk to the beach and parks. There are tons of stuff to do. They offer free membership to the YMCA across the street to anyone who is staying there. They have a beautiful view of the ocean. It has a nice dining facility with a great menu and options. There’s not a lot of parking, which is the downside of being in the inner city. You really don’t need a car between being able to walk places and having shuttle buses. They have a really nice dedicated Alzheimer's floor which seems well maintained and secure with their own staff. You have to have a key to get on and off the floor with the elevator, which was nice. "

"Evergreen Place has been excellent. It's very homey. The staff is very attentive to all the needs. It's been a perfect fit for my father. He has one of the larger rooms with a living room, a bedroom and a full bath. He could've had a single bedroom with just a bathroom. They have movies, arts and crafts, trips, men's luncheon, ladies' luncheon, they go to Wal-Mart and to The Dollar Store, they have entertainment, weekly barbecues in the summertime outside under a big tent. They will also take you to your doctors' appointments as long as they're in Manchester. They order and distribute all the medicine, and they do housekeeping and laundry. However, rooms at other places that cost the same amount of money have kitchens in them, and this one doesn't have a kitchen. They should just be a little bit less money because of that."

"Scandinavian Living Center was an absolutely lovely facility. Great staff, beautiful, lots of recreational and educational opportunities, and good food. It had beautiful rooms, small, intimate settings. You name it, they have it: music, dance, games, outside speakers coming in, and community organizations that meet in the building so the seniors can participate. You basically have a little apartment with a little bit of a kitchenette, but they had communal meals too."

"My husband is at The Pines of Newmarket. He tried to escape the first day, but the whole team is wonderful there, and they are taking exceptional care of him. He's eating and doing much better. They keep a close eye on him. The nurse who takes care of him first thing in the morning to help him get dressed has requested that, as long as he's there, she would like to be able to take care of him every day that she is working. They have been so helpful, and they understand that he has his issues. I call him every three days and talk with the nurses. When I tell them things like when he bangs his arm, they have to do Steri-Strips. They put the Steri-Strips on and a Band-Aid. I said, you need to put more of a bandage on there because he'll be picking at it, and they agreed, and the nurse, Bruce, said he would take care of it immediately. They all love him there, so they're very happy to take care of him because he's easygoing. He'll be at The Pines until I can come and get him and bring him back home. It's spotless. It's the neatest, cleanest place, and my brother went to see him the other day, and he could not get over how comfortable, homey, and clean it was. I'm a clean nut anyway, and I have been in a lot of other places, including hospitals that aren't even that clean. They have a good staff, and their food is all cooked right there. If they don't have something that somebody wants or craves, they'll get it for them. They post the menu on the wall every single day for a week at a time, so that the visitors have an opportunity to know what their loved one is eating, and you, as a visitor, are welcome to be there and have their meal with them at no cost. They do chair yoga, and they have get-togethers, and they take bus rides and things like that to different locations. His memory is so limited. I don't know exactly how much they've done with him other than make sure he's getting walking in and around the building, because it's fairly well laid out. For the cost, I would give it a five because of the atmosphere, the seating area, everything. I just can't get over the cleanliness because my mother was in another facility, and I did more cleaning in her room than the cleaners did. Even though I'm bringing him back home, if the issues arose again that I had to find a place for him, I would certainly consider them first."

"Our family was at a standstill when our elderly mom was living on her own and experiencing more and more health issues than we could provide assistance for her privately. It took a while to convince her she needed help after living an independent life for so long. We contacted The Parc @ Harborview and within days we toured, she loved it, we moved her in. She immediately adapted to her new surroundings. The best thing is that the care she receives at the Parc is top notch. Aids check on her throughout the day and night. They are sure she gets to her meals in their elegant dining area and eating healthy choices with companions. She is greatly encouraged to join the other residents in their activities and social gatherings (which are many). She made friends with residents and staff and her loneliness and health have taken a complete turnaround. I thank the great staff at the Parc from Anita and Burt at the front desk, health care professionals, and all employees who help in sharing their time and care for the residents. I would highly suggest taking a look if you or your family member is feeling alone or unsafe living alone. This is the place to be. Super plus plus plus, the facility is spotless with lots of gathering areas throughout for family to meet with their loved one. Thanks to all for being there, I can sleep at night knowing Mom is in the best hands."
