My mother is a resident here. As my mother would say "they stand on their heads to please you and would do anything for you". My family has nothing but praise for the Knollwood Nursing Center. This place is immaculate and BEAUTIFUL inside and out.

I was at this rehab site, the food was poor and not much of it. Their wasen;t enough staff to care for patients, i was left in bed for 16 hours I use a wheelchair and need help to transfer. The weekends are the worst with minimal staffing. It is horrible if you can;t take care of yourself.

My grandmother has been at this facility for a year now. And at first, before Covid, the care was good. She was well attended to. Until recently, we hadn’t been able to see her much. She was scheduled for a surgery recently for a removal of skin cancer from her face. At first, they were trying to deliver her for the wrong day/time because they did not coordinate with the hospital. They even argued with my mother about it after the hospital gave her the correct date and time. My mother, her health proxy, meets her at the hospital to be there. Then when my grandmother arrived she was in just a t-shirt At the end of October! And she showed up in a dirty diaper with a clean one over it to “mask the problem”.Not only is that embarrassing for a human being to show up like that, it’s cruel. We are livid at the care she is getting. Now, just days after her surgery, she is back in the hospital with an infection at the surgery site. It is clear to us this facility does not care about their patients. Don’t send your loved ones here if you care about them at all.

I am really sad to be writing this review because years ago we had a great experience. Unfortunately, it was no so with a recent experience. I even double checked the Nursing Home Compare CMS website and saw they received 5 stars, but there is no way Knollwood deserves 5 stars. The rooms are nice and clean, but the actual care was not so great. My father has Parkinsons (and just had back surgery) and requires a pretty strict schedule for his meds every 3 hours or he "freezes" and starts having difficulty thinking and speaking. We noticed that he was getting his meds at odd hours/frequencies and when inquired learned that they have a +/- 1 hour around med schedules. I understand this is the law and they are covered by this, but when the family is telling you how important it is to be more timely, you need to listen. Instead we were told that they have 20 patients to deliver meds to and are doing the best they can and that they are covered by law. Also, When my father and his roomate would call for assistance to go to the bathroom (both were on full assist/fall risks) they took a long time to come and sometimes never...even after ringing the bell 3+ times. Unfortunatley this resulted in a few changes of wet clothes and linens...let alone the embarrassment. It is so sad to see grown men pleading for help because they are ready to bust a gut. Between my mom and I, we were onsite there for 8-10 hours a day and the doctor never once came into meet with us, until I caught her in the hall running to another meeting. Also, I did go to the Nursing Director with my concerns, especially about the meds, and it did get better, but My Dad could also hear the "chatter" about my doing this. The PT and OT were great! John was great and a few of the aides. My Dad will require nursing home again and it will not be Knollwood.

I would never send a family member or friend to this facility unless they truly were able to coordinate their own care. This facility lacks the ability to identify patient needs to care for each patient as an unique being. They are unwilling to compromise and are very adverse to family meetings to obtain common goals

Everything was well provided for, though there did not seem to be much attention given to the patient. My father was lucid at times and tried to talk, and no one seemed to notice beyond coming in to check on his IV. He tried to talk to the nurses, but they ignored him.

I would describe the facility at Knollwood Nursing Home as clean, tasteful and inviting. The staff is caring and professional. They cared for my mother in the final months of her life. The compassion and dignity displayed made it a pleasure to visit. I would (and have) recommended their facility to anyone in need of a nursing home in the Worcester area.

My aunt was a resident at Knollwood Nursing Center for six months. I visited her several times a week for her entire stay and I never had the slightest complaint or heard my aunt complain even once about her care. The Center is always very clean and bright. There are beautiful flower arrangements everywhere and the grounds are beautifully landscaped for outdoor visits as well. When I brought my 4 year old son with me the residents loved to show them the large tropical fish tank that is on display in the common room. The staff is all very attentive and friendly and they really focus on patient care and comfort. The staff always brought warm ginger ale because they know it is her favorite. I never witnessed a staff member ignoring a resident's requests or treating a resident with anything but care and respect. There is also a cat that lives in the facility. The cat roams freely around and the residents love to lure her into their rooms to pet her. Having the cat really brightens their days. All of the doctors and nurses really took the time to talk with all of the family and make sure that we understood how my aunt was doing and what they were doing to provide care for her. Eventually my aunt decided to have hospice care at home and the center was very good about helping us make this transition. I would recommend Knollwood to anyone needing long-term or rehabilitation care. It is a beautiful facility with wonderfully caring staff.
