Assisted Living Communities in West Groton, MA

"I've chosen Benchmark Senior Living at Chelmsford Crossings for my cousin. It's very nice. The physical community was clean and bright, and everywhere the hallways were substantially white and light and one of the things that sold me on it was the single room type apartments. They call them studio apartments, it had a foyer also, which made the room much larger. So it was very pleasant, and the common areas were very nice looking, people were using them. And everybody seemed happy where they were. I thought it was a very good job and the price wasn't overbearing. The people I met were very good."

"They are very nice to the residents. The food is good They provide activities and trips that are interesting. Interaction with the children from the childcare facility in the complex is always a treat. There is a beauty salon in the building. Close to grocery and department stores yet set back so that traffic is not a noise problem. Apple orchard and beautiful walking area. Laundry facilities are small but they offer laundry service and they are always cleaning the rooms. "

"Windham Terrace was very nice, but we felt it was too expensive for us. We wouldn't be comfortable worrying if we would have enough money for the rent every month. But it was very nice and it had a cozy feeling about it. The people were sitting around in a lounge with a fireplace, while some residents were in the kitchen. The staff and rooms were very nice. If it had been much cheaper to live there, we probably would have done so. "

"We chose this facility because it is close to where I live. This facility sits in the woods; the location is very beautiful and picturesque. This is not a very large facility thus giving it a homey environment. My sister's room is very large, it has a double closet and she shares a bathroom with just one resident. My sister likes the food here, she says its excellent. The staffs are just wonderful. She helps her with medication, they take her to outings, bring her to the library because she doesn't drive and provide her with any other things she needs. Some recreational activities available in this facility include bingo games, watching TV together, taking residents to stores, inviting a podiatrist once a month and facilitating celebrations. This facility is doing everything I expect for my sister. She's younger than the other residents so she bonds more with the workers. This has been a very positive experience for her. "

"When ever I have visited my mother, I see unparalleled compassion and patience with the residents. There are some who seem to require constant attention and the staff is sooo good."

"We visited Windsor Place of Wilmington. We liked that. It was nice and bright in the area. The people were friendly. It looked like a nice place. They seemed to have activities. There were plenty of areas for people to do things."

"EPOCH of Weston is a magnificent facility. The staff was wonderful and they are very caring. All the residents seemed very happy there and they feel very safe. They have people come in and do entertainment and things. They had dinners. They had coffee hours and all different things. I would recommend this facility. "

"My mom lived in another independent living where she became very lonely. I decided to move her to Maplewood hoping she would make new friends and feel part of a community. She moved over almost a month ago and couldn’t be happier. Everyone is friendly and very inclusive! I’m a very short time she has made many new friends."

"Scandinavian Living Center was an absolutely lovely facility. Great staff, beautiful, lots of recreational and educational opportunities, and good food. It had beautiful rooms, small, intimate settings. You name it, they have it: music, dance, games, outside speakers coming in, and community organizations that meet in the building so the seniors can participate. You basically have a little apartment with a little bit of a kitchenette, but they had communal meals too."

"I was impressed with the quality of the facility at the Residences. The guy who worked with the lighting made it very cheerful, and they were in the process of increasing the size of the facility by 30 percent. The apartment was about 500 to 600 sq. ft. The staff was very satisfactory. There were a lot of activities and a garden to maintain while getting ready for summer. They had a restaurant in the facility, and the food was better than most restaurants. "

"Evergreen Place was very nice facility. You shared a bathroom in the apartments, and that's not desirable for me. The facility was fine, and the rooms are certainly spacious enough. It's not a new facility -- it's been there a while -- but they have done a very good job of keeping it up. They have the basic retirement activity room, and they do cards and take people around downtown Manchester, so it's very nice. "

"Rivercourt Residences was beautiful. I like the location because I live in Groton. What stood out is it seems so fresh, new, and welcoming. The cookies they gave me were good, too. It was a chocolate chip cookie, and it was delicious. It was freshly made. We had a really good visit. There are several dining rooms for different levels. I wasn't there at mealtime. So, they were empty but they were all clean, neat, and attractive."

"Nashoba Park Assisted Living is a great community. I would recommend them. It's nurturing and as far as amenities and activities are concerned, it's a great place. It's just that my mother-in-law has different needs now, so we need to find her a different place. But I have nothing negative to say about them. She has a studio room with a bathroom, a kitchenette, a sink, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. She has her own couch and a TV. I saw some of their activities and the residents were enjoying them. Mom is probably the healthiest she's ever been because of the nutritious meals they offer. She's been there for over a year and she's noticeably better in her overall appearance. The staff is great, and they are all very kind, caring, and attentive."
