"I toured The Groves. The tour was wonderful from what she showed me. She answered all my questions and I was interested. The rooms looked nice. I feel they need some updates in their place, but it was decent. They showed me a room with furniture in there. I don't remember seeing any appliances, because in assisted living they serve them three meals a day, but she can have her bed and stuff like that there. They clean their rooms. They need some paintings to make it look fresh compared to some of their furniture and stuff that was old in the assisted living part. The building was pretty clean and neat."

"I went to Garden Village. It was really nice. I absolutely love the facility just from even the outside. And upon walking in, it was again, just the aesthetic. Physically, it looked really nice. The staff member that I was able to talk with was really nice, very helpful, and very informative. And it was nice just being able to even see some of the residents, and they seemed to be in a really happy space. I met one resident. She had been there for like nine years. It was a really nice experience. If you're looking for someplace to put your parents before your parents go and they get a little bit of an age, it's definitely something on my recommended list. The staff was very informative, very helpful, really genuine, and nice. She was very easy to talk to. She had all the information that I needed, answered any questions I had, and made sure to give me space and time to ask questions. I even had to leave a little early because I had somewhere I had to go, and so she was able to get me all the information so that I still walked out with a good understanding of everything."

"I had an in-person tour of The Parkway Senior Living. They had awesome activities for the residents. It's a beautiful facility. All of the people I met, the staff, and the other residents I met were extremely nice and caring. It was just way outside of our price range. The menu was very varied. It was like it would cater to anybody's needs."

"Waterford Ladies Home seemed to be a very secure and safe environment. Everybody was nice. The staff was good. They answered all the questions and showed us everything. It was very clean, very nice and neat, and well kept up. The atmosphere was very peaceful. The rooms and the layout were very decent."

"The staff at Tiffany Springs Senior Living Community was wonderful. They offered food, but I didn't eat there. They have washers and dryers and balconies or patios. It's quite a bit more expensive, but I have to have those things. They have a pool, which is also very much in my favor because I have a very arthritic body."

"I went to Connect55+ Independence and met with the manager, Amy. She was just very enjoyable and very friendly. She gave me a walk-through of the one and two-bedroom apartments, but I believe the one-bedroom was already taken. For the price, it is well worth it. They have a gym. It's very independent. If you're in good health and everything, it is a great place to live. I looked at the one-bedrooms and they were pretty spacious. They have a nice closet and liked that they have a separate laundry in the apartments. The kitchens were pretty modern. I was just impressed with the whole thing. It was very clean and very neat. To me, parking is everything. I'm 67 and I'm very active. I come and go, so the parking lot has to be pretty well-lit, and I would feel very safe living there."

"My friend has already moved into here and it's a beautiful and wonderful place. I have never seen my friend this happy in years. The staff is wonderful. My friend's appetite has picked back up. She is just excited about it, likes to mingle with the people, make friends, and she loves the staff. She's also very happy that she gets to keep her kitty cat. I wouldn't mind living there."

"I feel like I'm being spoiled here. We have good people that will help me. I just go down for food and they take care of me with housekeeping. It's a nice place. They give you a menu for the week ahead and you pick your entrees. They usually have pretty good choices here. I've not had anything that I had to turn back. On the weekends, it's strictly buffet. On the weekdays, when you go down, they just serve you and you get a variety of drinks. They're just good. The servers know your name and they anticipate what you're going to want to drink. The food tastes good. They have a lot of activities available. Most of them are resident-led. They don't have fancy facilities, but we don't need anything fancy at this point in time. They have a courtyard where they can go out and have a firepit or barbecue outside. They have a door park, and we have some residents that have dogs, so it works out pretty well. Mainly I have interactions with the servers, and that's good. We don't have a swimming pool here, but we have an exercise room, a couple of game rooms, puzzle rooms, and stuff like that."

"I visited Senior Star at Wexford Place. They have all the amenities I want. It's a little on the older side, but it's well kept. The people are wonderful. There's a pool. It's a little smaller than the other place, which appeals to me. The people who assisted me during the tour were wonderful."

"I enjoyed Riverstone. It was very, very nice and posh. As soon as you walk in, you think that you're walking into a grand hotel or something. The lady who gave the tour was very good. Everybody was very friendly. I had lunch there in their very nice dining area and the food was a five-star. Overall, it's a very nice place. They have a physical therapy place, a gym, and a separate place for bingo. However, they have not responded in the same way as all the other facilities I visited. I've only got one response after I got there and I haven't heard anything else from them. There's one facility that I went to that has sent me something in my emails or things. For me, that's a special thing."

"The tour we had of The Gardens at Barry Road's assisted living was fine, but the amenities were fewer, and the living space was smaller compared to the place we ended up choosing. Other than that, the staff was good, and the person who gave the tour was great. The place was also nice and clean, and there was nothing negative about it. It's just that it didn't accommodate my brother's needs."

"I toured Trustwell Living of Raytown. It's a nice place, but it just won't work for us, and even talking to the gal, the director over there, my husband would not be a good fit for that. It was very nice and clean, and the people were very friendly. I talked to several people while I was there, the residents, while I was waiting for this gal, and they couldn't talk highly enough about where they were. They have a very, very good rapport with their patients. They also have an activities director. I spoke with her about it. They do quite a lot of different activities, so they keep them occupied, which I was pleased with."

"I had a nice tour of Elliott Place. I love the place; I just couldn't afford it. And the staff was not offering any kind of promos or anything. He was nice but not a whole lot of information was given other than the paperwork. It's a nice place. It's well-kept and very clean. There were a lot of amenities and features. They offer food, transportation, crafts and activities. I look forward to it. I also talked to a couple of residents there. I really like that they have locks on the doors so that anybody can't just come in."
