"The staff is wonderful. They are very attentive and involved with the residents. There is an entertainer every afternoon. The owner is often walking around the place with his dog. He is very approachable and visible. The nursing staff is caring and gentle. I don’t worry about my family member because I know he is safe and well cared for at The Oasis."

"My daughter is in Life Care Center of Leominster. It's an excellent place. She has a lovely room. They have rehab and assisted living also, but she's in the nursing home. The grounds are beautifully cared for. It's very clean. There's no smell. From the minute you walk in the door, the receptionists are very, very personable. The admissions lady, Marilyn, is outstanding. She deserves great credit. The food is excellent. Peter is the chef, and he presents it beautifully and it smells good. The staff seems nice. It is a nursing home and there are a lot of people in wheelchairs, but they all seem happy. My daughter is only 60, but she can't take care of herself anymore. It's only been a week and a half, but so far, she's happy and she's well taken care of. I can't see anything wrong with the staff. I like it. I'd go there myself if I had to."

"My cousin is in Fitchburg Healthcare. They always have someone at the desk. There are two buttons to make the door open, and somebody at the desk usually sees you. And then you just go to that desk and sign in and you say who you're visiting. It's very clean. The staff is very attentive when my cousin puts the light on or whatever, and they make sure the patients are clean, but my cousin doesn't like that. He complains about that because he doesn't want to be clean. My cousin is more or less bedridden, but they get him up and about. They have an activity center on the first floor. My cousin has a calendar with the activities that they're doing daily. I've never been there during meal time, but he always wants me to bring him food. He complains about everything though. They let them go outside and smoke, too."

"My Mom has had several short term stays at the highlands and we are very pleased with the care she receives. The rehab personnel are excellent and each time Mom leaves she is a little better than she was before her falls. The aides work very hard and try to take care of all the residents needs. The facility communicates very well with me and the steps that mom is dealing with along the way. Over the past visits it seems like there are a lot of improvements made to the patient care and communication. Every place has its bumps but I know once mom leaves and comes home if she has another fall and needs rehab this is the only place I would entrust my moms care to. "

"When you come in the door, the reception is always pleasant at Sterling Healthcare Nursing and Rehab. They make me comfortable and welcome, and it is just a lovely place. The administration is good. The food is excellent, and the nursing care is very good. We really have made a good decision. You feel good, and I like everything about it. The activities group is excellent. There is something going on all the time. It's a good size place, and what they do is amazing. "

"The staff is amazing! They are interactive with patients and supportive of family members. The safety and wellbeing of residents is a priority , and facility is clean and cheerful ! It is always heart wrenching to have to place a loved one into someone else care , but this has been a gift in this pandemic to have a place where my mother is safe and cared for. They try to do as many fun activities as possible. In these very stressful times I have never worried that her care was not a top priority for the staff."

"My child has resided in Seven Hills at Groton for 9 years. SH is an amazing facility! It is a safe, clean, nuturing & educational centered environment for the Pediatric patient who has severe disabilities and who needs 24/7 medical care. Their days are FILLED with interaction and include a modified school day. Here they receive PT,OT,Visual stimulation, music & art therpy, swimming etc. etc. The teachers, nurses and CNAs are second to NONE! This place takes the difficult task of realizing that there is NO WAY that you can meet the needs of your medically fragile child and turns all your fears into complete reassurance that your child receives the BEST possible services , care and quality of life. There is NO better facility on this Earth! "

"My grandmother has been a resident at Marlborough Hills since 9/12/14, we had her transferred from a Kindred facility in Newburyport. I am absolutely thrilled with the care she is receiving. All of the staff on the 2nd floor are absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately my gram was put on hospice last week and I am amazed at how caring and attentive the staff is towards my grandmother and our family. I will DEFINATELY recommend Marlborough Hills to anyone who may need them. "

"My mother entered Coleman house in August 2020. She had been living with me and needed more care than I could give her. They have been so caring and helpful during her adjustment (and mine.) At times it was a challenge and they worked with me to ensure her best care. They kept me informed of her progress and were always willing to chat with me. We were able to simplify things and make connections with her doctors. I can’t recommend Coleman House enough. My mother is well cared for and the staff are well trained and know exactly what to do. "Beaumont at Northborough is very close to where I live and the staff seems very friendly, competent, and seems to care a lot about their residents. Mom is in a shared room. It seems quite nice and bright. The windows have the sun shining in. I had one meal there and I think the food was good. If somebody has dietary restrictions or can't eat something, they have alternatives for you."

"I have been a patient for over two months and can’t say enough about the care they provide. They have a new cook who is wonderful and the food is great. I’ve already decided that if and when the time comes I would chose this nursing home. I love all the aids and nurses they treat you with respect. I give the place a thumbs up "

"My mom was at the Odd Fellows Home and I would like to thank everyone who took care of her. Everyone was very caring and compassionate. The staff were very informative at her Care Plan meetings. The Rehab Department did a wonderful job getting her to get up and walk. (which is no easy task). The nursing staff always checked in with her to see if she needed anything. The kitchen did a great job with her meals (because she is a picky eater). Thank you from the bottom of my heart. "

"I only have the highest recommendation for this skilled nursing home, Our mother was at another facility the had a great reputation, but it was anything but great for our mother. She ended up with a terrible bed sore, and was not recovering like they said she would. I ran into a woman who works for Autumn Village and I asked her how their rehab program was. After speaking with her, we decided to move our mother ...in what seemed like no time, her wound was healed, and she was up walking and getting the right type of therapy. She is home now, thanks to the caring staff at Autumn Village! "

Many seniors and their families use some form of financial assistance to help them pay for nursing care. The main options available are Medicare, Medicaid and veterans benefits. These programs can be complicated, especially when it comes to benefit terms. Below, we give a brief overview of how these programs may be used towards paying for skilled nursing care.
If these options aren't available to you, check if your loved one has long-term care insurance or contact your Area Agency on Aging to ask about local financial assistance programs for seniors.
Alternatives, for seniors who are independent and don't have major medical concerns, such as in-home care, home health care and assisted living are priced fairly evenly in Leominster. The cost is roughly half as much as nursing home care, with less than $300 separating the three. Assisted living may offer a more suitable environment, depending on the health concerns and circumstances of the individual. Adult day health care costs around $10,000 less per month than a nursing home, on average. These facilities typically provide daytime services, including medical monitoring, therapy and social activities, for seniors who can return to their homes in the evenings.
