Assisted Living Communities in Raynham, MA

"The only reason we didn't pick The Current South Shore is that the apartment was on the fifth floor, and the porch was way bigger. It didn't have a cover, so we were wondering how we were going to shovel it and where do you put the snow when you're five stories up. The Current South Shore was actually really nice. It was brand new. It was six months old. The apartment that they showed us was a studio with a huge porch, and that was for independent living. I would give it a 3 only because right beside it was an automotive shop, and you could smell the oil if you went outside. Also, if my dad needed more help, he would lose his apartment, and he would get a smaller place. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, but the other person was awful. We gave them money first and then changed our mind because the other person was so bad. The place is beautiful, but one of their problems is the way the driveway is. When you come in, there's not much room. It's the way it's designed."

"I liked Orchard Cove the best because of the quality of its facilities and the nature of the residents’ population. Lots of facilities -- gym, physical therapy, swimming pool, activities, lectures, concerts, multiple dining rooms; very nice. "

"Anchor Bay at East Providence was very clean, very well-kept, and very well-maintained. They seemed to have good activities and medical programs. The staff who assisted me was very pleasant and knew all the people there, it was a very good, positive environment. I thought that the upkeep was excellent, and it's in close proximity to other amenities."

"My father spent quite a while there for rehab. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and compassion they all showed towards him. From the housekeepers to the director, everyone was so understanding to my fathers needs. The Dr. always kept me well informed and spoke to all of my siblings at a family meeting. The nurses treated my father as their own. His stay at Wingate on Blackstone was wonderful. Thank you to the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams as well. We will remain forever grateful to everyone."

"I visited Chapel Hill Senior Living. They were very nice. We very much enjoyed them. What I liked about it is it's a one-floor memory care unit. The staff definitely knew the residents. They called them by name, and then they had conversations as we were walking around. It was very clean. I also liked the fact that they had an area in the back with a garden, and it was not locked, so residents can go out if they want and come back in, and it's all gated. For my dad, who's a little bit more cognitive, to be able to actually go out into that area is very nice, because if it's locked, I think it makes him feel like he's in jail a little bit. The staff was wonderful. Cristina, who gave us the tour, was awesome, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I was super impressed. They had a patio and a courtyard."

"Wingate Residences on the East Side was very nice and very much like a hotel. The staff was very attentive to our tour and very nice. It seemed like they had a daily schedule of nice activities to do, like a pool and exercise program in an exercise room. "

"My aunt will be moving into The Highlands on the East Side. The tour was very good. Chloe took me around to all the places. We looked at three different types of rooms. The grounds are well-kept. The people were very friendly, and they have resident ambassadors, which I liked. They helped the new people to assimilate into the community, get them active, and help them make friends and things like that. I like that about them. They're right in the city, so they're close to everything, even the hospital. The 1 bedroom was very nicely sized with a walk-in closet. The studios are a decent size as well, but my aunt wanted a 1-bedroom. There are typical activities like at other assisted living places, but some of the residents were even doing their own type of classes. One guy was teaching other people how to use the computer. There were other places where people were reading together. There was a really nice outdoor patio. They have a library, a beauty salon, and a courtyard. Chloe is wonderful, she's the main person that we've been dealing with and she's even called to check up on how my aunt is doing in the hospital. I don't know the full layout of the facility because we only went down one hallway and up to the second floor. It looks pretty decent, and it's not too big. This place was easy to manage. The hallways were nice and there were elevators. They provide three meals a day."

"Whaler's Cove was a nice facility. The staff was informative, knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were good sized and well kept. "

"I toured Allerton House at Proprietors Green. It was exquisite. The staff were very friendly. They had everything that I could be interested in. They had a theater, they had a pub, they had transportation, and they had a lovely dining room. It's extremely clean. It was in a very equipped location for everything."

"I like the All American Assisted Living at Wareham. The first thing that drew me to them was their service and their responsiveness. They were the first one that responded. During that period, I had COVID, so I really couldn't see the place, so they offered me a virtual tour and they did that very quickly. Then as soon as I was over COVID, I called and the director there gave me an actual tour and showed me all the different rooms and what was available. The thing that struck me about the place is that it was extremely clean. I checked out the dining area, and I was pretty impressed with the menu that they had. I was in the food business, so I do look at things in terms of health consciousness. When you walk into the dining area, they have the menu for the day and then beside the menu for the day, they actually have a plate with the actual food that they're going to be serving, so people know what they're going to be looking at, and I was pretty impressed with that. Then I went to a conference room, and I asked all these questions and the director was very forthcoming with all of the answers. I asked her if she had a brochure, and she gave me the brochure, and she's followed through. She has been following through, and she calls constantly to see how things are going. She is really very on with this. I'm very, very impressed with All American and their response. We haven't tried the food yet, but I looked at the menu and it looked like a very well-balanced meal that the residents were getting. I talked to the nurses, the physical therapists, and the occupational therapists, and they all seemed really kind, caring people, and that's the environment I want to get my mother into. I'm extremely impressed. I was in the service business, so I liked the service that they've given me. I like the care that they I've seen when they're dealing with the people, who are living at the assisted living at this moment, and all we want to do is we want to keep her safe and we want her to be happy, and I think this is a really good match. And I felt this was a good central area for at least the three of us to be able to go and visit her. I felt that this would be a lot more convenient to everybody, and I was also surprised by all of the things that they offer the residents. I was so impressed with how clean and how organized the place is. There's no wear and tear, etc. Everything was very pristine. It was a very, very well-run organization."

"I visited Allerton House at Central Park. The gentleman who showed us everything was very nice. He gave a lot of facts and answered all my questions. He showed us two different apartments. One was a one-bedroom, and the other was like a studio. They were pretty good sized and handicapped appropriate. The staff seemed very nice. I ended up at the wrong building, so I didn't even really have an appointment, and that was nice of him to take time out. Everything was very clean. There were no smells. We parked right in front of the building. Everybody seemed friendly. They were setting up tables because they were having a big party. They had some outdoor space."

"Allerton House is very good. I remember it was my second choice. The surroundings are very clean, very nice, and updated. I know they have activities, but I didn't see anything going on. The people are extremely nice. The atmosphere impressed me. The experience was very pleasant. "

"We absolutely love Smithfield Woods Senior Living. This place is God sent. The care is phenomenal. When I showed up today, my mother-in-law said, "What are you doing here? I'm here with my friend." We're pleased with it. The day is packed full of activities. They were having a car show for the residents. She loves the food there. We ate lunch prior to her moving in, and it was amazing. We would have ordered it at a restaurant and gone back again. She hasn't been bored."

"The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk RI Assisted Living Residence wasn't as new as the other place. The dining area was very nice. They showed us empty rooms and it's hard to figure out how you're going to put furniture in it. Everybody was very nice. The staff was pleasant. I just found out that everybody was so old. I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel like I belonged there. They gave us menus to look at, to take home if we wanted, which we did, and everything looked good. They have tours and all kinds of things to do in different places."
